Great tip on the 120.5. I’ve never used mine upside down.

That was very helpful and a real revelation. I tried it on a project I’m stripping down and it works a treat! More tips on tools would be great.

Great tool tip. The 120.5 was the staple puller I bought for my first project and I struggled with it during that project and when I took apart a friend's sofa to repair the broken frame, resulting in me leaving a blood sacrifice to the upholstery gods on both projects. Now I know I wasn't using it as intended. I've got another project in the queue and will be using it this way on it and from now on. Thanks for posting this. I would love to see more tool tips from you in the future!

Thanks for the tip...was using needle nose pliers and at first I thought it was excessive amount of glue on a beautiful barley twist chair, then I realized how excessively stapled it was.

I don't work in this field, but I've had to removed upholstery staples on occasion, using my trusty flat screwdriver. I can practically feel the comment section cringe when I mention that. What can I say, I don't work in this field, but it warms my heart to be surrounded by craftsmen, so I felt compelled to comment.

Agree. Holding it in that orientation also prevents it from skipping forward and hitting your other hand or anything else you don’t want the staple puller to jab into.

This is good to know. I've slipped and jabbed myself more times than I care to recall.

Staple lifters can be evil...I often use a mallet with mine...hands are out of the way then 🙂
