Laptop I used ACER ASPIRE 3 A315-53-389V
Problem of the laptop is the power button not functioning properly. You need to keep pressing any key to power up the laptop, but once you stop the laptop will turn off. this problem is common for acer laptop with built-in the power button to the keyboard. for permanent solution you need to replace the keyboard, for the temporary solution watch this on how can you turn the power of laptop without pressing the power button.

Worked perfectly on my Acer 515-51, exactly as described. Had to have the laptop plugged in for it to work, but now I can power it back on. Huge thank you!

I had replaced my keyboard twice till now.Once during its warranty period and once just after warranty period,latter costed about 1500Rs.Although I had replaced my laptop keyboard,there was still a burning smell from the keyboard because the keyboard keys were short.Service center told me that i would have to replace my keyboard once in every 3-4 month.Now i did as told in video.Now there is no burnig smell,power key is still working.I hope it wont need any more replacement now.Thank You

Kuda, ty for this video. It is really helpfull, my customer button see broken and you have show me the way how to turn on this lap top without to tell the customer motherboard is dead. You have teach me a good lesson :D. Let me I teach you too something on this lap top acer press FN + Windows button+ power button on keyboard and lap top will power on , that is reserve solution in case power button die, it have some defect I guess but ass command still working. using an analog multitester madaling mahanap ang power on pin sa keyboard at medyo safe pa,e set sa X1 ang multitester,e lagay ang negative probe sa ground,gamitin ang positive probe e short lng pa isa isa sa bawat pins,pag nag ilaw ang power led yan na ang power on connection...

We can actually connect a small reed switch (power on on magnetic feild) to those 2 pins and place reed switch near outer covering of the laptop. Once its fine we can just place a small magnet near the reed switch area from outside and once it starts powering on remove the magnet
would really save a lot of lives if you make a video on it.

You might make an external power button using flex cable at button
@@KudaTech I just made a hole in the back cover using a soldering iron. And I'm using nail cutter to trigger the two pins everytime I power it on. I hope the pins won't rust and get worn out over time.

I think this will help, just disable those annoying keys. If not u really need to change your keyboard.

thank you so much , i thought for long time this was a software issue but looks like this a common problem with acer cuz my a515 has this issue, i went into power button setting and changed the action to turn off display or sleep and got nothing now i know its hardware and can now work towards fixing it

Boss, meron ako dito, Acer Aspire 5. No power din. Pero pag pinress ko power at pinlug in ko charger working mga indicator lights niya, pero ayaw talaga magbukas. Ano kaya problema nito boss?

So every time I want to power on the laptop I have to open the underneath part of the laptop and press those 2wires on the keyboard connectors?Y not recommended keyboard replacement or erecting an outside switch using the ground on the laptop and one of those wires u pointed out.

Thank you, working perfectly, saved a laptop that had a juice spill.
Just note that on ACER Aspire 5 A515-52 (Model N18C1) it's the first 2 pins exactly opposite than in the video (first 2 on the right side of the connector), but still doing the job.
Now use an external keyboard and just put the computer to sleep, not shutdown.

But as soon as I press any other button on my keyboard the power gets on for a few seconds but it doesn't turn on my laptop
