truely the most relaxing car reviews on the interwebs. i always make a cup of tea :o)
+RetroGamerVX almost as relaxed as your cup of tea while playing Turrican!
Best reviews on RUclips!! from a viewer from the occupied six!
Such an authentic review! love Skoda vRS
Enjoyed the video and your commentary. Subscribed 👍🏻
Had an 11 plate vrs before and loved it pick up my 14 plate next week cant wait
Its actually also called the VRS in Ireland like the UK.
When I run my Rapid up too 100 K miles I will trade it in for an Octy VRS Estate with the big wheels everyone hates. Just to top that off it will be in Rallye Green. Love the reviews. Awesome car and I look forward to catching up with the rest of the reviews on your channel as I'm back home now.
I've got a 245 vrs and love it! Highly recommended Bob tells the truth!
great review although I think the only vrs that is 230bhp from stock is the vrs230. This version is 220 bhp. Got the estate arriving in 2 days!!! yeah boi
I love this car, if a bit too dull for me still. I say it's a sophisticated, "grown up" hot hatchback. In your 20s you get your hooligan needs out in one of the real hot hatchbacks (clioRS, megane RS, Fiesta ST,...), then in your 30s you move on to something more refined like the vRS (estate for a young family) or GTI and then in your 40s+ you end up in an Audi or Merc, most likely a diesel god forbid lol
Wow that's an interesting look on things I'd say ur pretty much spot on. I'm 29 and currently looking an audi a4 avant, iv low income and have only recently started to save like fuck iv 13k wrapped up and ready to spend but in the audi world that seems to only get u a ball of shite driven for 10+ years and has 4+ owners, I know the current used car market is ridiculous at the minute but now thanks to this your comment im seriously re considering my options
@@ayesurewhynot2898 I know some people just can't look past the badge. For me with either car you are still in the VW group of products, with very similar engines, size and performance,... except that if you go for the Skoda, the same money will get you more (bigger engines, lower miles, etc.)
Obviously you should test both, that is the best way to tell, but I don't think you will be missing much if you decide to go for the newer Skoda over the slightly older Audi.
I wish you happy used car buying!
@@mattmattmatt131313 thanks il seriously think it over 😉
awesome as always
Cheers!
Such a great car. I have no idea what car I want next there's so many good ones on sale including this one
Ian Townsend i'm dying for a BMW 740D e38...
if i had 30k i would spend them on a Superb Combi as a family car, or a BMW if i hadn't any children.
Don't ask me, I can never decide what the next car for the house is. It might be a Skoda Citigo or a 640d :D
Brilliant!
Thanks!
Love this, one will be order (in estate form) very soon. But not white or black, same for a superb. Every drunk will try to get in the back.
Great video Bob, love the way your videos don't appear forced or scripted like most car reviews, keep it up! Comfort wise, how do those wheels feel on Irsh roads?
I have never scripted a car review, even I don't know what I'm going to say before I shoot. The whole car is well planted, it's a Skoda and that's alway a good start.
vrs in Ireland or Uk.car says vrs and has D plates on it .
Hi Bob, "with Apple Play I'll be completely lost" :D. I assume you don't get the throaty noise on the 184hp diesel, more like a tractor sound? The 230/220 HP petrol are few and far between second hand. Ta
Hopfully my next Car
Nice review
thanks!
Hey Bob, awesome review as alway! How does the DSG feels on a car with 220hp?
I love DSG, here's a review from earlier in the year ruclips.net/video/tgmuJ-7d2-Y/видео.html
I have a DSG 230, fantastic car. Especially when remapped. Instant 300 bhp
semra zack-wiliams im hoping you also got the dsg reprogrammed after the remap otherwise its bye bye clutch
Mick Delaney you dont need dsg remap at stage1!
As SunLoverMan says. Although, it does depend on the power delivery. It is torque the DSG clutches don't like not power!
Just curious. I'm looking at buying brand-new two potential cars are both very different-. Skoda Vrs, the new shape- BMW one series 120D- yes, I know one's diesel and . One is petrol-, not really bothered about space. Either way , I'm more interested in the fun factor- mpg well , I Realise the VRS is going to be less. That's a given- What's your thoughts
1 series!!!! Not a comparison
Guten Flavin! How does that manufactured sound hold up when the engine is not running well?
+jkmsaturn it's a press car, the engine will always run perfectly. The sound is piped in so I imagine it'll sound sick if the engine is sick. It's not a recording, it's the actual sound amplified and bass added
There is a facelift coming out in the summer, a face lift only a mother could love. pity as I'm due to change mine in July. time to buy a fecking superb
+colm macnulty agreed, looks weird with those lights
Bob Flavin is not on Apple maps btw, I checked lol
I've had 2 of these on hatchback and the combi. Only reason I moved away is for tax reasons as I am self employed.
I will be going back to the combi when I have to change and register it commercial.
It killed me to hand the keys over. Best car ever driven. You will not be let down and don't be put off by the badge snobbery.
Hi Bob Do you think This would be a Decent choice for My Next Car In 1.6 TDI 110BHP Se sport Trim? They Look Unreal In The Red As I Haven't Drove One yet Your opinion would be appreciated Many Thanks :)
Yes, the 110bhp is a fine car but beware if you aren't doing the millage a diesel isn't worth the excess you'll pay to buy and keep it. It's a tough choice but you are making the right start with a Skoda.
Bob Flavin thanks for getting back Bob I appreciate it . I will definitely be doing High enough miles But i was impressed By the 1.2 Tsi 105bhp in the toledo But the toledo felt like it was made from paper very light on the road Being blown all over the place I haven't drove An octavia yet im hoping It's nothing like that Many thanks .
Great car. Sad to see someone has already kirbed the near side alloy.
Press cars are often treated harshly, I didn't do it I hasten to add.
An AWD disel DSG RS got me interested.
diesel bah! Go manley petrol :D
I still love that sexy piece of machinery.
I'm not a fan of Skoda, or those terrible looking wheels, but thumbs up your review Bob.
Just in time Bob, have my Race Blue RS TDI coming this weekend, though can't put it on the road till January. Really looking forward to driving it.
Good choice of colour, enjoy it dude
Joseph Colclough out of interest when did you order it? I ordered mine first week of October and its not due in until the end of next week.
Mick Delaney Ordered the end of October hatch version. Was built the end of November. Only extra I got on mine was the Black pack, so no chrome surrounds.
Hope ya enjoy it man, loving mine so far even though I have only 130 miles on it so far.
Same with mine it was week 48 production. Got a few extras sat nav heated seats challenge pack few others. Was due in first week of Jan but delayed to the 3rd week for some reason.
130 miles you need to get it out on a road trip man haha
Mick Delaney Do you mind me asking why you specced the satnav considering the car comes with smartlink as standard, so Google or Apple maps depending on your phone.
Haha, have a 2,500 mile European trip in it planned for the summer.
I have a race blue vRS diesel version with the challenge pack ordered since the first week of october, its due in next week cant wait.
Any idea what it sounds like in sport mode on the diesel?
Mick Delaney dont wait good sound from diesel
It's nothing like the petrol version
a bit late. Just last week the new model is introduced.....
Every eastern Europeans dream car. Kids in the east have this as a poster on their wall. That and an old M3 or an Audi RS estate
I'll take the old M3 please
E30 m3 please
Bob, you have taste. You love the VW California. A man of taste. A man with discernment. Why are you driving a roller skate on horrible wheels? Those are UGLY!
I hear that a lot, the wheels are optional and I'm never sure about black alloys. There's nicer colours out there.
Thanks Jennifer
try keep your volume all same you keep killing my ears when listening through headphones
It's been made in Slovakia same way, as Ireland is one of England Empire provinces. Czechoslovakia, Empire...
Does that noise still come out the speakers, if the radio is turned off..??
Those wheels...!!!! Noooooooooooooooo...!!!
Yes, the noise is always there when in sport mode. In the video the radio is turned all the way down. The wheels are much better looking in the metal, I still like them
The Soundaktor is a device which pushes synthetic engine noise into the cabin by vibrating the front windshield. I quite like it, makes my GTI sound like a V6
it`s RS in germany only afaik
It is called vRS because Ford own the right to the RS label with their RS line cars
cant beet turd gear on a VRS :)
You should change down to tree before going back to forth!
Haha awesome bob love your videos :)
alloys are ruff to be fair though
Bob why do you say the RS if you're from the UK? You're Irish not British, however, I don't see the difference as a Canadian. You are all brothers to me, black, white, tanned, whatever. Anyway have a good 2017.
It's the VRS in the UK because it looks like a V in the name. We call it RS in Ireland and Europe but Irish people sometimes say vRS. It's complicated really
Bob Flavin but it says vrs on the front.
Bob Flavin I think Ford objected to Skoda using RS in the UK so Skoda put a V in front of the RS, love your reviews by the way keep up the great work
какой не приятный журналист
The car is OK - even I am not and never was a very big fan of Skodas (dunno why, but there is just something about those cars I don´t like). But those wheels are just terrible :-(
In addition i find it a bit sad that it is necessary to "fake sounds" on new cars like this.
I prefer "the real deal" from my V6 :-)
you sir, are a turd
I"ll be as constructive as I can. The sound production is mediocre. The video is everything BUT the 2016 Skoda Octavia vRS review. The weather, I had sex behind that rock, the tractor, the dirt. There are samo good reviews out there, You should check it out. And whipe your nose :)
Entertaining indeed.
+mukigero I don't remember asking for your review of anything. Thanks all the same.
Ugliest wheels ever
