Mam if putting bindi is good then in Hinduism why bindi is removed from the forehead of widow ???
*@P P.* Because red colour & Sindur are the symbols of marriage for wómén in Hinduism, that's why bindi & Sindur are removed from the forehead of widow.
It's also a part of shringar (decoration) of a suhagan (married woman). So after husband dies she can't do it. That's why her sindur is wiped away bangles are broken and bindi is removed. No colorful clothes allowed. Some people even shave her head. She then lives a very simple colorless life.
This used to happen a lot in the OLDEN DAYS. very few people follow it now. Idk about villages but in cities most people don't follow all this anymore...

It’s a cultural practise with no science involved
Obsolete tradition mostly. Before when there were no pads and people were living one with nature .there would be times where the blood smell would attract reptiles and insects which can cause harm. The mentality then was" i have so many kids loss of one life is better than loss of most " add to that there was the stigma of having a female child who was considered a burden on the family if she is harmed then there is not a big loss. So the girl would be made to sleep in a hut on the onskirts of the village .

Because digestion in stomach works in an acidic medium and if we drink water immediately after taking a meal,the digestion process is hampered and it slows down which generally causes indigestion.
