And what's your solution? MicroSoft has been a 3rd party publisher for years. Guess what? Sony is also a 3rd party publisher. The console gaming market is NOT big enough or rich enough to justify or sustain exclusivity so either something is done to expand the market, or prices rise dramatically. So...which do you prefer? Seeing XBox games on PS and vice versa? Or games costing $100-$150 each for the standard edition?

Now the brand is completely screwed unless they restructure their entire executive branch and basically start over, which they aren’t going to do. Forcing gamers to access the PS eco-system to play Sonys games isn't working out. PS ROI remains low even after a degree of improvement under Totoki. PS exclusives don't exist because Sony is putting them on other platforms to maximise sales....and even then, Sonys numbers remains low. Step by step, PS is on a slippery slope to fully embracing multi-platform releases.....because it has no choice. Investors want their money.
I've owned an Xbox from day 1 and I'm excited that Xbox's takeover/strategy of more money = more games is finally being served to us. I also own a PS5 which I rarely play because of Game Pass, which has had so many day 1 titles added to the service in the last few months! I actually feel sorry for PS5 owners who have to play social media because PS is struggling with their first party games output right now. So why not make millions of hungry gamers paying Xbox customers? 💵💰🍽️🤑

You could same money by playing Xbox & other day 1 releases on Game Pass, or you could buy all those games individually, is up to you. You might also want to consider PC since there are PS, Xbox, and a whole lot of other games on that platform which never make it to consoles.
Spot on.....by releasing on other platforms they gain 250-300 million new potential customers. They make 70% on that sales, before that it was 0% because those extra sales were non-existant. People still stuck in the old way, Xbox is ahead of the times as always. The rest will come to realize this and follow eventually.

Some gamers have difficulty understanding that software sales & services are what makes the money, not console sales. Consoles are just a platform for software sales & services. Selling your goods on more platforms has the potential of more money. More sales/money is what funds more games, which is why my PS5 is now an Xbox.
Xbox is also throwing away their cut of the store though. Do you think anyone on PS5 or Nintendo or a PC is going to interact directly with an Xbox purchasing ecosystem? No, they aren't. So, Microsoft is sacrificing their 30% cut from third party title, DLC, and MTX sales. Are those same people going to sub to GamePass? With the exception of PC, probably not. The MS bean counters must have determined that this is all fine, but they are literally asking people to leave their ecosystem to go somewhere else. Contrast that with Valve who has always just made their money on basically third party titles (with a few first party exceptions), DLCs, and MTX. They are thriving! They did make the Steam Deck with most likely the intention of driving more sales to their ecosystem. But guess what, the Steam store is on the device. Valve isn't dumping billions on games, R&D, manufacturing, or acquisitions and then send everything off their platform. Microsoft can do that because they have god-tier levels of disposable cash. But if we isolated Xbox as a business group, I don't think the balance sheet would look very good. And if that department doesn't prove that they are worthwhile, they run the risk of getting Zune'd or Windows Phone'd.

Microsoft didn't have any intentions of this news dropping but it did. Then they were forced to embrace it and accelerate their plans which they didn't want to do
Its like Microsoft's PC side. They make decent windows PC's but you can buy any hardware you'd like, because at the end of the day, Microsoft's bread and butter has always been software, their hardware is just another means of facilitating it.

It's important to remember Sony bought a studio specifically to make PC ports. As far as I'm aware Microsoft hasn't done that. They're trying to make brand new games on top of cherry picking which titles need to go multi platform. They're the biggest publisher in gaming. They have to operate all of their content appropriately.

It feels like the shift to a 3rd party approach will help Xbox to focus more on quality games, which is what Phil has been pushing for while he's pushing since being head of Xbox.
Msft tried to make their final push with the old strategy with Starfield. The gamepass numbers likely never popped off & so now Phil is taking the brand multiplatform. It’s just the way it is now. Either deal with it or jump out a window 🤷♀️. Sadly some folks still running around with their hair on fire. Is Xbox going multiplat our first choice , hell no. The term 3rd party in gaming relates to a company that makers and sells only games and distributes them on more than one platform. Xbox makes hardware just like Sony so thats why the are multiplatform publishers. Also Phil did AGAIN say not all games are going to be relased on all platforms... its release some games and see how it goes... Its been the same message hes been saying for nearly 2 years.. hes saying expect more to be on other devices.. doesnt mean all!! i find it odd that everytime the same thing is said, content creators all say this is new or confirmed. Also with the new restructure at Sony, they have pretty much said they are now focusing on improving profit margins which leads into the next interesting comment... we are aggressively moving into a multi platform approach to help bring our games to more people.. Its all about profit margins as Playstations has been dropping year on year.... which is now at 6%. Playstation are copying xbox and soon we will see the first ps game on xbox.. im predicting Helldivers 2 with Spiderman 2018 being the other... Ted Price just left insomniac and his strong stance has always been our games are never going to Xbox... interesting.
Now PlayStation just needs to get with the program and they can see all the money they'll make if they just stop being stuck in the past....just saying

I agree. But im not even paying for ultimate anymore. Its just not worth it to me anymore. Too many crap games and its too expensive.
To be fair Phil also said during those interviews that not everything is going to PlayStation. So while some are I still believe new IPs and original Xbox exclusive games will not PlayStation
@@TheCraig3000 he was referring to older titles in franchises that don't make sense to send over for lack of sales and also smaller projects they don't feel they need to multiplat to save on extra developement time. Everything else big is going over

It feels like the shift to a 3rd party approach will help Xbox to focus more on quality games, which is what Phil has been pushing for while he's pushing since being head of Xbox.

Msft tried to make their final push with the old strategy with Starfield. The gamepass numbers likely never popped off & so now Phil is taking the brand multiplatform. It’s just the way it is now. Either deal with it or jump out a window 🤷♀️. Sadly some folks still running around with their hair on fire. Is Xbox going multiplat our first choice , hell no. Msft will continue to make mistakes but hopefully they try hard to not make them 😂

Xbox has been a multiplatorm publisher for years. Playstation have been a multiplatform publisher for years too.
The term 3rd party in gaming relates to a company that makers and sells only games and distributes them on more than one platform. Xbox makes hardware just like Sony so thats why the are multiplatform publishers.
Also Phil did AGAIN say not all games are going to be relased on all platforms... its release some games and see how it goes... Its been the same message hes been saying for nearly 2 years.. hes saying expect more to be on other devices.. doesnt mean all!!
i find it odd that everytime the same thing is said, content creators all say this is new or confirmed.
Also with the new restructure at Sony, they have pretty much said they are now focusing on improving profit margins which leads into the next interesting comment... we are aggressively moving into a multi platform approach to help bring our games to more people..
Its all about profit margins as Playstations has been dropping year on year.... which is now at 6%.
Playstation are copying xbox and soon we will see the first ps game on xbox.. im predicting Helldivers 2 with Spiderman 2018 being the other... Ted Price just left insomniac and his strong stance has always been our games are never going to Xbox... interesting.
Now PlayStation just needs to get with the program and they can see all the money they'll make if they just stop being stuck in the past....just saying
