- Once more back in the saddle of the 1991 GMC Syclone to complete the final day of the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour! Today we're leaving from Columbus, where we are based, and headed straight west to Indianapolis! We COULD just take Interstate 70 all the way there, or in true Power Tour fashion we could get off the quickest route and take some old fashioned high ways. For Hot Rod Power Tour 2024 that means jumping on the Old National Road US 40 and touring through some lovely Indiana small towns.
After 5 days of driving the little black truck another successful Hot Rod Power Tour Long Haul is within sight, unfortunately there were some traffic surprises in store. Along the way I also had a side quest of my own, to find some tasty ice cream to keep me cool, and away from that A/C button!
Thank you to everyone at Motortrend that helps make these events possible, to all of the vendors who come out made HRPT 2024 what it is. Rolling over 30,000 miles in this all original GMC Syclone is a bitter sweet moment for me not having my dad riding shotgun, but it was great to be able to take his truck. That so many people appreciated it and were excited by it also made the experience that much better for me.
See you all again next year? Hope so! And maybe some new faces as well? Definitely!
Thank you Austin for the work on Power Tour. And taking us along again this year. 💯👊👍
I purchased my Syclone new in 1991. I kept it for 17 years. You are spot on about no one knowing what they are.
There is no way to not make your father proud of that truck and you do what you do
Austin, I really hope your dad feels better soon.

Thanks again for letting us use the shop your a life saver!
Very welcome glad we could be of assistance!
I'm so grateful you actually posted it today. I know you had a long night on Thursday.
I greatly appreciate it. Keep up the good work
Hey Austin, thanks for the music. And the update.
Watch your power tour videos every year. Your making me feel real old now because I wrenched for GM for 20+ years and worked on these trucks and the blazer counterparts when they were under warranty. I bought a brand new stripped s10 in 1992 that was one of the best vehicles I ever owned. Anyway enjoying the channel as always. Hope to do a long haul some day before they throw dirt on me.
Thanks for taking us and talking about the situation there as we deal with a bit of that in Georgia too .. Regardless u hit on some very good points…. Cheers brother 🍻
Thank you for your content! Hopefully I will be on tour next year!
Well, Austin, I’m 72 and I don’t think I’ve ever remember seeing that truck

Why have you not put the power tour sticker on the windshield yet
Don't see anybody else driving through to look at everything. Why do you get to.
Enjoyed the last few years of your videos. But this year it's been bad. No excuses as to why you couldn't be at the venues at a normal time like everyone else on the tour, as a lot of people wanted to see and meet you. But that's not the case. And I don't want to hear the "RUclipsr" excuses because you're the only one making those excuses. Stop talking about the stupid AC and use it. It's not cheating. It's called being smart. And stop pouring water on yourself, drink the damn water and use the air conditioning. Everyone else that had it used it. I purposefully took my daily driver so I would have AC. Next year better be no excuses dude. I've watched each day as I thought it would be better but it's not. And you've been a bit more cocky this year than previous years. Stop flipping the camera back and forth and just drive. Get to the venue to see people.
Put the damn phone down while driving, buy a go pro like every other filmer has. Do it right. And stop talking with food in your mouth. It's insanely disrespectful and it's not that important.
It's also highly illegal to drive with headphones in. You worry too much about videos. Just chill it out and you'll be fine.
You're needing to take the truck back home when it does. To glue up the headliner for your dad .
Nice job on the long haul.
I only did the last 3 days and enjoyed it. I will probably step up to a long haul next year.
Funny but with three days on the tour the 1-hour mark of this video is the only evidence that I was there aside from a few of my own picks.

Really enjoyed all of your posts this year on POWER TOUR. Your dad's truck is really COOL. Hope you're dad's health improves. But you really should put NEW tires on that absolutely WICKED Syclone, just think what it would do to the truck if one of those weather cracked tires blew out?? It'll cost a hell of lot more to fix it, then a set of tires cost? Just sayin! PEACE ✌️
30,000 miles on "SQUARE" Tires = Congrats !!!

Holy that’s a lot of FKn trucks at the end of the video 🍻🥃🤘
I don’t know about that , old man don’t like to be bothered unless he is in merchant area lol
Go drive it they are ment to be driven remember that when you try to say "this car is too nice for power tour "
Not much swag in your bag this year huh Austin
No that driver thinks they in a video game
40:32 That’s my Daytona 500 pace car!!! We saw you filming and then noticed your truck- we were like he can’t not be on the power tour with that truck!! Started off with that GTP and a Trans Am, but the Trans Am broke down the night of Louisville so we all crammed into my car and finished off strong!
My step dad took over driving because that’s how he is, and he was absolutely oogling over your syclone, I got a few photos too! Right away he said if that truck isn’t on the power tour it needs to be, we sure don’t see those around often!
Man, I remember when these came out. I was probably like 12 years old. They were just out of this world to me!
