- The Antarctic region is undoubtedly one of the most remote and inhospitable, yet one of the most beautiful landscapes of the world. This documentary takes us on a journey to the stormy isolated islands of the Southern Ocean. Seals, penguins, seabirds and numerous other animals live and breed in this hostile environment and harsh climate. Only by an icebreaker can we reach the remote coasts of the Antarctic continent where Emperor Penguins defy the life-threatening environment of the vast ice desert at the end of the world.

I can't unsee the pitiful baby chick that lost his parents and was starving to death. I know it is important to show how nature works but do we really have to watch the suffering of babies? You could talk about it but there is nothing we can do about it and I can't stand the thought of a helpless chick wandering around without someone to take care of it. Just sayin
Especially if the people filming this could have saved the chick"s life...
Great documentary. Narrator is on point. She has such incredible voice and talent. She's gloved- fit for being a narrator. Excellent work!
Can't thank you enough for all the hard work putting this documentary together, and all the others. It's as if I'm going on a field trip from the comfort of my home. What a beautiful Planet we have. Love these nature shows.

Sorry, 5 mins in and they invented a race of penguins. It's not Magellan but Magellanic penguins. Google it if you don't believe me. Oh, they also say summer in the south starts in November. WTF!? Just so you know, it's December 21st, right when summer starts north of the Equator. If they miss seasons by 6 weeks, how can I trust any information this documentary may offer?
