We as Indians make it a very “Big Deal” when it comes to applying for VISA to these countries.
Nervousness, Overconfidence, Casual Dressing and Poor Body Language are few contributing factors that lead to VISA Rejections by the Consulars.

B1/B2 visa was rejected. I am applying again. I created a new account on ustraveldoc and after submitting the applicant's details after that it says the similar profile already exists(login there if forgot password then reset and login).
So cannot I create a new account to schedule an interview?

possibly you need to use a different email id. Or you can use the past information application and modify it

Hi, thanks for sharing such an informative video. It does clear many of our doubts. Had a small query, so if we are taking property paper, marriage certificate, college certificates etc., as supporting documents for the interview, should it be an original copy or will a photocopy suffice?
photocopies will do, they need for validation and reference

no you cant stay 10 years at a stretch, I think the max stay is possible for 180 days in one go. Then you have to leave and re-enter

One very important information which I wanted to share during my Consular Interview in Kolkata,
since I posses 3 Passports (Indian), make sure, while the Consular officer asks your passport you just give the latest one and not all at once.
I gave all 3 together and this made my Consular Officer a bit annoyed and he asked me “WHY AM I SEEING 3 PASSPORTS HERE??”, so I had to explain him properly and finally he was convinced.
Though, such scenario varies from Officer to Officer. As I saw at another window that, the Consular Officer took all the passports at once and he was checking each page thoroughly.
So just be confident and explain any question raised by the Consular with proper reasoning and the same should be genuine as well.

everyone needs to fill separate DS160, depending on the age of kids you can check whether they need or not by dropping an email to support. For interview, you can link all the Ds160 together and book one slot. You need to add others as dependent while booking the slot. Hello, there is no thumb rule for minimum bank balance. You can keep what you think is necessary to stay in US for your planned duration. Land paper is necessary to establish the fact that you have strong reason to come back. Which is an absolute deal breaker - so be very well prepared with your reason of going and coming back

we think traveldoc website is retired now. You can book your appointmrny in new site given in description box. DS160 link is separate anyway. You can change it till your biometric date

Hi! Planning to go for US B1/B2 visa. My passport contains my wife's given name with her family surname even after marriage. Before going for visa, is it necessary to get her name corrected in my passport with my family surname as we are applying together for visa and her passport contains her given name with my family surname. hello not needed if her other documents carry the same name as passport. My wife’s passport also doesn’t have my surname - absolutely not an issue. Carry marriage certificate as an extra proof

no you can make updates in your DS160 by retrieving the already filled DS-160. You should get a new application number That new application number should be updated in your Appointment Confirmation. You can do that online or mentioning the same to the Biometric Centre. So that they can update it.
However will recommend wait for the new passport to avoid the hassle

We got mail regarding cancellation of interview which is in March end-2024 due to minor mistake in form filling. Can we update it now to get same interview date? Or we have to pay fees again for getting interview date? Links in cancellation mail are not working showing error
you should mail to support team (email id given in description box), my understanding is , you may not need to pay again , but update the form and book the slot again. Dont think you will get same slot, however recommend to check with support team

you have to go to a different website, link given in description. There you need to make a profile, give DS160 number and then you will-be able to book slot after payment. You can check the latest QnA video we have uploaded. Explained the steps there

Not necessarily needed, but good to have as back up
Nice video, very informative one. only question is that do we require so many supporting documents? I dont think we require college certificates, ITR files, investments and proofs of properties in India if u r applying for B1/B2 visa. Rest of the documents you have suggested is ok.
We think it is good to carry as you dont know what may be asked there
Everything which you have mentioned in your DS-160, be it your college/grad degrees, past and present work experience, NOC, Monthly income, Financial Background, your assets/properties, Bank Balance, term deposits, Credit card statements, SIPs, stock investment, Letter of Invitation and each and everything which you have specified in your DS-160. make sure to take Coloured copies of all.
The same may be asked or may not..depends on the Consular and your answers!

sure they can, no need to mention in application. Once you are in for the interview, they will ask what language you are comfortable with - yu can mention Hindi there
When you arrive in US, does Border Control or Immigration Officer ask for your complete Itinerary at the immigration counter or simply Return Air tickets and hotel reservations would suffice?
Not have exact first hand information, but my understanding is you dont need detailed itinerary but idea of where you are going can be helpful

yeh we both went together, any one of you can decide to answer common questions. No they didn't ask for any documents. It was basic 3-4 questions. Why US, where we work, Where we have travelled before like this

there is no separate confirmation after DS160. Once you submit the form, you get an application number - use that to book the slot

I think you can book the fastest available slot , once you give the interview, VISA can come in 7 days.
Challenge lies in getting the slot timely. You can either drop an email to support team and request for the processing of fasttrack or emergency visa. Otherwise go through a trustworthy agent (we dont have any contacts) who can help you get a quick slot

After an application is retrieved, it gives two choices, either to continue with same or create new application. Are you asking to choose create new application?
no you can continue with existing application, where all your details will be retrieved, if you make any changes then after submission it will create a new application number with changed details

You can create a profile in the in Scheduling site given in description box of this video. While scheduling , you can add dependents or family members against that individual's DS160 number. Then you both can schedule same slot together. You need to opt for language at the embassy during interview. So once you are there, opt for Hindi.
For your child, dont think it is needed. Please drop an email to support team and reconfirm
Hi, if i apply for a b1/b2 visa now any idea how long i need to wait it says 246 calendar days will it take exact date or less i wanna travel to USA within may 2024 but I'm unemployed and my parents are sponsoring me to travel how do I show them my ties here in India and any idea how much bank balance or statement there should be in USD for proofs?
you can tie back to India as your parents are here and if you have your investments here. Also if there is any house or property here.
In terms of Bank Balance, depends on your length of tour, if you have flight and hotels booked, 1.5 lac INR is sufficient for a week tour in US. But you have to mention your reasons clearly which should comply with B1/B2 purpose.
For waiting time, you can check but I dont think slots available before 1 year (atleast in India)
if I want to stay for a month or so what about that do i need to say the truth about my duration as I will be staying in my friend place for the month so I was wondering if telling the truth about my duration is required?
you should be clear with your plan. If you are working in India, you should have some document saying your 1 month leave is approved. Basically the idea is provide as much concrete plan as possible - that is why we presented a very crisp 7 day itinerary. 1. Yes, but you need to show you have a plan. So you can make up an itinerary with tentative dates
2. If you are student, few things are important - how you financing your trip to US, purpose of it, who is accompanying you, reason to come back, leave approval from your college or university - etc.
Plus why you want to travel to US now , can you not wait after you get a job - be prepare for questions on these lines
If we submit ds160, then pay on visa portal and book an appointment. Then, later if we realize that there is mistake in ds160 then what can we do?

you can go to DS160 site and recall and edit the DS160. You will get a new application number. At the time of biometric , you should update them to tag your appointment booking with the latest DS160 number

Photo will be clicked at OFC biometric centre.. no need to carry any photographs

NOC is a way of shoing your leave is approved and you will be joining back on XX date. You can show your leave approval letter also

I also work in Govt. Deptt under Finance Ministry and yes, in our case, we have to apply for 2 NOCs;
1. Application for filing VISA for traveling abroad.
2. After VISA is approved then we have to apply for another NOC i.e. for Permission to visit abroad.
In govt organisations they have become very strict these days!
Though the good thing is everything is online and no paperwork is required.

you must have already filled a DS160, you can retrieve and modify it close to the interview date to put all the right details

no, if you plan to apply for interview in different country, you have to fill separate DS-169. We mentioned anywhere "within India"

Hi, thanks for the informative video. I just wanted to ask, I wanted to update certain information in my DS160, should I do it closer to the interview date or is there a limit till when I can update? My interview date is next year so I’d rather do it closer incase any more information comes up which needs to be updated
Also, I have booked my appointment separately, my parents are also applying - but I haven’t booked for them yet as I was confused about the dependent/group interview bit. Now I am planning to schedule appointment for my parents as a group. Is there a possibility that I can also add myself to this?
Also in my mothers ds160 we have mentioned that she is funding the trip herself, so it shouldn’t be a problem that I am adding her as a dependent while scheduling the interview right?

hi Neha, yes you should change DS160 details closer to the date. Though their is no hard cut off, but suggest do at-least one week in advance.
You can add yourself to their interview but then you get a later slot.
Also if she is applying as dependent for interview slot, it has nothing to do with self sponsoring. Me and my wife booked together as dependent, but both shown self funding

In your appointment confirmation document, the fee payment details are already mentioned, just take complete appointment confirmation (11 pages) with you and fee payment receipt wont be required.

dusre country se aap punjabi and hindi language pe nahi interview de sakte, but han apply kar sakte ho if you are okay to gove interview in English.
India pe I think hindi as language option is available at every interview centre

In the new portal once you log in and Continue Application after finishing DS-160, it should lead you to payment options. For the URL of new portal, you can use the link given in description box

You have to log in to your account to schedule slot for Biometric & Interview. You can drop an email also to the support mail id given in the description box of this vide
how to make payment of visa fee after submitting DS 160 form online
there is a separate website which I have given link in description. You should go there, register, create profile, Start an application with passport number, DS160 confirmation number and few other info, then on the left side you should "Schedule Appointment" , under which you have to first make the payment.
As my parents have Canada visitors visa but haven't travelled to canada and i want to apply for US tourist visa then where i have to declare in ds 160 form . As i can't find it in ds 160
in DS160, you should only mention countries you already visited. If you havent visited Canada, no need to mention that

yeh but in 2 months it will be tough to get slot within India. You have to fill new DS160 if you want to give your interview in Canada. Basically your form filling and interview country should be same
