Currently the best smartphone to shoot 14bit 4K DNG RAW videos on Motioncam according to the developers of Motioncam. This means the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the best smartphone in the World right now to shoot video on. Apple Pro Res looks like crap compared to the DNG RAW video from Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
That's now how it works. 99% of people won't know what to do with DNG Raw footage, but they'd definitely be able to deal with Apple Pro Res, especially if they have a Mac.
Bro. This phone and this strategy can bring back open tech days when devices amle possibilities into realities. Trust me. If such phones go mainstream even a writer who never left the days of telephone will one days buy one. And oh sophistication is charming. @@MOBHouse
Great review! Really helped me. Selling my s24 ultra for the xiaomi 14 ultra, really like the style of those pictures, look less fake, less oversharpened.
You can even control the amount of saturation, sharpening/softening, tone, etc if you're shooting in JPEG file in Pro Mode. The camera rivals professional mirrorless cameras in terms of clarity and dynamic range in Pro Mode!
Very impressive presentation and you are a very talented young man! Your Teddy Swims rendition was SUPERB. Like you, I'm buying the 14 Ultra to save me having to lug around my Sony Camera's which, as the years go by, I can barely be bothered with. My 14 Ultra is arriving tomorrow and if the Vivo 100 Ultra had the same camera kit available that is the one I would be buying, plus no Android Auto.... Pity Xiaomi don't listen to the many comments on what needs doing to make thsi a great phone - instead addressing the shortfalls with the next version. That gripes me. Got 14 days to send it back so lets see how good (or bad) it really is....
I've been using Xiaomi 14 Ultra for a month now.. Here's what you need to know about the camera.. - Default camera tap to shoot clicks okayish pictures.. Great for impressing people, but not too great for a photographer. - 50MP Pro Mode clicks totally mind blowing amazing pictures that rivals my Sony A7C and Canon R6 in terms of picture quality and dynamic range. - Ultra Raw Mode in Pro Mode provides 16 EV of dynamic range and 21bits of RAW file data to work with in Lightroom (Adobe and Xiaomi collaboration). - You can even control the amount of saturation, sharpening/softening, tone, etc if you're shooting in JPEG mode in Pro Mode. - Don't use the Super Macro option which uses only one lens (3x Floating Telephoto Lens), as the camera supports macro on three of its lenses. You can shoot macro with ultra wide, 3x and 5x optical lenses. Read Xiaomi's product advt page of Xiaomi 14 Ultra. - Use Pro Video Mode with 3x Lens to shoot amazing macro, as it remains amazing when you zoom in while recording the video. - Movie Mode looks amazing with Xiaomi Master Cinema turned on. - Master Cinema mode is 10 Bit REC 2020 HDR Log-like mode. - Shoot video in Pro Mode in Master Cinema. - You can import LUTs in LOG mode in Pro Video Mode. - The camera body rattles because it's really big and it's fine. - Camera gets overheated when used in multiple modes quickly just for the purpose of testing different cameras and zooms and AI features. Hasn't overheated when shooting practically anything. - Turn Off 'Reduce Frame Rate for Night Time/Low Light' settings in camera app under video section, or else at night time the video will have shaky lights all over..! - Update the phone as soon as you get.. The camera performance has gotten amazing with recent update!! 🔥
@@ijtaba7 Wow, I think you should have your own RUclips channel too. Thank you for the heads-up on the 14 Ultra. Only received mine yesterday so lots to learn.
As someone who is skilled with cameras, you're definitely gonna enjoy this. I feel that by catering so much to users like us, they do alienate the bigger user base. The R&D team must consist of many camera nerds. XD
Tried my friend's Xiaomi 14 Ultra. One thing that surprised me was the weight. For 220g it was way more lighter than my old Redmi Note 9 Pro which at 209g was noticeably heavier. Maybe should've gotten this instead of the Xperia line 😂. Otherwise major issues to consider include battery drains when using camera (big sensor, bigger battery hog), lens fogging, and probably Hyper OS.
Nice video. I'm impressed with your presentation. I'm using the s23 ultra mainly because of the s-pen and the dex mode, which I use them a lot for my productivity. However, the camera performance is too poor for my liking. Too much over sharpening, which ruins my photos, especially when you zoom in for details. I'm also somebody who used to print my pictures on large boards. I'm now in a delima whether to buy the vivo x100 ultra or this xiaomi 14 ultra.
If you want to zoom far away and and have a little bit more details, is Vivo X100 Ultra, it has 200mp zoom camera If you want ready to post pictures, better mic, better at night, better video, (everything else is better on Xiaomi) Me, now I would pick the Vivo only because I could flex with good quality zoomed photos and That's All I have Xiaomi I kinda like the phone, the photo kit would add 1500mAh
@@theperfectionist4702 they both work the same. Vivo is more digital zoom after their 3.7x optical and AI enhanced while Xiaomi is optical till about 10x and then starts using AI enhanced zoom in 30x and later. Otherwise, about the same performance but I'd give Xiaomi edge for it's optics being a bit more powerful.
@@joelconolly5574 Nice to know that But I've seen that some photos have more details with Vivo at higher X times, than Xiaomi Xiaomi has many adjustments and is more for photographers, which I like I got an update for Xiaomi, but there is no info that the camera has improved, and I'm kinda disappointed... I have the CA, UK version, and the 1.0.10.0. update version
Great review, thanks! Just bought it with the photo kit and my goal is to use it essentially as a camera to replace my mirrorless. Will keep my old Pixel 6a as my phone. XD
I don't see it replacing a mirrorless when it comes to work, but for travel, not having to carry a separate camera just for photo taking is a blessing. ahaha
Awesome review. Abang, do they have the light painting or fireworks mode eh? I tak jumpa la. Cool video you have here. Salutations from Singapore 🙋🏾♀️🙏🏾🌹
With miui i could suppress all apps i didn't want and all ads. With hyperos ads can not be totally suppressed. With hyperos you have no choice, all google stuff. With hyperos you can not deactivate all these apps from google. In reality Xiaomi just suppressed the wonderful customisation features. It doesn't feel like an upgrade to me. And we don't talk about battery life... Where miui could last 60/90 hours in standby mode, hyperos can last 1 day. Is it better?

S24 is very kdrama. Xiaomi is more natural for sure with less processing.

sometimes, it's not the weight, but the balance. very important to consider actual user ergonomics
