for everyone whose laptops not charging simply remove the battery from the laptop then charge it so you can turn on the device..then see if the laptops turning on and if it does remove the charging put the battery back and try turning it on even after that if it doesn't charge uninstall drivers and restart it..this is work for sure, I did it on my Lenovo S340 by myself with my brother.

What exactly was the fix? Shorting out the BIOS battery terminals? IDK how that is supposed to fix a completely dead Laptop. I would have expected one of the voltages to be gone i.e. 3.3V, 5V

Damn you Acer!! Same story here. The machines are built cheap and so, ya, stuff breaks or is weak. I found my fix was a new DC Jack!!! $9.00 part.

Look at where the charging port is Connected to the motherboard, look for broken solder. If it looks good take a multi meter to the battery and check for resistance, if no resistance then it probably is the mobo

There is a chance that yours opens from the keyboard, remove all the screws from the bottom and try prying up the keyboard from the corner with a plastic pick or something similar.
My acer V5-573 laptop doesn't turn on without the help of charger, even if battery is full. I have to connect the charger for a few seconds and remove, then press power multiple times whilst the orange light flashes each time, until eventually the blue light comes on and the laptop turn on. If when pressing power the orange light doesn't flash, i have to connect the charger again for a few seconds and try again
and how to fix if no battery is detected, so only can turn on when plug in the charger, somehow the battery charging indicator every time turn on the laptop light on, but turn off after bios display, are its means I must change to new battery? or still can fix without change it?, please help thank you

That is probably an error code, indicating an issue. Count how many times it blinks and look up that on acer's webpage.

The main battery was removed before opening the laptop. The CMOS/BIOS battery was removed upon opening.
I wonder coz my acer won't run even when the ac power is plug in. I mean without battery. but in your case you said you remove battery and plug in only the ac power but it runs..
