My favorite Skeletor in the line so far! Bought an additional Keldor cape a while back for this very figure. I definitely recommend giving him a Keldor cape, it really completes this guy.
I like this more than the standard Origins Skeletor. The more muted colors and the better portrait work for me.
Totally agree
I'd love to see 200X style Beast Man! Hard to imagine Mattel putting in that kind of effort though considering how hulking and huge 200X BM was...
I was so excited for this figure to mix and match parts to make an accurate keldor. That keldor is now one of my favorite figures in the line after doing that
Have you heard the news from Hasbro they are making action figures of Dungeons and Dragons from 1983 animated series! Wave 1 has Hank the Ranger, Bobby the Barbarian with Uni, Diana the Acrobat and The Venger and Dungeon Master 2 pack. I think Wave 2 will have Sheila the Thief, Presto the Magician and Eric the Cavalier.
I didn't know that they made a keldor in this line. I diffenty want one now
Can’t believe you actually still upload, it’s been years since I watched you!
I tried the Keldor cape on this 200x Skeletor and it looks pretty good.
Honestly my only real gripe with this one is the hood sculpt. Luckily I have lots of options there
I always love comparison time! I have the original 200X Skeletor figure myself. Now I definitely want to get my hands on this new Origins style figure. Great review!
Yeah, totally agreed here. I liked how they did 200X He-Man and the accessories, but Skelly's lack of new staff really disappointed me. Plus the non-separating sword, though to a lesser extent.
I've been debating picking them both up when I have the funds and doing a little touching up with some Warhammer paint, myself.
I wonder why they didn't update his harness and staff.... His stuff is just as different as he man's. I understand the missing paint apps as that does sell the vintage aesthetic.
Geez it's been so long since I've seen a 200x version of skeletor, and boy does he have a tiny head!!
Skeltor's sword should have split. I don't care as much about the havoc staff, but the sword. Otherwise this is the best skeletor in the line. I think it helps that more of the new figures are muting the bright colors the earlier releases had.
My favourite version of SKELETOR. A miss on the weapons but putting the 200x staff and sword from the vintage figure fixed that, and the armor and head from the New Eternia Skeletor.
Amazing!
I'm not so sure about newer figures being done in a retro style. For me origins was great as it was authentic to the original figures but also improved them. The more modern figures don't really benefit from being taken back to a retro styling that they never actually had.
My only complaint is his havoc staff more than the sword. He-Man came with both 200x accessories while Skeletor got screwed on his. I wouldn't have minded a completely purple deco for that. STILL putting a spare Keldor cape on this figure does give him such a better presence too. I actually love the face sculpt on him.
I have him mastervers skeletors cape.
Love these videos
Pixel Dan, it’s been 8 years. I used to be afraid to say your name because it sounded like pixel damn
Good review as usual
A good effort, they are really going all out for the anniversary
I would buy this if it had a white face and a cape as the TV version had. I don't mind the feet or even the sword that much but the lack of these two things makes me feel that this is not the version that is advertised on the card. This is a hybrid version of the classic (not Classics) Skeletor and the 200X version which is simply not to my taste. Also, I don't know if it's the lighting or the camera mode but your Origins Skeletor looks much brighter than mine.
ill take as many masters figures as possible!!! getting these figures 40 years later is a dream come true!!!! and congrats on your win against matt cardona!!!
You Could Always Paint The Horns On The Havok Staff.
I find it a little odd that Evil-Lyn was the first 200x character to come out in the Origin line
Not that surprising actually, her figure was a simple repaint that didn't need any new parts. It's odd, but it's a logical choice from a toy manufacturing point of view
@@gianluca.pastorelli Good point. Never really thought of that. I just meant from the popularity stand point I found it odd. You'd figure the main hero and villian would have been the first ones.
You still reviewing Origins figures Dan? You should do one long video and catch up on the last 2 waves and exclusives.
I gotta find and get one of these
This look is more intimidating with the eye design
Anyone else seen the sun man three pack yet? The one with pig head, sun man and space sumo. Just got him on Sunday.
picked one up my self a couples days ago 👍
@@tommywalker5348 looks like we both don’t need to wait on Mattel creations for space sumo
My Keldor is currently holding the twin swords from the MOTUC weapons pack. I thought I could pass on this Skeletor, but now that I know the loincloth is removable, I am absolutely picking this up to add a little spice to Keldor!
I get it with the weapons, but I love this line, they are cutting costs, but it’s supposed to be based on vintage.
I'm thinking of getting a second of the 2 pack and the 200X Skeletor to make a 200X Keldor. heat up the feet in water, swap the feet on the Skeletor shins for the Keldor boots. swap the shins and armor from the 200X Skeletor onto Keldor
For the sword my guess is maybe they lost the mold for that piece it didn’t have time to re-create it considering that he-man is mostly about reusing parts at least when it comes to the toys I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch to think plus that sword was supposed to be a reference to the original toy line you know we’re he-man and this guy had to have the same sword
I'm holding out for USA cards.
Skeletor Looks Good. I Like It.
When I first saw this announced i was kind of underwhelmed but once i had it in hand i loved it
That is a great skeletor
Looks wicked just wish my 4 year old self could see it. He was my favourite toy
The 200x figures will be getting some companions next year with Snake Armor He-Man and Skeletor and Serpent Claw Man-at-Arms.
Sharp Looking Figure
I really Love it!!! ❤️⭐️💯
They should have given the figure a white face. Like in the MYP cartoon.
Keldor DOES come with the loincloth :)
I really like the headsculpt. Wanred to pass on the figure, but something about the colouring made me get it anyway. And about that missmatched colours of the skintone in comparison to the Keldor... Wow, what were they thinking?
Epic
WOW!
I gotta say the 2002 lines Skeletor is my favorite version of him, but I never liked how small his head was. So I'm glad this figures head is more on line of what I feel he should be. As for the swords, considering how the original intent was for the split sword was supposed to be the sword of power in the MYP series, that Skeletor managed to get both halves. Which is why He-man had a techno sword because Man-at-arms made that for him to still call upon Greyskull's power. But that background idea was scrapped and instead Skeletor just had a pair of swords. So I like how this is just a evil version of a whole power sword.
We need 200X in MASTERVERSE!
Can you put the cape from Keldor on the 200X Skeletor?
Still hoping for a proper 200x Evil-Lyn and a Filmation Skeletor. Even a Filmation Evil-Lyn w cape would be cool
I Had The 2002 Skeletor Figure, And He Man.
I know the first 4 pack bombed, but I would love a Skeletor anniversary set with this guy+some improved paint apps.
Especially since it's just a repaint, I'd have happily sacrificed the staff for swords that separated
Does the 200x havoc staff fit the new skeletor?
I agree, the 200X head looks sort of odd on a vintage 80s style body, but it’s not terrible…just different. Wasted opportunity on the accessories, much like with 200X He-Man. Still, overall a neat-looking figure. Will be interesting to compare alongside my MOC Skeletor from 2002!
Think it looks great. Although I didn’t follow this show or line outside of the 80s like I did with some other stuff.
So my opinion doesn’t count I think lol as I didn’t watch the 2002 series.
But I think if you remove yourself from that, and just look at this as a classic figure with some updates? I think it’s awesome looking.
I may pick up a set of 200x skeletor and heman
Hey, Pixel Dan! Big Bad Toy Store recently promoted MOTU stands in four colors - will you be doing a review???
I hope we get a 200x style Mer Man!
Shame that the accessories are kinda lame. On the bright side it’s more possible to make a custom Disco Skeletor repaint now. Or maybe that can be a official repaint (it better not be exclusive to a weirdly specific store though).
I'm right there with you on the lack of weapons detail... that's a HUGE miss for me with this figure. Past that, I like this figure as a random dimension Skeletor, but adding 200X on it... irks me as it doesn't read 200X to me. I can't quite put my finger on it, but oy... it bothers me. I probably will get the figure anyway as I can't help but collect nearly every Skeletor variation I run across (I collect a lot of He-Man as well, but I'm far more picky on designs with him). I hope the Masterverse version will do the 200X characters more justice.
The Hood Tone Looks A Little Different From The Armour.
Hordas create the Keldor turns into the Skeletor.
Origins and 200x are almost the same height, I remember those like being taller and bigger.
This one really needed a cape.
I only grabbed Pig-Head from this wave but I did think Skeletor looked really rad. I have no nostalgia for 2002/x though so I guess I didn’t see these problems hah
Hello pixel dan. Sir , I have a quetchen. 2 month ago you made the video for the comic con. In this video you wore the shirt with the SKELETOR / FRANK LANGELLA. Please, can you tell me where to get this ? Thanks in advance , best regards from germany Pat.K. ✌
I hope to see 200X Jitsu in MOTU Origins Style EXCELSIOR😎🤠🥋✋
Hi Dan, love your hardcover Toys of He-Man book - hoping to see a volume 2 with everything happening now in a few years, particularly Origins! Even just an Origins book; such a fantastic line.
I like the 200x Skeletor better because he looks like something Todd McFarlane would of done at the time.
The Hood looks like a damm Helmet
Hopefully eventually we'll get a disco skeletor repaint of this figure (probably would be a Mattel creations exclusive ugh)
Hi Pixie Can.
Needs a cape but otherwise a very good figure! Love the 200x design
Because they didn't add one I just swiped Keldor's.
Is it weird that I wanted to see disco skelator first
I prefer the blue... He's corrupted and reanimated life...
Probably would have blown the tooling budget but this figure really needed a new chest piece that goes over the back at least a little. The 'apron' design of Skelly's gear drives me nuts. Still, I love that these 200x guys exist.
I think the hood is okay. Maybe not perfect but okay. I also have no issue with the sword. The original sword always fell apart. I think it's a decent figure. The face sculpt and the paint job on the face of the original origins Skeletor was just horrible.
I just wish the skin tone were more like Keldor´s or Keldor´s skin were more like this figure´s very light blue.
Fun Fact! Kronis is the worst MOTU figure ever released.
Wow. Mattel got lazy. The feet and especially the havoc staff are completely wrong, the 200X origins He-Man is sub-par too. They should never have attempted this. The definition of a cash-grab.
I always thought 200x heads were to small for their bodies
