Some information on "DEFCON 4": Kind of funny actually because there are 5 levels with DEFCON 5 being the most peaceful and everyday. DEFCON 4 is only a little bit up from that, so if you really want to drive the point home you'd actually want to say "DEFCON 1". Edit: DEFCON 1 basically means "Prepare for imminent nuclear war"
Ultimately, kids need games to lift the enthusiasm of the squad. So I'd be looking at Burgoile Hall or Rawlinson... give a game to someone just to lift the spirit of everyone.
Its been interesting that Simmo said 3 weeks ago that they would keep looking at getting a lot of big guys up forward and seeing how it goes. Also, talked about giving guys through the middle like Ryan. I'm thinking 2 things. Simmo is just focused on next year and trialling a set up in the forward line for future years. All part of who they will keep or delist going forward. Will Darling survive or not etc... Then you wonder if the club is calling the shots and Simmo is just having to put the guys in and that's demoralising for the players.
If Dockers beat the Eagles easily then Defcon 2. I think we're getting thrashed out of the middle. Then in the ball movement we've been totally found out. Sides have worked us out. We're now being forced wide and can't go down the middle.
Barra is the only one who asked the right questions. You cant sugar coat these performances anymore. Im an eagles supporter but treating them like a protected species is partly the problem with them as well.
The Eagles are supposed to be in a rebuild yet we are still to see are younger players play a full game of football, this team will finish last again unless something is done.
Draper was robbed of the nomination. His performance against Sydney, he was all over the shop, he step in some big shoes to fill in lieu of Alex Pearce the captain.
