There’s hundreds of square miles where there is no snow and fresh water lakes free of ice according to the the US Navy. They were discovered in the 1940’s during Operation High Jump and shown in the academy award winning film “The Secret Land”.

The Shoes, Pans, and Coats all use some type of air pump device. A friend of mine said that the suite would save you better than the new suites of today. The Planet was much colder than today. I've been packing it around for some 30 years, but the suite is older than that I think.

There's more than enough drama naturally in the landscape/icescape and the scientists' activities. This docu was spoilt, IMHO, by the melodramatics: silly sfx, intrusive 'music' and choppy, poppy scenes. I gave up regular tv too for these and other reasons.

The reason it's relatively free of human clutter bases and settlements from different countries is cost to set up bases and very rough living conditions. "135.8 degrees below zero." That sure sounds cold but since he didn't give any units, we'll never know WHAT IT IS! How hard is it to say? It's either C or F. The only thing we can be sure of, it isn't Kelvins. Bloody humans.

Developed countries: America, Russia, Europe, China, India...
They race to live on a dead planet, while large parts of their countries are burning and other parts are drowning... and they stand helpless in front of that as they stood helpless in front of the Corona virus pandemic!!!
Because... the Progress in life may not be a process of acquiring or exploring new things, but rather a process of letting go of old mistakes and seeing with new eyes.

The temperature given is in Celsius unless otherwise stated. The US is the only place I know that still uses (US) Gallons, Pints, Feet and inches, Fahrenheit, Pounds Ounces. Btw the standard for Gold is Troy Ounces, not Ounces. Thats for Selling AND Buying Gold and for estimating Reserves.

At 4:14, there is a very short clip of what looks like a Ritewing Z3 model aircraft or something very similar. Just curious as to what function it would serve out there since it wasn't shown in use during the length of the video. I fly the same plane more or so for recreation but were originally produced as mapping aircraft.
