I had a dream of visiting shizikuishi studio for a long time. But cancer left me immobile for the past two years. As you’re the only watch vlogger whom I watch and appreciate, it’s great to see that you visited their studio and shared it with your subscribers. I remember I bought my first grand seiko from Ginza back in 1977 which I’m still wearing, and this video has brought me to tears. Arigato, Baldassare San.

The immense discipline and pride the Japanese have in their work and craftsmanship - no matter how big or small it may seem - is truly remarkable and respectable. I’ve been to Japan many times, I remember just going into a 7/11 and the snack food would be better than lots of places in Europe . They learned how to make vintage clothes denim/ leather jackets from the old fashion machines but improved with better materials & higher quality stitching & making! 👏🏻👏🏻

In the meantime, the way the Swatch Group has positioned their brands and swap movements among them, Grand Seiko has established itself as a luxury brand true to the term luxury. Craftsmanship, quality, passion, exclusivity, heritage, service. I think passion has gone missing from most Swiss brands.

Grand Seiko would eclipse Rolex if the people would be educated to the significance of the positive progress in watch technology. Additionally GS put in the artistry into the appearance of the watch inside and out. In October 2008, the private space adventurer, Richard Garriott, took Model SPS005 Spring Drive into space on his mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The SPS005 Spacewalk is truly a unique design. The Prospex LX line has the spring drive and can arguably contest GS quality in some of there models. Seiko/GS would be appreciated far more if people would look more beyond the brand name.

Fantastic video, Teddy! What I really appreciate is how you let the craftspeople speak for most of the video, and that was a fascinating glimpse of the corporate culture, ethos, and master-apprentice regimen that's part of GS. These are definitely individuals who've each put in their 10,000 hours toward mastery! And I admire their forward-looking approach (ie., not necessarily doing things the same way for the sake of tradition, but continual refinement and product development). It's been years since I've been in Japan, so I appreciated the scenic camera-work of a part of the country many don't see. White Birch or Snowflake are my grail watches. Keep up the great work!

Teddy, yet again a beautiful video illustrating Grand Seiko’s craftsmanship but also their exquisite mentality. The latter is injecting pride to be able to work for a company that delivers top quality but also humbleness in that one is to train one’s successor as an illustration of the fact that nobody is more important than the collective. I own 12 Grand Seiko watches, and I do not understand what the issues are in some of the comments. Service has always been exquisite. Quality is at least on par with my Swiss watches. Thank you Teddy!

The square-headed screw on the stud totally reassuring.

Finally! Thanks so much for this visit, Teddy! Hope you were able to enjoy a bit time in beautiful Japan as well besides this 'job'.
Really love the country and their culture. The craftmanship at GS is truly remarkable! I'm really proud to own three GS in my own collection. Especially the 9SA5 is an incredible movement!
