Gas Stations

- A typical gasoline station has a storage capacity of 30,000 to 40,000 gallons in underground tanks. In the past, these tanks were sometimes subject to spills from overfilling and to leaks caused by corrosion. Today, station owners have taken several important steps to reduce these risks.
I should be doing homework but this is more important
Cats with headphones on don't need to do homework.
SAME HERE BRO, I HAVE HOMEWORK RIGHT NOW
I member Napster. Oh...i member
I just pirate FLAC amd WAV of all my music. 1000s of songs.
Teacher "why didn't do your home work?" You "I did, I learned how gas stations prevent spills to protect our environment." :)
imagine being at a gas station and u hear that safety alarm go off
Victor Korgoth "What's the procedure?" "Stay F***ing calm!"-The Office
I actually recognized that alarm. I think some gas stations might use it for other alarms.
I don't know why I watched this vid, but I'm not disappointed.
Bradley Albrecht Same
Bradley Albrecht same XD
Bradley Albrecht same here :)
with ya on that i also dont get why its on my reccomendations i only watch gaming vids
Yeah, why am i here,,, i don;t know but hey :)
Well its almost 12 am, and i'm watching a video about spill prevention.... youtube death spiral.
12:15am and I've found my way here....
12:59....
it's 1am my time, and I am watching this lol
2:53
11:59 pm...
Why the hell am I even watching this?
Daniel SENEKAL same.
LimitedWard curiosity... Curiosity...
LimitedWard I asked myself that same question
Because it is awesome as fuck.
you had it in your recommendations
Human engineering is amazing, something that seemed so simple to me is actually way more complex than I thought.
Gasoline stations are the shit.
i like how the word the can change the meaning.
you dont see the grocery stores haning out great (and i mean great) soda deals
gas stations: 1
grocery stores:0
Deus Vult mmm, love me some solution of 40% sugar, 40% obesity, 15% diabetes and a 5% sprinkle of cancer. Some sodas prefer to replace the cancer with esophageal corrosion, which i prefer.
Well, there shouldn't be that much cancer in it.
Once you learn more about the world around you and everyday things in your environment you've currently taken advantage of and pay no mind to, (be it man-made or natural) you start to appreciate things a lot more and really marvel at what you have in front of you. From gas station engineering to how a Venus Flytrap plant works. We live in an amazing world and I wish more people would appreciate it.
Why did this pop up on my recommended videos? It's interesting, but whaaaa?
We must have been led here for a reason. Maybe someone has answers.
+AssemblyBandit all I've been watching is f1 and top gear
Ah, the mysterious recommended list... there should be a "random video" button! That would be hilarious/scary
@ wsupchris ...and those shows are about what? Powered by what?
NorthernChev Fuel and rich people's money
im sitting here thinking "how can i get free gas" lol
I'm sitting here thinking "Unlike those tanks, I need to take a leak"
You need a Michael Scofield.
You forgot a step!
3. get arrested by the police
what I do at 2am
You to must live on the other side of the world from each other.
RichardDJLilD I clicked on the time tag but didn't notice u wrote am after
I love how everything, everywhere has so much technology embedded into our world that most of us never even thought of or acknowledged the existence of.
Call me crazy but I legit appreciate the educational value of videos like this even when its not my daily cup of tea! :)
This is like some irrelevant training video they make new clerks watch for when they gotta man the cashier.
you know what??... i found that extremely informative :)
i need this in my backyard
915TANK ))))))))
This is actually interesting for some reason, didn't ever think of how gas stations work
the more you know, am i right?
Thank You Engineers and Scientists, for figuring out how to make everything as secure and convenient as possible, not just for fuel, but in all aspects of life, from electronic technologies, to infrastructures and water systems to deliver water.
And we blow them up like they're nothing in Just Cause 3.
Why the fuck is this so consistently in my recommendations?
Because they paid for it to be recommended
I don't doubt people can pay to have their videos recommended, but I can't think what the poster of this video would gain from doing so. You?
Mr Reymundo it's basically an infomercial for anybody interested in purchasing their product. albeit commercial lots of people own gas stations and might be interested in purchasing one.. thats my thoughts
Anthony Johnson I could see that
This why the fuck has this come up?
Uh.. Thanks RUclips Recommended,
I Definently need this for my Exam!
Hurileno My name is George
This isn't the weird part of RUclips but I still don't know how I got here.
how the heck did I go from watching funny youtube videos trying to pass time at work to watching the presidential debate to watching how gas pumps work and now gas stations.
4:26am standing in my kitchen with my battery on 13%, time to go sleep.
I will never look at a gas station the same way.
This was an ad that was placed in your recommendations. It even closes with a line about how the oil companies protect the environment.
Wow the amount of engineering that goes into something as simple as an underground tank
Two rules to live by:
1) Don't sweat the small stuff.
2) It's all small stuff
i thought the whole stations underground is a tank😂
Don’t know why this was in my recommendation but I’m actually glad I had watched it.
I feel like i just went through a training video, am i hired now?
Brine is salted water right ???
I didn't need to know this, but I happen to click on the video. So it looks like I now am the proud recipient of this little piece of knowledge.
This was honestly one of the most entertaining videos I've ever seen. Very informative too. Thanks RUclips gods for the daily blessing of a ridiculously random video on my recommended list.
Why is this so soothing to watch.
very educational for just 3 mins of info and nice visuals too
seems like something a Professor would show in class but here I am watching it instead of doing homework
Someone did amazing job here.
"help protect our environment" roaight...
Yep, doesn't matter we've lost a few billion litres of oil into the sea each year but we're sure keen to show you we won't let that dribble get loose in the petrol station!
Aristocrafied Not much choice is there?
hypocrite, lemme guess, you are vegan?
+John Doe oh because wanting a future for my offspring must make me dislike plants so much i wanna only eat that..
yeah. fuck you scum-ass vegans, you plant-hating monsters
I don't know how I ended up here, but I'm not mad about learning new information.
Thanks RUclips I watch so many videos about gas stations I really needed this.
Great video to watch at the gas station at 2 AM.
It's 5 in the morning, I have no idea why I'm watching this video, but I'm glad I did
why did i watch this .-.
why did i finish it .-.
That was quite interesting and random.
I hope I'm not the only one pleasantly surprised by the narrator's voice and how good it is
now u know the perfect place to open a gas station! nice video
Considering I'm at one of these every three days, that was an interestingly informative video... thank you!
I'm glad that we are all here, and none of us know why.
Always wondered how the tanks looked under gas stations
fantastic video editing. very informative, ty
not sure why this popped into my recommendations but it was cool to watch
Such a pleasant video... about gas stations.
I found this video entertaining because I work doing repairs on all the the tank and probes and sensors , over 100k for someone that didn't even graduate from high school, isn't America great
One time I was going to fill up at a Royal Farms. There was a massive gas leak a few pumps to my right and I didn't notice till a few managers and one oil company manager all crowded around me and gave me the news. They said none of the pumps were gonna work at the moment but welcomed me to wait. Unfortunately, what I didn't realize was that my increased intake of potent Cannabis that day really boggled my mind and I didn't notice till I attempted to engage in conversation. Soon, I said my goodbyes and decided to go to the local Wawa instead. 2 minuets prior to all of this, I decided to put all of my Cannabis and accessories in closed environments. Holy hell man, what a day that was.
It's just so perfect!
How could we NOT lose!
I don't understand what you're trying to say, or if you're trying to say anything meaningful at all. I'm not going to make any assumptions, so would you care to explain yourself?
It has sensors on the sensors!
It's 1AM, I don't know why or how I got to this video but I liked it
I have learned so much from this video lol
why did I watch this? asking the real questions
Because of curiosity.
Emre.D exactly. very fascinating
Wow , now that was riveting!
ill put good use to what i just learned at the next gas station, this will tottally come in handy
thank you very well done learned a lot thanks again
hmmmm. probably the best video ive seen all day
when I grow up I wanna be a gas station attendant!
I learnt something new, thanks
I always wanted to know where the gas was pumping from. I'm 13 and this helped me.
Fascinating video, very well-constructed!
it's as if I'm watching a training video
at the end of the video i was so pumped up & yelling yeaah like i just finished watching a blockbuster
not sure why i watched this but very interesting and great animation and explanation.
I was listening to 2 chainz new album, but had to stop to quickly educate myself about leak prevention in gas stations 👍
Wait where's the regular, premium and plus tanks?
Great video!
Thanks for recommending
Nice, what program did you use for your graphics?
Ever wondered how Tesla Superchargers work?
Very informative. I'll note it down.
something ive always wondered about
RUclips recommendation did its best!
I love to know how things work.
In Northern parts of Canada many gas tanks are above ground ... if it leaks you can just look at it and see :)
50 years from now instead of there being gas/service stations there will only be power/charging stations
No one said EV's are going to save the environment or the planet from global warming for that matter, EV's convert about 59%-62% of the electrical energy from the grid to power at the wheels, even if the power source is from a coal plant, it still makes good use of that energy. Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles only convert about 17%-21% of the energy stored in gasoline to power at the wheels, whilst still needing engine fluids to maintain the vehicles performance such as oil and gas to power it.
and what if you have an electric that is purely powered from a home solar grid? is it still burning oil? EV's are as green as their juice makes them to be. BTW EV's are a solution to the future, 50 years from now we will be running on fumes for the search of crude oil and natural gas, considering the increase in population, demand can only become exponential
***** let me put it this way manufacturing anything will always require oil but which one uses less oil whilst being manufactured and requires no oil after its a finished product?
The end factor is always effeciency
Saul Ramirez nah
good informational video. 10/10
Tnxx for helping me to give me a important thing
Thank you so much so useful
i watched this vid for no reason still felt good
I try not to stay up until 2am. But when I do, I make sure I learn about gas stations
This was very interesting
i always wondered about this
wow, this was far more interesting than it should have been.
That's a lot of safety and all, but then when a leak happens you gotta rip that shit out of the ground and repair it.
Yes but it's not actually that big of a deal relatively speaking. Pump it dry into tanker trucks, rip the concrete up, scoop out the gravel, and drop a new one in (or repair but that can be a real pain) and if you're unlucky you might need a few pumps to keep the water out of the tank hole while you do this.
this is one of those videos that has a tremendous amount of views and comments with thousands of likes yet nobody can explain why
love this recomendation
Now i got to think of a way to casually put this info in my next convo with friends..
Surprisingly I've always felt safe at a gas station
I do not know why I watched this but it was interesting!
I did not realize that gas station tanks had so many safety systems built into them
oh i get this video, it doesn't matter if you use cheap or expensive gas, its all from the same tank
