I tried the broom handle trick and couldn’t get it on followed by trying to get my arm far enough in to just put it on with my hand. Fail. The last thing I tried was I used the shifter bar, the one with the two balls on it. With the bushing on that it went on first try. Just wanted to let future folks know! Thanks again for the video
Nice Video! That metal bushing seems to work for some folks and not for others. Not sure if people are grinding it to make it work, or what. Wondering if you thought the inside diameter of it was correct?
I used a hammer to tap it in. I am having a problem with the ball seating properly. The bushing seems to leave about 1/16" more space as it is pushed down. Not sure if that would make a difference...
Thanks for the video my shifter just started making this noise and I was wondering what it was. The piece that didn’t fit, did you order the wrong one? Is there a correct one to order?
Hey Joe, The website says it’s universal, and I’m positive it’s the correct one. There are no other bushings on the site. Honestly not sure where to get the correct one. I’ll try to contact vanagain.
Any chance you could put part links or numbers?
Nevermind! found it
Ok, it is also at the end of the video.

Great solution, I think the broom works great if you heat up the bushing first. Glad you figured it out.
Dude! Broom stick handle was brilliant!
Awesome thinking with the broom stick! I really don't want to drop my tank- you've given me hope :)
Sweet idea with the broom stick! Have the same issue and waiting for the parts to come in
Thanks! finally a helpful video on this!
Awesome! I am dropping the fuel tank soon, so I would be doing this too!
Thanks for sharing 🙌
Brilliant video thank you, who’s manual is it? It actually looks useful unlike a lot of them👍
