Andor Episode 11 Breakdown and MAJOR Easter Egg

- Опубликовано: 8 фев 2025
- with the climactic ending to episode 10 with all the prisoners escaping, Kino Loy staying back due to his fear of swimming, and the guards hiding in fear, we start tonight’s episode off immediately as Andor and Melshi, who is the main rebel leader that led the attack on scarif in Rogue One, hang from the side of the massive cliff as they evade the Empire searching for them.
Marva passes away, and we see the droid B2EMO very sad. I think B2EMO might have his consciousness put into a K2SO droid, making him K2SO from Rogue One who hangs with Cassian.
Vel visits Kleya in Luthen’s shop, and she’s abandoning all the rules by openly speaking about everything Luthen and the rebellion have been up to. Vel is tired of all the games, and continues to speak candidly about everything.
Bix comes out of torture and she’s hurt bad, the Empire shows no mercy. They ask her if she introduced Kreegyr to Cassian, and she remains silent, knowing that they’re going to continue the torture methods on her. She stands her ground and protects Cassian. She’s a strong woman.
Mon and Vel observe her daughter in some sort of cult with her friends chanting about the ways of the old Chandrilans. Super weird, it seems like she almost wants everything that Mon doesn’t want for her.
Mon tells Vel she’s basically being investigated with her bank accounts. That Tay, her friend, tried to help but only uncovered more of how in trouble she was. She found a solution but is cut off when her daughter walks in.
Syril is woken by his mother when the sergeant calls him in the middle of the night to inform him of Cassian’s mother’s passing, in the hopes that Cassian will attend. This is Syril’s chance to capture him and be in Dedra’s good graces, hopefully to be hired by the Empire’s ISB.
Cassian is back on Niamos, and finds his box of credits and his blaster that he left atop the shower in the hotel room from before he was arrested.
Luthen goes to meet Saw Gerrera, and tensions are high as Saw starts to think Luthen is working for the ISB. He suspects this because he doesn’t understand why Luthen knows so much about the ISB and their plans of attack. Luthen tells him that the ISB is waiting for Kreegyr. Saw sees that Luthen is going to let Kreegyr get caught. This raises many flags for Saw. Luthen wants the ISB to capture Kreegyr without telling him and saving him, because he wants the ISB to think the rebellion is sloppy and weak. He’s playing the long game.
Syril steals his mom’s credits and leaves, probably to survey Marva’s home.
Luthen talks to his assisstant, Kleya, and they talk in code about what needs to be done, when he’s intercepted by a massive Imperial star destroyer, this is an original concept design for a ISD ship from colin cantwell who did a ton of the concept art for the original trilogy.
That’s why they called it an arrestor cruiser, cantwell class, after colin cantwell. may he rip.
The Empire uses a tractor beam on Luthen’s ship, he eventually releases some shrapnel and destroys their tractor beam, forcing the tie fighters to hunt him down as we witness how good Luthen is at flying, destroying many of them, and then blasting into hyperspace, to safety.
Cassian calls his old buddy Xan to deliver a message to his mom, and he’s told that Marva has passed.
Cassian is shocked, he ends the transmission and goes out to the shore to meet with Melshi, as they shake hands and go their separate ways. Only to be reunited in Rogue One, where we see Melshi take a lot of risks to Cassian’s orders and we now know why, they have been through a lot together and survived.
Melshi talks about telling people about everything, and I think what’s going to happen now is that prisoners who escaped and survived, will go on to tell the press about everything the empire was doing in the prison. The only thing is, Palpatine controls the press. He controls the news. He controls what goes in or out, and he definitely wouldn’t let that get out.
The episode ends with Cassian looking out to a sunset, which is like the episode that had Marva looking out to a sunset, transitioning to Cassian looking out to a sunset, leaving Ferrix with Luthen in episode 3.

One thing I like about Andor is that it doesn’t insult the intelligence of the audience. As in, it doesn’t have the characters explaining their feelings or what their goals are and what not. It’s not just plain exposition just being thrown at you. Everything is explained more realistically. We’re learning as they’re learning and I appreciate the writers for that
In my opinion, this is the best written Star Wars content on screen. Notice I didn’t say the best…the best *written.*
The story-telling here has been on a level not seen in Star Wars before.
@@adamkeller4489 The writing is mediocre at best. You sure do have low standards
It is so cool to see such amazing audience responses, I definitely agree. This is the main thing that was lacking until now, and now it's being done superbly with new minor characters and side stories.
Imagine if we got such writing for the sequels and the main new series. And it would have been so much easier since having legacy characters is enough for many.
That is the main thing that made me such a huge Star Wars fan. I saw all six movies as a kid, and it felt unreal. Then when I rewatched it older I couldn't believe how much more story was there, all the scenes with serious themes and stories, George managed to make both, an amazing experience for adults and for kids.
With new Star Wars things from Disney, it feels like it insults even the children's intelligence
Why didn't Luthen let them board though? He wasn't Carrying anything illegal
Hard to believe Disney is involved… too bad the same writers weren’t used for the Sequel Tragedy
When Cassian finds out about his mother dying and goes to the shore and stares out to sea it reminded me of his very own final moments, on a shore staring out to sea :(
Loving Andor so far, i have no idea how its gonna end and I’m so here for it!
Only thing we know for sure is Cass survives and joins the rebellion, we have no idea who else makes it or what is the tipping point that makes him join! The tension and stakes are still there!
Edit: other legacy characters survive too (see comment below) I just meant the new characters like Luther Vel or Bix!
@@HiHi-lt1cb As well as Mon Mothma who goes on to lead the rebel alliance and bring down the empire. And Melshi who joins Andor’s later mission. Also Saw.
that’s exactly what i was thinking too i’m surprised he didn’t say that
@@chewy99. oh yes 😂😂
Same thought, his own death by a sea
Mon mothma sitting there crying that her daughter is about to go through what she went through ie forced marriage for the good of the rebellion, or Andor just spacing out with the shock of his mum's death, powerful quiet moments. So much attention to detail and Characterization. If Disney would give this level of care to other parts of Star Wars like the Jedi and action that you crave Theory, this franchise would thrive for the next 50 years. I love this show!
I honestly blame J.J Abrams. So much glitz very little substance. What he did to Star Trek is very similar.
@@noleftturnunstoned YES. Everyone talking about Rian Johnson, but not enough it said about overrated hack of a director JJ.
@Severian I agree with everything you said. I just think Andor should have had a moment to break down and cry. Instead of soldiering on. They made him seem cold to me. And this isn't an appropriate moment for that. The woman who raised him just passed away. And he wasn't there. He wasn't there to carry her out. It just didn't make any sense to show him like that.
@@demurevilleneuvewinslet8235 just because you'd break down and cry doesnt mean that would be everyone's reaction. People deal with tragedy and death in different ways: some, like cass, keep everything internalized.
@@demurevilleneuvewinslet8235 i dunno i think your just seeing how The Empire took so much from Cassian you see the rage slowly building into hating the empire when before he was just in it for the credits, i almost got the sense of they took so much from Cassian that he was all outta tears he really had nothing left not even a tear, The Empire is slowly moulding him into a cold calculating bad ass i kinda see Luthen as old Cassian and Cassian as young Luthen, i think its great :)
That final scene, with that soundtrack… great moment.
“People need to know about this”, a scene with the sole purpose of reminiscing the genocides that happened and how important is for them to be recognized. No cringe or cliché, just well putted.
Again, thumbs up for the directors. Can’t wait to see the finale.
which genocides are you referring to? I think he is referring to the unjust prison camp system
The music during that scene and the first part of the end credits is gorgeous, perfectly enhances the scene and emotions of the ending. I also appreciate that Andor on the seashore gazing out mirrors his death at the end of Rogue One.
@@spacecadet2172 The "let's split up" line that Melshi says is a direct reference to a WW2 story of two Jewish people who escaped the Nazi death camps and went on to begin exposing what was happening to the rest of the world.
@@spacecadet2172 I don't think it was a prison. It was a labor camp.
3:00 I don't think the fishermen had any intention of selling the prisoners to the empire, they were just messing with them in revenge for them trying to steal their ship. If Cassian and Meshi had just walked up to them and asked them for a lift off-planet they would probably have agreed anyway just to spite the empire.
Yeah that was the impression I got - they both had a wicked sense of humor and were enjoying Cassian and Meshi's squirming.
agree 💯
I rewatched it 3 times to figure out why they had the change of heart, and before reading what you said that was my thoughts exactly. They seem to have a culture that hints at Jamaicans who like to joke around a lot amongst one another.. when I rewatched and listened to the dialogue I realized he was thinking out loud like "Look what we got here a couple of prisoners eh, could get a few $$ for these ones?" "Yep, the empire. Killing everything, ruining our water, killing the fish." Then proceeds to let them go because he himself dislikes the Empire too. "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" and decides to help them since they were bold enough to escape from the prison. The thing is, if that dialogue dragged on, SWT would have likely said it "could have been done a lot quicker", so I mean hahaha.
Same goes with when SWT said that the stuff happening outside of Cassian stuff this episode, could have happened between the breakout scenes in the last one. I disagree, we didn't like how they cut up the Kenobi/Vader fight, and in this one they kept building the climax and it's a lot more effective that way. They've done everything write so far.
@@Scirollo W comment thanks for the explanation!
Absolutely, exactly how I read it
The scene where Luthen escaped from the imperial star destroyer was the best part of the episode. It shows that he was prepared for a situation like that considering he had the technology to get him a fake id in seconds and the counter attack weapons. So good.
And he didn't just instantly get away like anything in the sequels he felt believable when he was trying to escape using lots of different tactics that he layered on top to escape! Awesome scene and character imo.
Yeah that scene was epic. As much as I love the depth and character building in this show, I get hyped when you get to see some new Star Wars action scenes. After all, that's one of the main reasons why so many people fell in love with the franchise.
I literally threw my fists up in the air and said Y’all just got owned! That ship is legit.
If it was the Sequel Tragedy, Rey would have appeared out of nowhere to save him…
Then she’d get stuck in the tractor beam but use the anti-tractor beam mcguffin to escape while Finn screams “that’s not possible!!!!!”…
Five minutes later Finn will explain exactly how it works
@Jax Raiden Yeah that was dope. How he casually threw them off by saying he had some sort of malfunction or he didn't have crew as he was working on his escape. It was so cool!
This show is amazing, and it just continues to get better and better after each episode. The writing is top notch, the characters are fleshed out, the acting is insanely good, and the story is compelling. Only reason people aren’t giving Andor a chance is because its not centred around a well known character like Kenobi or Boba Fett to reel people in. Shame cuz people are really missing out.
Watch out, Theory might see this and disagree (Joking lmao) but same. I don't have a problem with this shows pace because it's a 2 season show of a rebellion member's origins. It's not Lightsabers and blasters, I get it, but it doesn't take away that it's aamzing.
I couldn’t agree more!!! This show is my favorite Star Wars content since Revenge of the Sith.
Couldn't AGREE more! This show I only got into this week and binged all 10 because I was worried it would be like the other shows (kenobi and bobf) but glad I checked it out it's easily the best series even over mando. Loving this show and gonna watch all 11 before 12 comes out.
Ye I haven’t seen the show just because I haven’t realy gotten around to it yet tbh its not really on my priority list but I truly believe the main reason people resent this show despite it’s obvious quality is because legendary characters characters that Disney paid billions for like obi wan kenobi and boba fett get shows treated with no love and care while the show about a side character that was created a few short years ago by Disney from a director who’s openly admitted to not liking Star Wars gets all the love care budget and episodes even tho the majority of long time George Lucas Star Wars fans who’s stack with Star Wars for years as childish as it sounds don’t care for a good non Star Wars feeling show because they feel disrespected I can guarantee you if kenobi was treated with more love and care or even if andor came out straight after mando s2 more people would open there arms to this show because that’s just how brand loyalty is most George Lucas Star Wars fans don’t like Disney or any of there original projects because respect goes both ways and they feel and have been disrespected and sadly a good show like andors suffered for it
@@repticare101 83% audience score. Vast majority of people who are watching it are enjoying it, the problem is many people aren’t giving it a fair chance. Never said you couldn’t have a good show without a familiar character, but having a infamous Star Wars character such as Kenobi or Boba Fett are obviously going to pull in more initial interest.
so many powerful moments that i feel are necessary to mention:
- cassian’s reaction to his mother’s death shook him to the core. everything that he had been going through and the message that he wanted to get across was completely left in the rear view. melshi is pretty adamant about spreading news about the prison, and he sort of brushes it off
- the entire standoff between luthen and saw gerrara is wrenching because we know that it won’t work. the way that saw is able to piece together luthen’s intentions is really powerful, and the stakes double down when saw agrees to play the long game
- mon mothma’s realization that she can’t do anything to stop her daughter to go down the path that she went down is heartbreaking because everything that we’ve seen from mon to this point in the story shows how she’s anti-establishment. she’s committed her wealth and influence to make a difference in the galaxy. seeing her come to grips with the fact that the only way to keep the Rebellion intact is to match her daughter away undoes years of hardship that she’s been through
the biggest thing with each of these scenes is that we can feel all of these emotions and understand what is at stake with these characters without them having to explicitly state it. in my opinion, this show has benefited tremendously in giving us drawn out episodes because we can feel truly connected and moved by these characters. while some viewers disregard these scenes as “filler”, i personally think that it gives us valuable exposure to characters, plot developments, themes, morals, plot complications, and the world around Andor.
It’s not flashy like Mando, and doesn’t have the general interest of Boba Fett or Kenobi. but i think that Andor has done something special by trusting the patience and maturity of the audience to really immerse themselves in the story, instead of just shoveling spectacle into our hungry mouths.
can’t wait to see where the finale could go.
One Way Out
I couldn't agree more! As much as I love theory it's a little frustrating to hear him lacking in interest to this simply because we don't have all the flagship characters involved. I wasn't excited for this show at all, but once I sat down and started watching it, I realized just how important and amazing it is!
Very well said, I think you can appreciate both the action and all the other episodes if you are invested in the series enough. I really love the way Andor is structured, one way out
Well said, I agree. Excellent Writing!
This is an example of word salad due to cognitive dissonance- you were triggered into cognitive dissonance because you believed the show would be good but it’s trash and you can’t handle it so you have to explain in word salad how it’s actually really good
@@bigbird2240 One of the stupidest things I've ever read, thank you for your contribution!

The Empire just Got Punk'd with Luthen's ship🤣
I feel that Mon's tears in the chanting scene show that she knows that she has to basically sell her daughter for the arranged marriage, that the Rebellion is more important than any one person, this episode was all about how sacrifices must be made for the greater good.
great catch
It really goes well with the end of the scene with Luthen and Saw. "For the greater good..." Call it what you want..." "Then let's call it... war."
Bratty daughter if you ask me. Maybe it's better to sell her off.
Can't believe Theory missed that...
The arranged marriage dilemma was just ripped out of Game of Thrones.
Top tier dialog, world building, character development and nuance. The writers don't insult the audience by serving easily digestible processed food on a silver platter, but rather invite the viewer to discern the implications and deeper meaning of the story and reflect on the connections to the lore and mythos hidden in plain sight. I love that they are taking their time with the characters and savoring every moment. You can't rush art, and it has been art. The reason why a lot of people are impatiently yearning for action is because they are expecting an action flick when it's a drama. They aren't appreciating the depth of the dialog and the development of the moving pieces. They are more focused on seeing things blow up. It's like in chess, when you have moved 15 times without taking a piece because you're positioning yourself favorably before the bloodbath. This show is that development and lead up to the events of Rogue One and Episode 4. This show will be much easier to watch for the impatient as a binge. Just wait till the entire season is out and treat it like a really long movie. 8/10 episode.
Excellent comment
“The writers don’t insult the audience…”
The audience saying how boring the show is have been doing that to themselves.
I do not fear the writers as you do…
I just feel like SWT is just so shallow in this take that it's boring. Is it just because they are incapable of processing information that isn't from a scene with massive amounts of CGI.
@Gabriel Chavarria I agree with everything you said, but I'm tired of the space-Norman Bates. I feel like that character should be over. I'm tired of this momma's boy still living at home. Just move on already. Why can't we spend more time with Saw Gerrera instead.
Episode 11 was genuinely beautiful. Every single scene is and feels so purposeful. Everything that happened this episode has so much weight behind it that it’s almost tangible

Andor is seriously one of the best Star Wars live action productions. Each episode is telling the continuous storyline of the whole season. I am really a fan of this type of story telling. Graphics, set pieces, and characters are really well done. Bravo Lucasfilm, more of this please!

Marva's death here means so much more than the quick death of Han Solo. We had time to appreciate her part in Andor's life and when she passed, we shared his grief. I'll never forgive Han's death, it was merely an afterthought to send him out of the story.
Han's death was so tawdry and felt more like 'we don't want to pay this guy' than 'this is the story that should be told'

The show continues to be a tense and emotionally effective piece with a lot of moving parts. I don't see how any of this could have been moved to the previous episode, the way it is maximizes the impact of the scene before it. It all feels like it's going to culminate with a show down on Ferrix, but it could also have several points of view and surprises. Even though we know the story will continue, it's hard to say how _this_ will end beyond several known quantities that will survive long enough to be seen elsewhere later on.
Preach!!
Indeed, would have made episode 10, which was one of the best hours of Star Wars I've ever seen, end up rushed and not as good as it was. SWT seems to want to rush though the story, instead of developing the plot and characters, and winding up the tension each episode.

It is the most beautiful, subtle, emotional storytelling of any Star Wars show. It's my favorite Star Wars property since Clone Wars last season and Empire Strikes back.
I'm on pins and needles every week to find out what happens next. I understand it's slow for some but I love that slow build. The payoff is great. We compain when characters are one note. We complain when characters are filled in through books and comics. So we cannot also complain when a show takes the time to show subtlety and detail. Nobody is harder to satisfy than a Star Wars fan.
I'm loving the show, really. For me, the pace is perfect, as we can feel true tension in every episode.
This is the first time I really feel the Empire is dangerous and oppressive since A New Hope.
This level of writing, man...
It is inevitable to make comparisons with Obi-Wan or Fett. It's a pity those didn't have a writing as powerful as this one.
Luthen and Mothma are top characters. Every second of these two on screen is pure gold!
Cassian's transformation from someone who doesn't care about the cause to a true rebel is being very believable and I'm enjoying it more and more every time Luna is on the screen.

Other disney star wars shows except for clone wars s7 failed to do that.
But hey if you watch star wars for the lightsabers, you do you
Hello there, Theory. I doubt you’ll see this comment, but on the off chance that you do, I wanted to get something off my chest.
When I was self-isolating with Covid at the beginning of the year, I discovered your channel, and watching your videos and listening to your podcasts was not only a welcome distraction from being ill and by myself, but it helped turbo-charge my love for Star Wars, which had only been rekindled by watching Mando in the early stages of the pandemic. For that, you have my sincere thanks.
You and I were both 1990 babies, and I grew up with the SW Special Editions and the PT as a kid. I had thought that you and I shared pretty similar tastes when it comes to Star Wars. I had also enjoyed tuning into Nerd Theory each week, not least because I don’t have a friend like Josh who loves SW like I do (though I’m no longer convinced that Josh actually loves SW…).
But recently something has changed. I’ve always admired your call to fans to keep things civil and respect other fans, regardless of their preferences or opinions. However, I can’t help but feel that your overwhelming negativity towards Andor flies in the face of your own advice. No, you’ve not stooped to name-calling, but ridiculing Andor, offering lazy, poorly thought-out opinions about the show, and generally pissing on everyone else’s barbecue is not the sort of thing I’ve come to expect from you. Sadly, you’ve become a bit of a laughing stock within the community, which is a real shame.
Obviously, you’re not obliged to like Andor. I’m not going to explain here why I do love it, other than to say this is the best Star Wars has been in a very, very long time. But, as you’ll see if you read the comments on your videos, you just seem so out of touch with the majority of fans at the moment, and your contrarian off-the-cuff remarks in your live streams about how boring Andor is are themselves utterly boring. I’m sorry to say this, but lately your channel has just become boring. It’s also totally disingenuous to offer these tepid “breakdowns” in which you don’t share your true opinion as expressed in your live streams.
I don’t know whether you have something going on in your life right now which has got you in a bit of a negative place, and I hope that’s not the case, of course. But I have to go off what I can see, and I don’t enjoy it. Life’s too short for watching naff content on RUclips, so thanks again for the good times, but this is me checking out.
Good luck with the Vader film, and MTFBWY.
I can’t believe there’s only one episode left of this season

ANDOR just keeps getting better and better.
Those last scenes of Luthen ass kicking the Tie fighters, and Andor finding out his mom has past, really hit. Best Stars Wars live action since Rogue One 🫶🏼
This team should be given a movie when they finish Andor.
I love Andor, the lack of force users shows how the everyone else started the rebellion

Andor has quickly become my favorite piece of Disney Star Wars content. So far, it's been doing everything great. Acting, cinematography, soundtrack, I even enjoy the pacing of it. It doesn't feel rushed, things are well explained, and you don't have the weird and awkward comedic reliefs they like to throw in from time to time in other shows/movies.
It's a 10/10 for me.
👆👆Thanks for watching and commenting giveaway awaiting for you................... 🎀🎀🎁🎁🆙
When Luthen uses those countermeasures, it really reminded me of Star Wars Squadrons, where of course you can use various forms of countermeasures behind you to block or redirect torpedoes, bombs, and the like.
👆👆Thanks for watching and commenting giveaway awaiting for you................... 🎀🎀🎁🎁🆙.
I’m really shocked at how little you understood this episode. Just three things that stood out:
1) There probably are no other survivors. And even if there were, the idea of them going to “the press” is ridiculous. Of course people who were in a secret prison created by the empire would understand that the empire wouldn’t want that information released.
2) There are no aliens in the prison because the manufacturing facility in the prison was specifically designed for humans. Other prison facilities have different species.
3) The ending also paralleled the end of Rogue One. How did you miss that?
No wonder the jury is still out for you - you don’t understand anything you’re watching.
And as an added bonus, flipping back and forth between Maarva dying and a prison escape would have been too much, and would have given the audience an unnecessary feeling that Andor’s efforts are completely futile. We found out as he did and it was crushing for him as it was for us.
I left this channel after your fan movie, which I didn’t care for. I bring it up because I get the impression that you are putting yourself in the director’s chair and playing Monday morning quarterback on these episodes. I don’t think that is working.
i think you misread the scene with Bix and the holo of Kreegyr: she was relieved that the ISB was not on Luthen's trail and felt that she could salvage something from her ordeal by giving Kreegyr up. The ISB/Empire's capture or killing of Kreegyr may serve as a plot device to transition the series towards Season 2.
Yes
👆👆Thanks for watching and commenting giveaway awaiting for you................... 🎀🎀🎁🎁🆙.
I thought this as well, seems like the ISB thinks Kreegyr is the big player here, not Luthen so overall the ISB is still a huge step behind.
I love this series. And to be honest I think the reason this is a much slower paced, somewhat anxiety-inducing (in the best way) kind of story is because its a prequel. Its meant to be the explanation of everything Andor goes through before Rogue One, which is the big blockbuster BANG BOOM ZOOM movie where you get all the action you can ask for. This is meant to be all about character development, about the slow, GRUELLING growth of a rebellion against a tyrannical Empire that VERY CLEARLY does not have its citizens' best interests at heart. I freaking love Andor and I can't wait for S2.
Yes, this! I grow tired of people complaining about the slow start to the series. They took the time and effort to show the growth of these characters and specific things that drove them to the rebellion. So many shows skimp on those details, choosing instead more action and explosions. I love action as much as the next person, but if you continually dump food on the table without properly setting it first, you end up with a sloppy mess.

Disney + will probably get a huge peak of viewers watching rogue one again after the episode 12 release
3:20 I think those swamp aliens already had their minds set and just wanted to joke/test the two escapees just in case. Maybe they could’ve been dangerous but as soon as they realized Cassian was scared and just trying to get away they understood.

Yo this episode was really beautiful as always
How is this show this good. I feel like I might cry during watching this show at some point. I can't believe I care this much about this show.
I believe the reason why there have been so few aliens in this show is because the Empire is xenophobic and segregating or exterminating a lot of the different species. Even in the original trilogy most of the storm troopers and staff were humans. The prisoners are most likely segregated as well.
One thing that seems to give this away is how on Coruscant it's mostly humans on the surface but when the ISB spy met with Luthen in the underground section there are a lot of different alien species.
Kinda echoes Taris from KotOR, which is pretty cool
👆👆Thanks for watching and commenting giveaway awaiting for you................... 🎀🎀🎁🎁🆙.
Luthen is very clear about why he has to let the ISB capture Kreegar. It's not because he wants the Empire to think the Rebellion is weak. It's because stopping the attack would expose the fact that he has a mole in the ISB.
I also connected the sunset scene to Cassian's final moments after the Death Star blast in Rogue One.
the ending scene with Cassian looking into the sunset reminded me more of the scene with him and Jyn Erso moments before their death in Rogue One as they embrace and stare into the bright skyline as the Death Star destruction heads their way.
Luthen is totally a Jedi. The object he handed off during the patdown, the affinity for kyber crystals, and now his near supernatural piloting skills. All signs point to yes!!

I'd rather have 12 episodes of people who love Star Wars and give you time to feel the atmosphere of this fantastic franchise than 9 episodes of running, shooting and sabering.
What I love about Andor is that they know exactly how much time to take. Every scene is important and every pause and reliving of the moment continues to tell a story, even when no one is talking or something is happening. That's how an atmosphere unfolds, you have to let the scene breathe. That's the only way Andor achieves this strong, oppressive feeling and emotional moments, because they feel real.
This may not be the best recipe for popcorn cinema, or for a quick rewatch of the series, because it's so heavy, but it draws you into StarWars in a way that no movie or series has done in a long time.
I hope Luthen gets his own show, he's an underrated sw character
I’d agree but Boba was coolest when he was a side character. His own series ruined him. After all Vader only had about 40 minutes screen time in the original trilogy
@@Sam-rf6ev he was ruined by bad writing. In the Mandalorian he was actually really good

No more own shows, Luthen has ties with Andor and should just be a mainstay on Andor. Boba should have been a mainstay on Mando as well.
GenerationTech did a video saying the reason for the all human prison is it's easier for a facility to care for one species and there's probably other prisons designed for other species.
I love that B2-EMO has a studder, it adds so much personality.
The luthen/ saw scene was great. Only to be topped by Luthen's ship with the arrester cruiser scene.
Aside from the animated, this is the 2nd best Disney-Lucas has ever put out, only behind rogue one and followed quickly by Obi-Wan.

Lucian handled the tie’s like a Jedi.
I have been loving Andor!
Seeing the beginnings of the rebellion, struggles of the citizens during the ‘dark times,’ the politics, the spy intrigue…it has been nothing short of amazing.
And the quality of the show - from the effects, the dialogue, the story-telling, the filming…all have been amazing. I’ll admit, I teared up during Kino’s speech.
For me, this has been the best Star Wars content we’ve received since Revenge of the Sith. And I really enjoyed the Mandalorian and Book of Boba. Clone Wars and Rebels were great too….but this show has just been a level above all those (I won’t mention the sequel trilogy other than to say, I think they’re awful…watched episodes VIII and IX only once each)!
I hope to get more Star Wars content like this!!!

@@juangutierrez673 🤣 yes the lazy thought crossed my mind as well
This is the first time I’ve felt Star Wars actually trying to expand its presence. All the other shows and movies just feels like they’re made for existing audiences and play to an echo chamber. Like Star Wars is a closed community you’re either in or you’re not. Andor is prestige television. It’s made by some of the most prestigious talent in the industry and the quality of craft on display here is so fundamentally different from anything I’ve ever seen from Star Wars I’m legitimately shocked at how much I’ve enjoyed this show.
For the first time it feels like Star Wars is a genuine piece of art instead of a tourist attraction. This scratches that Mad Men/The Crown itch of deep character drama and nuanced storytelling. Star Wars NEEDS more of this
I think the reason there weren’t aliens in the prison was because of communication. Production was top priority so the empire needs to ensure that the prisoners have no issues understanding both guards and other prisoners. Maybe also to eliminate possible racism or gangs being formed based on species.
The comments are definitely a reflection of the general mindset that enjoys this show... cerebral. It is plodding at times and seems a little like an abridged Audible book but the thoughtfulness in the writing is apparent. Since I'm an older grognard and combat vet from a long line of vets I wanted to add and remind about the source of influence of Lucas's original storytelling, it was all WW2... the real life tales of the war, the very traumatic and hard French resistance and the English fighting (particularly the Battle of Britain) were evident, huge influences on George's Sci-fi vision. It was always about the gritty battle between dictators and flawed people seeking freedom. My friends, never forget the real life heroes that inspire our stories... as is even playing out in real time today in Europe.
Best live action show so far right after Mandalorian, no doubt. I'm loving the vibe 100%.

Okay, may not have propelled the story forward so much, but come on man, that spaceship battle was incredible.. I mean, the lasers... thought you might have mentioned that tbh. I personally rate this episode and the feels I received at the end with the sunset, harking back to his Mother but also foreboding his death, was beautifully poetic. Not to mention the stunning music, using his theme and turning it into a lament.

I'm really absolutely loving this show so far, I love when they show just the regular people living in the galaxy and how they deal with the tyranny of the empire, because the average person doesn't have a lightsaber they can fight with or is as in tune with the force as a jedi. It's cool to see what the actual rebellion itself looks like, that's my favorite part of star wars, the rebels and so far this show has centered around that and just the overall feel is so different from anything else in star wars its so serious and realistic, like I could see something going down this way in real life under the same circumstances, people react how they would in real life and has a less... lets say cartoony reaction to a serious situation, I'm ecstatic for the finale and hope we get more shows like this or another season or two

I have to say, people in the chat of the watch party saying the show is boring must either be very young or have ADHD (and I’m honestly surprised at you for saying the same; I thought you were bigger than that). This show is actually REALLY good and it is annoying beyond belief that people are bored with this show because there is so little, as the trend goes, “pew pew pew”.
Let the story play out, they are going somewhere, and the payoffs so far have been great.
And bro, what a cop out with that question poll, “Did this episode excite you?”
Really? Look, this show is good. It just is. Andor is an adult show set within the Star Wars universe; this isn’t for children.
I know I’m coming across insulting, I get that, I’m just really frustrated that there isn’t any intellectual critiques and it’s all, “boo hoo, I’m bored and need lightsabers”. I’m so disappointed in the fan base. This is why we can’t have nice things.
I normally like your videos and the watch party is nice to have someone to watch it with, but it’s irritating watching something with people that just gripe the whole time. If you don’t like the show, don’t watch!
It’s a political drama, if that’s not your thing, don’t watch.
You keep focusing too much on events while not really listening to what’s actually going on. This is a story about how Andor became involved in and championed the Rebel Alliance. This is the story of how Mon Mofma sacrificed everything and funded the Rebel Alliance. This is the story of the few rising up against the many.
This is, in spirit and at it’s very core, STAR WARS!
Have your opinion, but I think it requires a few days of digesting before releasing a video on an episode rather than the day of release. Especially when your heart isn’t in it. (And, it doesn’t help that it’s the middle of the night when you’re already tired.)
And for the record, I authentically really enjoy this show. It’s such a breath of fresh air and I am so appreciative that is exists to give me/us more than just “pew pew, whoosh whoosh”. I love all the Star Wars movies (excluding the Sequel Trilogy). I even enjoyed Kenobi. But this show has earned its place in the Star Wars canon giving rise to better thought out strategies happening behind all the lasers and lightsabers. It’s a sharp mind that wins a war, and this show delivers them. I simply can’t wait for the next episode.
@@repticare101 The fact you have so little to say and nothing substantive to add proves my point.
