@@sebastien18 no lmao 🤣 had a cold I didn’t fully recover from and then damaged my voice from overusing for work when it was already in a bad condition. Sadly had to use my voice for work for several days after this so it took a while to heal 🥲
@@ShizukaAndersonI just recently subscribed to your channel ma’am. I enjoy your videos a lot. Thank you for your wonderful content! Mario from San Antonio, Texas ✌️
Whoa. You reply on RUclips? That's awesome! I was in Tokyo 3 weeks ago and saw some of the places you featured!!! Need the intro back! @@ShizukaAnderson
I used to work in Ehime Prefecture in the 1980's! It was so remote back then. I had to take an 8 hour ferry from Kobe to get there. Ehime was a rural, slow-paced corner of Japan. I worked for a paper company and unfortunately, the stench of sulfur was everywhere. I can still smell it now! I also remember the wide variety of fish the local boats brought in every day. That was quite an experience. Love Japan and the food, keep 'em coming, I will be watching!
It was crazy different! But it seems a lot of people prefer the day old because that’s what they’re used to! The fresh one was super chewy! It’s definitely worth a try 🙌🏼
Merry Christmas Shizuka ❤🎄🎉☺️. Wishing you and your family a wonderful festive season. Please be safe, take care of yourself and enjoy this special time. Thank you for your wonderful RUclips video!!❤ PS: We love Sashimi 🥳!!
Hope you got your voice back Shizuka! Appreciate all the hard work that you and your editors/videographers put into this channel. Hope 2024 brings you all even more good times than 2023. Be safe!
Hello Shizuka, I just found your channel and I look forward to watching your journeys through Japan. I would love to come visit someday so it’s great to learn about the food and culture here on Japan by Food. I’m also a statue collector and just wanted to say you have been such an excellent host at Prime1. Having you introduce us collectors to new and exciting statues has made collecting fun again and i just wanted to say Thank You 😊
This was so insightful and fascinating, thank you Shizuka for showing us how this sashimi is made! Oh also I hope you get some rest for your voice and recover soon, have some ginger and honey tea usually helps :)
Thank you!! Unfortunately I had to use my voice for several days in a row so it took several more days to get it fully working again 😅 but it’s back now!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
i fish freshwater and salt water with rod and reel all over the usa, i wonder if any of those boats would hire me on. what an amazing job that would be.
We don’t see fish of that size and quality off the southern California coast. When cut into sashimi that Bonito looked more like Bluefin. Did it taste like Bluefin? It really looked that good.😋
Disclaimer for the uninitiated. Not ALL Sashimi are best served fresh or freshly caught, some like maguro/tuna sashimi from really good sushi restaurants are aged first for a week or so in their freezer to mellow out the fishy and iron taste and gives it that melt in your mouth tenderness.
I just love your videos, but I wonder, why do you release them every Monday morning? I live in Europe and it's just a pain to remember watching your videos when I am rushing to work in the craziest day of the week. Please don't get it wrong, your content is just amazing, but very hard to watch in time and I am often missing it, unfortunately...
@@JapanbyFood There has got to be a way to eliminate the possibility entirely. Because these things are not always visible to the naked eye and can be very hard to spot! I hope we can come up with better ways to avoid parasite infections from food consumption.
How do you guys like my new husky voice? 😆 Look forward to a bit more of it in the next video too! 🤣
Too much karaoke probably.
The huskiness is cool! Sounds badass 💪

Fish with dark flesh doesn't really taste very good you have to aquire a taste for it but you certainly enjoy it Shizuka 😊😊❤
Have you never tried tuna sashimi?? 😮 Easily the best sashimi out there!

Shizuka now becoming boneto expert
So when is the by good tavern opening
hopefully one day!
The wall is real.
Never had bonito. Look's delicious. I have had the flakes though. tastes like tuna kinda except they smoke it I think
flakes are good too!
Hope you do natto beans. Those taste like the bestest. lol. @@JapanbyFood

you losing your voice on an episode about Bonito feels like a JuJutsu Kaisen Anime reference lol

I'm surprised there's no wasabi!

Is it safe to eat raw fish? What about the potential for parasites?
In Japan it is generally very safe because of the food preparation standards and a great technique!

I could eat raw fish every day 😋
What’s the name of that thick soy sauce?
We gotta find out TT
I come from Rafsan the chotovai...😅
Says a lot about our society when a grown woman hasn't held a fish in her entire life
it looks like you've got a flu? Get well soon Shizuka..
No flu! Just overused my voice from working a lot using my voice shortly after getting over a cold 😢
You never held a fish in your life? Never cooked a fish? 😲
are you a model?
Too expensive living in japan...
Yuck.
