My plumber wanted a Grand to replace an already fitted (but leaking) hot water appliance. After watching this video I decided to buy a new one online for £200 and fit it myself. Took all of 15 minutes. Cheers bud! You saved me £800. Feel like I should get you a pint or something.
When I went to fit my tap (same brand) there were no instructions to indicate which tail pipe went where. Your video was really helpful from start to finish. Thanks for posting this.
Had the same tap installed for 2 years, I wouldn’t be without it. About an hour to install. Couple of tips if you have a power cut the unit by default turns off so would need to manually turn back on. Defo don’t over tighten the nuts on top or they will leak as explained in video. Great video great tap
Hi,my hot water has stopped flowing out of the tap but cold and boiling still running as is all taps in the rest of the house, any idea wot the problem is, also does the end of the top unscrew myself and daughter have both tried, thanks in advance 😊
Exccellent video, thank you. The product instruction page with 4 small pictures was clearly not enough for change of the kitchen tap. I followed the video step by step, and completed the project in no time!
Thank you! I just installed and plumbed up my new hot water tap myself. I was worried I would have to call my Dad for help, but thankfully it was fairly straight forward.
Brilliant. Very clear explanation. Took one hour start to finish after watching video. Did what you suggested and dumped the plastic tap support. Impossible to get that clamp on and as a precaution reinforced it with a cable tie that held the white plastic filter pipe. Thank you again
Absolutely amazing clear instructions, I know I can do it as an amateur when I follow your instructions.. keep up the good work..so far watched every video of yours 10/10
I've recently had one of the Quooker taps fitted. I was a bit concerned about the running costs of keeping water constantly available on the boil. After doing some monitoring with it connected to a smart socket I can see that the unit consumes about 210 watts in a 24 hour period when not in use (UK in September, ambient temperature around 19 degrees Celsius). This works out around £23 per year but I reckon that I'll easily save that in energy that hasn't been used when people overfill the kettle. Great bit of kit and very convenient, I would definitely recommend . Great video, thanks 👍
Just installed this today and followed the guide, fantastic and much easier than anticipated. Thanks! One thing to note which may be a slight model update - my water filter fitting on the boiler (blue one) was pre installed however it wasn't tight enough and caused a small leak when turning the water on so would recommend removing and re tightening yourself if yours is the same!
I was thinking of getting one of those, and that makes the installation look so simple. What's putting me off now though is I didn't realise they take up so much room in the cupboard under the sink. I have a small kitchen, and storage space is at a premium.
I've often thought about the boiler taps and cooker taps. But with those type of plastic sings I thought you would have to have a pot sink? But all your videos are excellent. Learnt so much just by following you !! and watching them.. Thanks for your advice 👍
Excellent video as always, very informative and easy to follow. I did consider getting something similar myself, but then realised that I have a plumbed in espresso machine with hot water outlet on it and figured I didn’t actually need a separate boiling water tap 🤔🙈. Keep up the great work 👍🏻. Could you do a follow up video at some point by any chance to cover how cost effective having one is ?

I followed the tutorial almost to the letter (a few tweaks to suit the fittings in my kitchen) biggest panic was priming the boiler, 90 seconds felt much, much, much longer! All fantastically straightforward. Thanks for making this chore a breeze. Fancy a cuppa?
Brilliant video, as a result of which I ordered up the kit from Victorian Plumbing. The video made it all so much clearer and was easy to follow. However, I'm struggling to get the block tight enough to stop the it moving when we use the tap. The work surface is granite. Is there an adhesive I could use for extra grip between the block and the top?
Bought this exact tap because of this video and followed this guide. This video explains everything needed perfectly and was relatively easy to fit. Only issue I had was the cold flexihose wasn't long enough, but a quick trip to screwfix for an extension fixed that. The tap works perfectly and is good quality and took around an hour to fit (factoring in rechecking everything for leaks)
I’ve got one of these witch is almost identical to this one. It’s from Varena and it’s a Handstrom branded 4 in 1 hot water tap. So the issue I have is that I’ve changed the filter after 6 months following the guidelines on the manual. I have primed the hot water and made sure everything was followed in the manual. Now all I get is the flashing light to say the water is heating up but it doesn’t heat the water at all.
Hi I had the same tap that you had installed but recently there is stem coming out without turning on the tap so do you know what is the problem please thanks
Amazing video looking at these now but what is the running cost like vs a kettle "only when you need" ps your videos are extremely clear and very informative great job
Really clear instructions thank you. I wondered- can you use one of these taps as a regular tap, without the boiler? We're doing our kitchen and would like to install one, but as they are so expensive, I was hoping I could install the tap to work normally until we can save up for the boiler? Any advice on doing this would be greatly appreciated.
Have you done a video to describe how to stop a leaking tap? My tap has a fairly constant drip and if it was a normal tap, I would just change the washer. Not sure how to do that on this set-up? Thanks.
can you use one of these to wash the dishes as well? how fast does the water come out there's very little info about the wattage these things use or how much water they store and if they need an expansion vessel can you help in any way?
@DIY Guy how can you tighten the locking nut with that plastic sleeve if, unlike this video, you can't get your hand up there to fully grip it in the way you have? Is there a tool you can use? Thank!
Really nice video, thank you! I’m confident I can install myself now. I’m also installing a plumbed fridge at the same time which will live 4m from the sink. Would it be possible to tee off in the thin white pipe between the filter and the tank to take off to the fridge? This way I could use the filter for the dispenser as well as the tap. Basically what I’m asking is is it pressurised? Thank you! 🙏
Great video I’ve not long installed mine but found the push fit into the filter as started leaking, do you know how I can fix this ?would appreciate any info as I’ve looked everywhere for help but can’t find anything. Thanks Tony
Great video. I purchased an Insinkerator hot water with filter, but it did not come with the white plastic adapter you show to use on the faucet end with metal components to the filter tubing. Do you know what it is called and where I could find it? I have no way of connecting the tubing on the filter outlet to the faucet end.
Can you use one of these with only a cold water supply as a replacement for an old wall water heater of about 70y old. Would of course get a plumber. Btw. Easy instruction for people with hot and cold water feed 🙏🙏
Great video. I recently fitted an eBay sourced Etal tap and found a few issues. The ring that sits on the sink didn't fit properly into the tap body. The boiling water tap was very awkward to turn, in that I felt the return mechanism was very strong and button you press quite sharp. Biggest issue was when the boiling water tap was turned off the water continued to flow for 20 seconds. Even after following the troubleshooting procedures. Needless to say it got sent back. Not sure if it was a copy of just a dud.
How much does it cost to run 🤔 specially with electricity prices going up... this is on 24/7 so is it wasting electricity for example a kettle would come on and off this however I believe is powered on keeping the water warm?
Quick question, why does the CWS go straight into the tap, shouldn’t the CWS go to the filter first the out of the filter to both the tap and boiler, I’m confused 😂😂 I install BMS and work alongside mechanical and can work out their systems but I can’t understand this 😂😂
ive got one question i have is can i filter the cold supply to the system. as this tap is replacing a water filter tap. I dont need the tap as a sink filler etc its only for the boiling water and cold drinking water. I assume I can , however my filter for the cold is also the small pu pipe. Ive plenty of pressure, but this would reduce the flow a bit. Assuming the boiler works on pressure and. not dependent on flow i guess im ok ? Basically, i want to use the existing BWT cold water filter going to the existing drinking tap to supply the system. what does everyone think. ?
See my comment above. These are marketed as a fancy new style of “tap”, or “electric tap”, or “instantaneous water heating tap”. They are nothing of the sort. What they are is a normal tap connected to a small electric water heater, a glorified electric shower. So yes, just boil your kettle, these electric water heaters aren’t cheap and generally you’ll be lucky to get much more than 5-6 years out of them, and that’s in a soft water area. Kettles, cheap as chips and just as effective. Filters are £50 for two, and they need changing latest every 6 months, every 3 if it’s a hard water area etc and they’re getting scaled up. Scale is formed at the hottest point, which is always the boiler, hence the filters. The heater itself isn’t listed as a spare, probably because when it packs up it’d be cheaper just to spend another £300 on the whole lot. And bear in mind, these Bower Palma ones are the dirt cheap end of the market, there’s only so much reliability you can expect. Having said all that, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the principle of an instant water heater for your hot taps, in a smaller property, sink in the kitchen and basin in the bathroom, so one upstairs and one downstairs, but you’ll need the wiring in place already, which no one will have in the bathroom, and most people won’t have below the kitchen sink. So bear that in mind as an extra cost, and Heatrae Sadia are about the best of the bunch. They’re a UK firm, parts are readily available, unlike most of the tap variants. Good luck getting parts and repairing those heaters.
Hello you probably wont get this as you done this a while ago i have just bought this but we have a missing part could you tell me the name and size of the metal fixing that goes on the red fitting on top of tamk we do not have that i have messaged excel but no reply as of yet thank you
So, the hot water tap still brings hot water from the house boiler, then reheats it to a boiling temperature? That’s adding expense too, of course. Could this boiler not be fed from the cold tap instead, using a separate third tap at the sink?
Great video this may sound a silly question but can these be installed on gravity fed system aswell as combi boiler system just wondering with flow rate
I’ve just installed one of these and the tap works on hot / cold and filtered. When I turn the boiling water feature on the tap lights up red as the manual says it should but no water is being dispensed? Please help it’s driving me nuts 😂
hi, i know this question has nothing to do with this video, but what would be the best way to replace taps that has limescale on the backnuts that is connected to plastic piping, i work in a hospital as my new job and most of the piping is plastic, so when going to either fix a leak or change taps trying to get the backnut off is quite difficult as i dont want to crack the plastic piping.
I did not realise they ran with feed from the tap. So when you turn on the tap for boiling water you are actually turning on the feed to the unit. If anyone is fitting it in a new sink then plumb in the tap and tails before you fit the sink in the hole.
My plumber wanted a Grand to replace an already fitted (but leaking) hot water appliance. After watching this video I decided to buy a new one online for £200 and fit it myself. Took all of 15 minutes.

You're welcome! Thanks!
Thanks. Great clear explanation. Will be trying it this week
Glad it was helpful! Thanks👍
Great Guide, ill share this with all our customer who purchase one of our boiling water kitchen taps.
👍
Had the same tap installed for 2 years, I wouldn’t be without it. About an hour to install.
Couple of tips if you have a power cut the unit by default turns off so would need to manually turn back on.
Defo don’t over tighten the nuts on top or they will leak as explained in video.
Great video great tap
👍
Thanks for the feedback.
How do you find its efficiency? Having the tank of hot water under the sink - is it well insulated?
Hi,my hot water has stopped flowing out of the tap but cold and boiling still running as is all taps in the rest of the house, any idea wot the problem is, also does the end of the top unscrew myself and daughter have both tried, thanks in advance 😊

Super easy to follow! Saves me the £150 a plumber wanted 😮
That's what this channel is all about
Absolutely amazing clear instructions, I know I can do it as an amateur when I follow your instructions.. keep up the good work..so far watched every video of yours 10/10
Awesome! I was in doubt about how to install the plastic tube to the filter and you showed me what I needed to see. Thank you!
As usual your videos are very well explained and easy to follow, like to see a garbage disposal fit too 👍

Cheers m8, followed your instructions and all done in less than 2 hours
Excellent - clear and concise instructions along with an excellent video.
A great video...fitting this exact tap...instructions are poor to say the least...you made this so much easier.
Glad you found it useful
Just installed this today and followed the guide, fantastic and much easier than anticipated. Thanks!

How long is the mains cable ?
Superb video and clearly presented and quite easy to install really. Thank you
Thanks
Any time
Excellent work. I'm learning a lot from your videos.
Awesome, thank you!
In relation to the plumbing aspect I have a blue and black tap on the plumbing. Which is for hot and cold water. Great video by the way
According to you, it is very easy to install on of these units. Thank you.
Very interesting video. Again, well explained. Didnt realise how easy it was to get these taps fitted.
Thanks. Most people think they are difficult but they really aren't.
Now I understand! An excellent and clearly presented video. Thanks!
Glad you like it

Thank you very much!
Fantastic! You’ve convinced me to get one😎 I have a slight problem however, there isn’t a power socket in my sink base unit😬
Great video. Haven't bought one yet but just about to now!
👍
Really well made video that was super helpful and informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, must connect the filter pipes according to the direction marked on the top of filter housing 😊
Great video you made it look easy.
Thanks 👍

All fantastically straightforward. Thanks for making this chore a breeze. Fancy a cuppa?

When the filter replacement is due, does it automatically shut off the water supply or should you turn it off at the shut-off valve or stop-cock?
Brilliant video, as a result of which I ordered up the kit from Victorian Plumbing. The video made it all so much clearer and was easy to follow. Thanks. Do it 👍
Great video as always. Thanks for the content.
Your very welcome 👍
Making it look so easy, once again. Excellent video
Thanks 👍
Great video thanks for the advice. Can you fit these to a sink that only has a cold water feed??? Cheers
That looks very easy, thanks
Your welcome 👍
Excellent video....thank you
Thanks and your welcome 👍
Really helpful. Thanks
Very well explained, thanks. What if there's already a water softener system, with carbon filter, installed under sink?
Great video quick question.is it possible to go directly into the boiler with p tube as I already have a filtered system cheers
Brilliantly explained
Thanks 👍

Does the tank auto fill after using hot water or do you have to manually refill
Used your instructions to install mine. Very helpful!

can you use one of these to wash the dishes as well? how fast does the water come out there's very little info about the wattage these things use or how much water they store and if they need an expansion vessel can you help in any way?
Do you still need to buy filters if you already have a whole house water softner? Great video.
Another great video, they are so engaging.
To access boiling water was there a button the the tap?
Thanks a lot 😀. There is a button on there.
@DIY Guy how can you tighten the locking nut with that plastic sleeve if, unlike this video, you can't get your hand up there to fully grip it in the way you have? Is there a tool you can use? Thank!

Great video. One question though, my cold water pipe has my dishwasher connected to it. Does this matter?
You’d probably want a non-return valve from the dishwasher so nothing can back up into the water heater.
Can I put my cold water supply strat to the tank as I don't have eny pluming
Very good video
Can you explain why the black box is leaking
What to I need to do ?
Thanks. Locate your leak and go from there is my suggestion.
Hi, my hot water has low pressure, but y cold water is high. Does the heater only use the cold water to supply the heater unit ?
Hi! How long is the plug? Our nearest plug suitable is around 1.5 meters away
Thank you!
You're welcome!
thanks excellent instructions. Just a quick question, can this tap dispense cold drinking water when needed?
Cold water yes but not filtered water.
Can you use one of these with only a cold water supply as a replacement for an old wall water heater of about 70y old. Would of course get a plumber. Btw. Easy instruction for people with hot and cold water feed 🙏🙏
Hi,can u tell me please that cold water is going through filter or only i water going to the tank is going through filter,
Great video! Is there a way to turn off the child safety lock mechanism and if so, how? Thanks in advance

I don't understand stnh the boiler receives water through the filter , and that water to top up the boiler unit comes through the tap itself right?
How much does it cost to run 🤔 specially with electricity prices going up... this is on 24/7 so is it wasting electricity for example a kettle would come on and off this however I believe is powered on keeping the water warm?
I don't have cost data yet I'm afraid
It's not cheaper than kettle, anyone that tells you otherwise is an idiot.
They however pretty cool and more convenient.
they are cheaper than a kettle , if u get a quooker one they’re very cost effecient
Quick question, why does the CWS go straight into the tap, shouldn’t the CWS go to the filter first the out of the filter to both the tap and boiler, I’m confused 😂😂 I install BMS and work alongside mechanical and can work out their systems but I can’t understand this 😂😂

Do you get filtered cold water , from this tap?
Does it save much money than boiling a kettle each time?
See my comment above. These are marketed as a fancy new style of “tap”, or “electric tap”, or “instantaneous water heating tap”. They are nothing of the sort. What model is the one you fitted ?
What make is this? Would you recommend this make?
Great video again mate smash the likes ppl
Thanks a lot 👍👍
Thank you
You're welcome
What boiler is that one please
Hi what system are you installing please
Great video, thanks! Is that the fastest the boiling water comes out of the tap?
Yes it is. It's actually plenty fast enough although may not look it on camera
So, the hot water tap still brings hot water from the house boiler, then reheats it to a boiling temperature? That’s adding expense too, of course. Could this boiler not be fed from the cold tap instead, using a separate third tap at the sink?
The boiler is fed from the mains cold in this video.
Great video this may sound a silly question but can these be installed on gravity fed system aswell as combi boiler system just wondering with flow rate
Yes they are fine on gravity fed.
I’ve just installed one of these and the tap works on hot / cold and filtered. When I turn the boiling water feature on the tap lights up red as the manual says it should but no water is being dispensed? Please help it’s driving me nuts 😂
Great video... Any chance of listing where you got the tap from
Victorian plumbing. The link is in the video description
Watched with interest, do these devices save on energy?
I've no evidence to suggest yes or no
hi, i know this question has nothing to do with this video, but what would be the best way to replace taps that has limescale on the backnuts that is connected to plastic piping, i work in a hospital as my new job and most of the piping is plastic, so when going to either fix a leak or change taps trying to get the backnut off is quite difficult as i dont want to crack the plastic piping.
I did not realise they ran with feed from the tap. So when you turn on the tap for boiling water you are actually turning on the feed to the unit.
If anyone is fitting it in a new sink then plumb in the tap and tails before you fit the sink in the hole.
since when did people have sockets under their sinks , beside water ? easy if you have a socket , what about no socket ? electric and water together ?
What make is the tap you installed?
I’d like to know this too!
