I also tried renaming it to start_protected_game as the readme file said but steam announced missing executable. If you know anything pls help, thanks in advance. EDIT: Solved. Move all the content in the same folder with ME2 launcher to the game's directory, change ME2 launcher's name to start_protected_game.exe( remember to backup the original one). And set it to launch as admin. Launch the game at start_protected_game.exe and the mod shall run. Ps: dont run eldenring.exe because steam will detect the launcher and replace it. Ps: I also quit modding months ago and conveniently forgot all knowledge about modding so my sincere apologise to people who seek me but got no help. I suggest joining Souls modders Discord server such as '?Servername?', talented modders up there might have better solutions.

i have seen this so many times, that people extract a zip or rar fiile just to copy it somewhere else. Just copy paste or drag the content to anywhere you need it. no need for additional steps
do you have a video for mergin regulation bins? i wanna use and overhaul for magic with the grand merchant and both have bins, and i know you cant just plop them in the mod folder and call it a day
For whatever reason the bat file will not launch anymore, and I've tried everything.... window on taskbar pops up like it's launching and then immediately closes, not the first one it seems to have this problem either, but I've see no solutions....

Strange. I did exactly as instructed for a specific custom weapon for pve. Game still plays as normal and the merchant doesn't sell the item. Even when launching from bat. Oh well.
When i go to lunch the mod engine a small window pops up for half a second then poofs immediately snd nothing happens,ahhh its cause they stopped supporting mod engine 2 it seems

auto closing might be a mod being used that's not compatible with the game version. have a check in the comments on the mods being used to see of there are other people having issues. EDIT: you can always put the mod engine 2 folder directly into the elden ring game folder if there is maybe an issue with it not locating teh exe

for anyone else having this issue with graphics being all wonky when starting the game with mod engine, turn off raytracing. It fixes the issue entirely.

@@justinjones1852 Don't worry about that message it's basicallty confirmation that EAC has been succesfully deactivated for offline play. As for mods not working it's hard to help without knowing the mods you tried to use. My best advice is to always check mod engine is upto date for the most current game version and this also applies to mods. Mods can break in the same way. The comments of the mod on the nexus is a god place to start to check if there is an issue with the mod or not. Mod authors will also be happy to help. EDIT: also important to check a mods requirments on nexus and to fully read install/description on the mods page as there wil be mods thats are not just simply unpacked and put into the mod engine 2 folder. I hope this helps
using multiple mods will make you have to do more advanced steps like merging regulation.bin files if the mods conflict with each other which is why they usually don't work. Your mods work fine by themselves but mess up together is a quick way to put it.@@justinjones1852

As long as they both don’t replace the same weapon then you can load both mods. After you have copied both mods open the msg folder and you will see the two files each mod replaces
i put both elden ring reforged and grand merchant mods into the folder. But it seems they are not compatible. Features such as deflect are gone and a lot of in game texts are unreadable. How can I combine them without these problem?

everything seems to work. i downloaded fps mod and it didnt change anything at the main menu but upon getting to the menu i had a message say i have some nughty files on my game. very confused because engine 2 auto disables all of that. does it just say that no matter what?

Unfortunately this means none of the new weapons, nor any of the new gestures, 2 of which are necessary for specific quests work either & my character won't die when imbibing St Trina's liquid (she falls down as if dead but then just gets back up again without dying). Obviously a mod I installed back then is breaking all the new stuff but it was so long ago that I've forgotten what I did lol. I tried verifying files on Steam but that hasn't fixed the issue so I'm kinda stumped. Could you tell me how to uninstall everything & redo it please? (in a way that won't invalidate my save file hopefully, as I only have this one character). Thanks

Does Mod Engine 2 no longer work? Followed the vid down to the letter, skipping EAC section. Tried using CCW mod no luck. Tried with a mod that was updated a few days ago and the launcher stills fails to load the game, even when ran as administrator . Am using steam version on windows 11 if that helps?
Yeah works fine for me. I just tested it and folowed the mod authors instructions. Place the file "regulation.bin" in "mod" folder created by Modengine 2!!! And make sure the mod version matches the game version as well!!! Mod engine 2 launched it fine and the mod was working
to launch the bat via steam put the path as parameter in steam settings like this "H:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game\launchmod_eldenring.bat" %command%

@@deardevil6999 sounds like you have not set your resolution correctly. go to game options and set it to your monitors resolution. Not sure what that has to do with my video about mod engine
@@SMACKYOURB1TCHUP Im set to 1440p, but the game still won't run in ultrawide. There is a remove black bars mod I'm trying to run, but sadly mod engine fails to start as I mentioned above

If you want an ultrawide fix then you need flawless widescreen www.flawlesswidescreen.org/ it will fix the widescereen issue, will also allow you to remove CA, unlock framerate. adjust FOV for Elden Ring all on the fly. You don't need anything else for flawless widescreen to woek you just open it the game attaches and you click the fixes you want etc
@@SMACKYOURB1TCHUP I tried unpacking it and I tried viewing it like you did in the video and it instead has two seperate files, similar to the one we unpacked, but I can't unpack these ones. I could get the name for you in a second if that helps. Is it possible I downloaded the file incorrectly?
@@tastywinner2848 I dunno it unpacks and looks fine to me. You can avoid this step anyway because mod engine 2 disables online play for you EDIT: have you downloaded the main file ? You need to download the OPTIONAL file called disable EAC

Do you still need to do the disable EAC? I noticed when I open the game the current version of Mod Engine 2, it didnt open EAC. To be safe its probably better to do it, just curious if anyone knows
so i tried installing overhaul mods and it change all my ash of war into lion claw including shield. it change the spell the way the mod intended but it change all ash of war for some reason
mod engine 2 is so convenient because you can keep mods seperate from game folder this makes swap between vanilla and moded files easy as a click I do wish DS3 support was better, some newer DS3 mods work on 1.15.1 but things like randomizer still use 1.15 which is not supported on modengine 2
i have the moveset mod but when i try to install other mods it says replace files if i do that some of the mods dont seem to work all the way. any help?

If modengine2 can't detect game: extract modengine2 into game folder where eldenring.exe is located, launch it with admin rights

backup your save file prior to modding for peace of mind. Disabling EAC is 100% reliable. You’re literally forcing the game offline
Now ur save file with all the items, does it start off at the beginning of the game or have all bosses and storylines been progressed through?

instead of immediately extracting just extract it directly into the final place the files will end up.

to launch the bat via steam put the path as parameter in steam settings like this "H:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game\launchmod_eldenring.bat" %command%
i had a mod installed and it worked all good and well and i uninstalled it at one point when i was finished with it.But now i need it again and i reinstalled it, but it wont work now i cant figuer out why. Any help would be great!
This just does not work! All I get is a prompt for 1 second and nothing launches! I tried all your fixes in the comments and nothing!

@@deardevil6999 sounds like you have not set your resolution correctly. go to game options and set it to your monitors resolution. Not sure what that has to do with my video about mod engine
@@SMACKYOURB1TCHUP Im set to 1440p, but the game still won't run in ultrawide. There is a remove black bars mod I'm trying to run, but sadly mod engine fails to start as I mentioned above
@@deardevil6999 aww bro don't use that mod. If you want an ultrawide fix then you need flawless widescreen www.flawlesswidescreen.org/ it will fix the widescereen issue, will also allow you to remove CA, unlock framerate. adjust FOV for Elden Ring all on the fly. You don't need anything else for flawless widescreen to woek you just open it the game attaches and you click the fixes you want etc

if you you disable eac and you put a save file and you activate back your eac are you gonna get ban

@@SMACKYOURB1TCHUP I tried unpacking it and I tried viewing it like you did in the video and it instead has two seperate files, similar to the one we unpacked, but I can't unpack these ones. I could get the name for you in a second if that helps. Is it possible I downloaded the file incorrectly?
@@tastywinner2848 I dunno it unpacks and looks fine to me. You can avoid this step anyway because mod engine 2 disables online play for you EDIT: have you downloaded the main file ? You need to download the OPTIONAL file called disable EAC

if you want to check more than one mod and both of them have the same directories under the same name, how to do it? when I create a separate directory for another mod in the mod folder, the game no longer sees it
yo question when i download mod enging 2 it doesn't download .bat files and neither does it properly download mod engine 2 .exe idk what to do

Do you still need to do the disable EAC? I noticed when I open the game the current version of Mod Engine 2, it didnt open EAC. To be safe its probably better to do it, just curious if anyone knows

how do i install more than 1 mod at ounce ? for example all my boss mods overight each other

so i tried installing overhaul mods and it change all my ash of war into lion claw including shield. it change the spell the way the mod intended but it change all ash of war for some reason
Can you do mod manager downloads or is it only manual?
mod engine 2 is so convenient because you can keep mods seperate from game folder this makes swap between vanilla and moded files easy as a click
I do wish DS3 support was better, some newer DS3 mods work on 1.15.1 but things like randomizer still use 1.15 which is not supported on modengine 2
it gives me a crashhadler error when i try to open the .bat
i have the moveset mod but when i try to install other mods it says replace files if i do that some of the mods dont seem to work all the way. any help?
