  • This video was inspired by : • how to build a rocking...
    The horse is made from MDF following the plans from this site: www.toymakingplans.com/website...
    The saddle, bridle, etc are made from leather offcuts and the saddle cloth has been embroidered with the horse's name :D
    The project took me around 5 months working evenings and weekends but I have split into rough full days of work - I think!

    TicTacToe, how many sheets of MDF did you use?

    • @WebBelief
      @WebBelief  4 года назад

      Hey Jamie - to be honest I can't remember but I think I used most of the stuff you see in my car in the video - probably 3 full sheets? Lots of offcuts left over which is probably more down to my poor layout technique :)

    Nice job I bet there was one happy youngster, May I ask if you sealed the edges before painting, as I know MDF tends to soak up paint? If so what did you use to seal?

      Thanks Mike 😊 yes it seemed to go down well and has progressed down through the family now 😁
      I did try to use some flexible filler to seal the edges but it was a big mistake and I ended up removing it all then starting again. A better solution I found was to mix a little bit of wood glue with some water and use that to seal the ends then just liberal coats of white primer before painting! Good luck 🤞

    Is MDF a safe material for children to be around?

    • @WebBelief

      Good question! As far as I know, MDF is a very safe material once it is finished (and in my case, painted). However the dust and fumes created while working with it are definitely not safe so appropriate PPE should always be worn.
