Caroline Aherne was a genius. She could write, direct and create such iconic characters such as Mrs Merton. Lisa Stansfield is lovely, down to earth and clearly has a god sense of humour.
Lisa is so underrated as a singer she was a lotta peoples gateway from other Genres of music like Vocal Pop and Soul into dance and house music because her music combines all these elements and more it was perfect timing for her music to come out right before house and dance music explosion during the early 90's happened and its what people wanted at the time so she is a bit of a pioneer in that regard and her album Affection is still good from start to finish.

I’m sure Lisa has watched this herself more than once, her and Caroline became friends during this period up until Caroline died and Lisa’s mum and mother in law were both on the show - all sadly gone today. This is the best interview Lisa has given (she was obviously enjoying herself) and it’s a classic edition of the Mrs Merton show. Lisa, all the best to you. Caroline, you were wonderful and a genius to boot. I used to watch this show with my mum and we roared with laughter together. I miss you mum.

@@RodrickColbert I understand, this show was famous in the ‘90’s because of the host - Lisa got off light, and she obviously enjoyed herself and loads of celebrities wanted to appear on the show knowing full well what they were letting themselves in for. Other guests had a harder time. Look for the interview with Micheal Winner - very funny, but it cut to the bone.
Lisa could barely finish a sentence -- the lady interrupted her over and over. One of the worst interviews ever. I wanted to hear what Lisa had to say, not the host.
It's a comedy programme. Caroline Aherne (Mrs Merton) was a big fan and later a friend of Lisa's. If that hadn't been the case she wouldn't have even been on the show as she had nothing to promote. If you want to watch a real interview there are many around.
