Someone should do an alternate version of Catcher in the Rye but instead of Holden catching kids in a Rye field, he dreams about sheltering kids from League players on Pokemon Unite. The rest of the book is exactly the same.

My friends tried to get me to play this game. "It's okay, join with us, you'll learn as you play." And not even three minutes in: "What are you DOING? THEY'RE SCORING POINTS. You can't let them do that, noob!"

If they're used playing other MOBA like LoL they already get the gist mechamics of this game, they kinda expected you to know them as well since all these coop online arena games operate the same
@@crocsy1439 I've been playing Lol a lot back in the days. Now i play with my unexperienced friends. I don't expect them to know it all. We are having fun even when we lose.
When i play seriously, I just play solo ranked.
Actually a score in three minutes its not big deal, your friends are the noobs

actually it's already a meme in our friend group that the enemy charmander thinks he is an early game Pokemon and just runs into both of us at the start of the game, even in quick battles they just show up at our side of the camps for no reason at all.
I think that means those sweats beat them so hard they evolove

Honestly just lvl like 3 items and put them on every single pokemon and you're good to go since Buddy Barrier, Focus Band and Muscle Band are the top 3 items in the game and work on literally every character.
Got to masters with lvl 10-15 items, so items aren't really that big of an issue .-.
I do agree that Zapdos is unbalances as fuck and a few mons are just plain better than everyone else (Snorlax, Cinderace, Zeraora, Eldegoss and Greninja are in almost every game lmao)

@@saphinadarkness2502 I agree that p2w shouldn't be a thing, but that wont stop anyone from getting to Masters tier. If you're good at the game, you'll get there. Unless you're aiming for the highest rank, it doesn't matter, what matters is skill.
Once you hit Masters anyways you might as well just chill and stay casual until seasonal you get seasonal rewards anyways, then you get like 15k tickets, maybe more cause I can't remember, to level your items up to those crazy high lvls.
I haven't touched unite as I'm not into the whole LoL, DOTA, MOBA thing. That being said, this video was 100% worth the watch just to see you biting that Pikachu plushie.
As someone who has tried and hated those other MOBAs I can say it might be worth checking out Unite, since it's free and matches are only 10mins. I actually find it really fun and enjoy it despite never liking a MOBA before this.

@@ajanis95 I can confirm what Elaborate Expansion is saying. Never tried DOTA, but a lot of my friends are really into league, so I tried repeatedly to get into it as well, but all I managed was to find ARAM (a specific gamemode thats more about goofy fun than competitiveness) tolerable and the rest miserable. Yet, I'm actually having a lot of fun with Unite. Couldn't tell you why I like it when I dislike league so much though.
@@TheMike0088 Matches take too long, toxic people, sometimes unwinnable matchups, the ever-growing power creep, people taking even ARAM games way too seriously. Yeah, I can see how it can get tiring. And I got tired of it too.
Getting my LoL account stolen&permabanned was somehow one of the most healthy things to happen to my life.

I get even more toxic when I have a last hitting defender/support or when I'm jungling and I have people that take my camps. Except it's not to the enemy team and channeling my anger I just channel it towards my team. No wonder I'm hard stuck Veteran lol.

Unite is absolutely horrifying but I can't put it down
After a devastating loss, the kid went into another match with his trusted pal Pikachu.
His new team was the same as the last, completely and utterly destroyed by the enemy team.
Then the kid remarkably stole the Zapdos the enemy team didn't need to start but did anyway.
And that is how a kid went from zero to Masters.
(I hate Zapdos)

Played a bit yesterday. My team started Zapdos then the whole team got interested in the nearby Bouffalant and just left Zapdos at about 50% for the other team to grab. I did what I could but my Cinderace couldn’t beat the bird plus 5 opponents

Take it easy they're just played a lot than you. in a competitive games all you need to do is to train your skill if you want to win or just play casually without taking your ego, so you can enjoy the game no matter what happened.

I think items are fun too, but I like playing to be better at the game, because once I'm good I'll have more fun playing competitively than with items.

@@eudaemonnn That goes for any area of expertise though, you get better by practicing and mastering your skills, whether that is a competitive game like smash, a job or a sport. For you it might just be a game you only want to play casually, that's fine, for others they want to engage in the competition and become good and skilled at the game

There’s been multiple times where In random matches with none of my friends I relate mostly to the Kid, but also a lot of times of me being the toxic league player along with my friends.
Alternatively:

"Nah, scoring is for losers. Just let the rest of the team do that."

After reading the comments:
I played League for a month before and reached till bronze.
Now when i started unite i got into veteran in just 2 days.
Now for the people who were talking about sure hit moves of Pikachu-
I'm Pikachu main and yes i use the Electro ball move but you need to consider the fact that Pikachu has very little defence and HP. Also Pikachu can be killed/knocked during his ultimate (unite move).
So i feel like Pikachu needs a buff for it's ultimate such that it can be invulnerable during its ultimate or get a high defence during the ultimate just like Charizard.
I don't see what's the problem here. Just use Gardevoir! Stun with Moonblast, then use Psyshock!

@@bismix4 My solution to Zapdos being so OP is just stealing it, especially if I'm playing a Pokémon like Cinderace. It usually works if you time their Unite just right, and it's always extremely satisfying :P
As a snorlax main, my only objective in this game is to beat them so much that I spend the last 2 minutes just using block on the ir spawn so they can't even leave

Pokemon unite...is a weird mix.
Pokémon and "free mobile format" brings in children and casuals.
MOBA brought in a flood of "new moba/experience" starved players who have been playing mobas for years (LoL,DotA,Vainglory, Newerth, HoTS)....
It's been very interesting seeing the blending of different players in this game.
