Jason love your videos. You should write tutorial book. Of all the I guys follow here on RUclips your the most knowledgeable one. I do have a book on Resolve its by Lance Phillips. I'm kinda of disappointed in it. The graphics in it is not good. They should come out with a textbook version. Back in the late 1990s and early 2000 I took a class in Microsoft Word and Excel. And the textbook was great it took you step by step and the graphics were in color. That is what I'm looking for but the company that wrote the textbook for Microsoft doesn't have a book for Davinci.

Every time I download the thing nothing shows up. So I download (actually install) it again then it says “newer version already installed” and now I don’t know what to do.
Great job! Question I have studio version. After the upgrade, I look at the audio portion and it does not have the new ducking, etc. listed like your video says what possibly do I need to do next?
Hi! Thanks! First, I would double check that you actually downloaded and installed studio, not the free version. Next make sure you select your audio track by clicking in the area below the track name, then open the inspector and you should see the new tools there. Just note that the audio track needs to be selected in order to see the option in the inspector.
😡 that is exactly what happened. Didn’t realize it wasn’t the Studio version. Now I have to figure out what to do next…. To get the studio version to upgrade what I have. Appreciate your help!!!
If you have already paid for studio, you should be able to just download it and install it and everything should work out fine. I would recommend backing up your database, just in case. But usually everything works out just fine.

Could you please tell me when full Resolve 19 is published and I want to upgrade from the current version, do I have to deactivate the license and activate it again? I will be doing that on my new PC, so only one machine.
You don’t have to deactivate your current version, all you have to do is run the update. Also no need to uninstall your current version. I’ll make an announcement when the full version is released and you can also keep an eye on Blackmagic website and social media.

Hi! The Beta version is pretty stable as far as I've seen. But if you are starting out with an important project, I'd use 18.6.6 until the 19 full release comes out.
I’ve just installed the davinci resolve 19 public beta and whenever I boot it up it loads then pops up with a screen “unsupported gpu processing mode.” And “please review the gpu drivers and gpu configuration under preferences” yet I can’t locate where preferences is
I love the way BMD keeps cranking out new versions! From reading the Black Magic forums, a common mistake is downloading the free version when you wanted Studio and vice versa. So if you don't want to be That Guy(tm), make sure you get the right one Also, if you are a Linux weenie who uses the makeresolvedeb utility, there is a new version of that, too.
I followed your instructions for downloading DVR 19.0b1 Windows but I dont't have the new audio tools: voice isolation, dialogue leveler, dialogue seperator, music remixer, ducker. What went wrong? Thanks for your advice.
Sounds like you downloaded the free version. You need to download the studio version to have those particular features. If you already have studio, once you download resolve 19 studio, your key should automatically be transferred over.
Sounds like you downloaded the studio version. If you already have studio, you can use the key for your original studio version, if you need the free version, just go back to the website and download the free version instead of studio.

how do you downgrade back to 18 cause 19 has long render times for no reason
Just go back to the support page and find Resolve 18, download and install it. You should be good to go.
I think it is barmy that you can't run 18 and 19, beta alongside each other.

If you have an nvidia graphics card, I think you need to run the studio driver for it, not the gaming driver. Maybe that's the issue?

If you’ve downloaded the program before, there should be a download only button. But if not the only way is to put in your information.

Try not putting the info, I used to, then stopped and just clicked agree and download, it downloaded the zip file.
