I was never into excess but the way he valued and took advantage of every inch of the space with calculated thought made it ok for a minute.
Yeah, it's not like some LA people that make huge spaces look like absolute kitchy trash. I love this.
Why is it excess? Because you can't possibly imagine living in similar conditions doesn't make it "excess".
Those curtains with the cutouts and the light coming through were amazing. Almost futuristic. I had to rewind just to see them again.
It's an Eames design
Same!
that´s the most beautiful home i´ve ever seen. That will be mine one day. I just let this message here in order to look back on it when that happens
Egido Val That will be mine one day :D we have to negotiation about it :D
I'm guessing that Ian doesn't do the dusting there.
I have watched approx 1038 homes on you tube, and I have finally found my favourite.
I have no words to describe this home, besides stunning, absolutely stunning! The vast space and openness so high up,, like your in the clouds. The furniture, the decor, a work of art.
Oh good God, finally I click on a video on the list that isn't directed by Matthew Donaldson and there are shots that ACTUALLY SHOW THE HOUSE. It was obvious from the first seconds.
Who???
The most beautiful home I‘ve seen in my whole life! The tree inside is just incredible.
I have had the pleasure of delivering a school careers talk with Ian he is such a lovely down to earth man.it mad to see this video knowing he lives in such opulence the suff of dreams.
"Although I was told by my carrees teacher not to set my sights too high,
I now live in a skyscraper and have a 7 meters high indoor garden."
the moment i saw the trees inside the house i almost died
why?
This is by far my top 2 in the Architecture series!
which one is the first?
MoMo K this one is my fav too!! I just love this one! I wonder how amazing it would be to witness sunset through those big giant windows! 😍😍
"The (IRA) bomb allowed us to break that, and create visual and physical permeability to the north". Architects are a strange breed.
yeah, thought that was a load of tosh.
how do i become this rich
You join the Freemasons and bleed everyone else dry
you sell your soul . try with soros ?
Work hard but most importantly work smart. The world is full of opportunity you just have to find yours.
i like your question. inquiring other places too
Keep watching youtube videos
"I just see myself of the equivalent of an artist or musician." If you've ever heard the tower in the wind you'll know he is a musician, just not a very good one.
Yes I found this comment of his quite intriguing.. "contributing to the regeneration of place." Well that's funny seeing as your artistic product is a massive iconic structure which contributes to regeneration/gentrification and making Manchester an iconic, business "place," and you, the artist, sit on top of it!!
This isn't Kevin abstract
Beetham Tower marks the beginning of the end for Manchester and it's absurd amount of luxury (unaffordable) apartments/hotels (and architecturally unpleasant cityscape)
Couldn't agree more. The Beetham Tower needs a giant eye that is on fire on top of it looking down over the city...
From what I hear the regeneration has done more kill the place than help it.
@@finnersmcspeed5646 You wont' be saying that if you had the money to afford to live there...lol
Total rubbish about the regeneration killing the place - Manchester still has many problems, but it’s far better now than it was. The Manchester of the 70s, and 80s that I grew up in was a dump. Dirty, loads of derelict buildings, no jobs (I had to leave the city to find work). Today there are thousands of highly skilled well paid jobs in the city, and I’m once again working back in Manchester, despite its problems, I’m proud of what’s been achieved so far with the regeneration.
It's breathtaking, like living in a luxury hotel. But there's only one dilemma- if you live alone, who needs so much space? Unless you're entertaining on a frequent basis.
I know he has at least one daughter... 😝
I’d never live in a place like this, as much luxurious as it looks. I want to keep my feet on the ground, on earth and not in a glass box.
Looks so amazing! Would be a dream come true to see it in real life
I was lucky enough to it is incredible just fabulous
I saw it up close yesterday, it's amazing
It’s incredible- the collection of art, glass, furniture- its mind blowing my beautiful in reality.
What a great use of money. I love everything about this place. Amazing!!!
wow ian aka kevin abstract earned a whole lotta throughout that new RCA deal lol
I have the best view on Manchester from my room. And Beetham tower just looks absolutely amazing.
Just thinking of all the homeless and the people who can't afford to heat their tiny flats and houses this winter makes this so obscene.
Amazing. Beautiful edit.
Fair play that is an amazing space. Fun and inventive.
beautiful! looks like a sanctuary
F***! This home is amazing! Wow one of the top homes in this series so far for me. 🥰
Wow what a home!
Spectacular place. ..
What happens when those trees grow ? And what about the roots ? How can one have a forste in a building ??
Olive trees tend to be short and slow growing.
I was thinking about that too, roots can break through structure,,ever notice what it does to a sidewalk?!
mason s. You can have trees. It depends on the building and the type of tree.
This building is now literally falling to bits.
is it wow...
@@chloebates9112 Yes, the window panels from the curtain wall are falling out/in danger of falling out.
The lobby roof leaks when it's raining and the lobby is full of horrid looking plastic buckets to catch the rain water.
Amazing.
My-dream-home-really!
Love it
what a house.
Lovely, but I always ask myself....how do they clean the windows outside?
Nice!
Just wow.
Should have filmed this on a windy day, when Angry Beetham is howling. I wonder what it sounds like in there then?
Oh wow, is it really that bad?? What exactly is the problem with the building?
The blade on the top of the tower makes a humming noise in certain windy conditions. It doesn't happen often and I've never heard it but I know a few people who say they have but they live closer than me.
There's a triplex apartment below this and the ceiling heights are a damn disgrace. Some architect we have here.
Espectacular, como todos sus videos!!!
Its unbeliebable 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
omg I love kevin abstract!!!
I love this series, but I see these massive windows and all I can think about is, "the price of those custom curtains are probably a year worth of my car payments."
THAT GARDEN THO
Absolutely Beautiful!!
Gesamtheitlich schön , allerdings bin ich nicht mehr der Freund von den kalten Glas- Stahlfassade der Hochhäuser. . Innenräume und Innendekor TOP!
I live on this tower, 26th floor, not as nice as this ofc but the view!
And i live in the white house. it is excually not that white as people say
beautiful apartment
glamorous
Love the dining area but, it has a slight industrial feel to it. Not a big fan.
with its polished floors and iconic furniture, to me it looks like an expensive saloon selling furniture.
there is not any sign that it is a cozy home.
WELL SAID BUUUT A WEIRD USERNAME YOU OWN
fabulous
مريح للأعصاب
INCREDIBLE❣😍😍😍
take my money i want this is stunning
Awesome
Stunning beautiful
insanely beautiful!
The real life High-Rise
Does anyone know the name of the tune used as soundscape?
Another Version of you Chris Zabriskie - Its used in a movie and I can't figure out which
wrong, it's Soundscraper hehehe@@eddie-vm7cj
Damn!
haha, I like those trees within skyscraper ,... what about grass ?!?
YOU HAVE SOME GRASS ? HMU
Music?
If earthquake comes!
Britain is not in a seismic activity zone
How do you put trees up there?
The tress were craned in before the roof was built.
wow
I'm in love 🙌😩❤
I was waiting for his anderiod servant to bring him a cup of tea...
kevin??
some have so much,,,,,others have so very little.....life is weird.
What am i doing in this planet?
He really is into furniture...
anyone else thought this was a brockhampton vid or sum shit or am i high
He maybe a 'renowned architect' but Beetham tower is easily one of Manchester's greatest eye-sores.
Nice to see he's got something out of it though.,
+Chris Jones People hated the Eiffel tower. It's already an icon of the Manchester skyline and will remain one
+Hubert well said
Did I actually just read, you comparing that thing, to the 'Eiffel Tower'? Lol....
Chris Jones He has a very good point, you hate it now but generations to come it will be what people think of when they think of Manchester
@@Yung_Mango When they want to mock it !
Beautiful but how i can cleaning this all...💖
The rich really are different.
Defo Council Flat “that”
Beautiful, but unnecessary big.
A trip to a boot sale would improve things, a few less nick-nacks cluttering the place please.
I wouldn't exactly call them knick-knacks,some of that glassware is priceless....and then there's always the question of personal taste .....as the old proverb says,"What's one man's meat ,is another man's poison" .
@@dorisgage9726 The price is not always a good indicator, it was (a) the quanitity and (b) the lack of relationship of the items to each other and the space they were in. Perhaps editing and consideration was what I found lacking.
I'm working next to it , it just awful and boring buildings with big glasses and nothing really special!
$ow muc$ ??$$
Badly designed building with major faults with the glass etc and ongoing legal disputes. This chump is responsible for the Majority of the badly designed sky Kennels in Manchester. Bland and an eyesore on the built environment.
one of the ugliest buildings ever. no emotion and a very arrogant vibe
Totally agree. Let’s just put trees inside in it to make it more lively lol
the buillding is ugly as f. But he managed to build himself a nice nest , yet the uglyness is for the people to admire everyday, he gets the view. I don't like this in modern architecture. Beauty should be for everyone.
🤑🤑
high enough to avoid CARING ABOUT THE REST OF SOCIETY. PEOPLE THAT CANT EVEN AFFORD A NEW CARDBOARD SHEET TO SLEEP ON THE STREET AND IT IS NOT ALWAYS CAUSED BY THEIR LAZINESS OR STUBBORNESS. CONSIDER THIS MR. SIMPSON .. FUNNY NAME THO!
Simpson sees himself as 'an artist' but then he comes up with some awful projects that lack any architectural value, one port street, swan house, first street south, transition, three 60... the list goes on and on. Sadly his unimaginative and dull architecture is now dominant in Manchester - a place with an incredible architectural heritage that is not being respected. Of course this isn't London where budgets are higher but this mediocrity needs to be stopped. I think it's really time to give some younger minds a chance since Simpson is really failing to deliver anything other than a square block with windows on it.
This guy is not an architect .. his ego is bigger than mars and he is quite selfish talking about architecture.
Hideous, horrendous eyesore with no "design" at all, no imagination or creativity. Horrible.
Poor trees trapped in that ugly building.
Ugly house
