Oh my brother! I forgot how wonderful RUclips can be. You have blessed my socks off! I just bought another grease gun today, and almost could not get that thing off of the first fitting I put it on. So I did not give it a chance on a second one. Snitch you blessed me with this video, I’m going to order one tonight. Thank you and God bless you.
You can adjust the amount of grab on the fitting coupler by loosening up the barrel fitting on the hose a touch. I have mine set at half a turn loose & only tighten it when I have the 90° adapter on the end or am on a fitting that is hard to get. When greasing, I seldom have my hand on the barrel. Just push it against my hip, shin, ground, etc & operate the handle. That only works due to the fact that I have a rubber hose on my guns. As for the nipples breaking off, it happens. That's why there's quite the reserve of new ones on hand here. Also can't sell me on the idea of using a grease gun that takes cartridges. Been bucket pump only & that's the way it will stay. Regards!
I’ve had the same issues as well! I like the lock n lube for the most part. There are a few places I’ve found that the diameter of the tip prevents me from getting on the fitting. In that case I’ll just grab a standard grease gun and hit those.
Got my lock n Lube grease gun coupler in the mail today. Greased my bush hog and finishing mower a few minutes ago, and it only took a few minutes. Very simple, I should have bought one of these couplers years ago!
On your Krone pto shaft, do you grease the zerk on the outside of the knuckle? From my understanding this zerk will grease all four contact points on the u joint. A lot easier to use then the one you broke off in the center of the u joint. I have a kit of various zerks that comes in handy when they do break. I love my lock and lube. Like others have said can use it for all but it works great.
I've noticed the same thing about the tips getting stuck, and just thought it was because the tips were new and maybe the old ones were worn down some. Lock N Lubes work great, but there are a few places I can't fit either one they offer, so I keep one grease gun with a regular tip on it.
Same here Chris. I think the worn out tips of the ones that don’t stay on the fitting a new tip should snap on and stay on and you shouldn’t have to hold it on and have to purchase a locking type grease gun fitting
Your old grease gun hose tip is retractable. turn (open) the tip to its widest position and place it onto the zerk then turn the hose tip to tighten (Lock) the hose tip around the zerk (nipple) and grease away. Yes, I have been using the same grease for fifty years and just discovered why I was struggling so much.
My lock and lube gun that I ordered never worked I did use the tip for quite a while and they do wear out and they are too big to get into a lot of areas and when your hands get greasy it actually becomes pretty tough to actuate that lock to get it on and off it will stick at times also. The lever action guns still pump a lot more grease there a lot stronger than the pistol grip so I’ve been buying guns from American lubrication products and just buying good tips that will snap on and hold on Milwaukee tools makes a really good tip for their grease guns and I’ve been using those you’re supposed to snap it on the cirque in an angle and bend it off to snap it off the grease cirque that’ll help break them off I read where you’re not supposed to push it straight on
For sure the standard grease gun in a bugger to work with. I tried a different company that offers the clamp on style, I got three of them, one wouldn't run grease through it after a little use the other leaked at all joints in the clamp mechanism and tightening didn't help it. So I am seriously looking at lock n lube now. Oh and the other company the round part is too big to fit into some of the holes the zerk it in. lock n lube seems to be more slender. I have to call the company and ask question. I like the plastic tubes they offer too with the necked down screw on cover. Also with the hand grip compared to the lever my hand gets tired after much greasing. I like the lever.
I think we have all ran into this problem, I just bought a new grease gun and it’s replacing the old “worn out one” life’s great right! Wrong most of not all of the guns tips are made in ccp The retention mechanism is rough and too stiff for the zerks breaking them off That puts us back searching for an American built product that works correctly Or like most of us going back to what we thought was wore out and still works after decades of service Happy Harvesting

I never realized that I just went and looked it up and saw a video on it all those years thanks for the info
