Here Iam crying in Canon T_T
@@nelsonmartins2574 Same. I'm actually quite surprised about it, too, considering Canon is the 800 lb. Gorilla in the room, or one of 'em at the very least!
Is this available for Canon EFM too?
I LOVE the direction 3rd party lenses are going!
If you are a Fuji user, I recommend the Fujinon XC 35mm F/2.
I personally would still choose the sigma 30mm 1.4. I got mine for 200 dollars and has been incredible
200 bucks is great 😅.
I can only find it 350 or more
Where'd you find that sigma at?
Mark, loving your content. The "budget/best bang for $" is severly lacking on youtube. Im so done with the "How to do a camera thing the easiest way!" *shows $10,000 worth of gear*
Cheers! Subbed.
I was pretty sure which lens this would be and was not disappointed! I've been watching quite a few reviews on this but yours is the most comprehensive I've seen thus far. All of my camera gear is used and i look forward to picking one up from one of my usual sources!
I had to send my 27mm TTArtisan AF lens back back the vignette was so bad. Glad to see this one doesn't suffer the from the same issue. Definitely looking worth the pickup
It's very unfortunate that when I ordered it, the seller told me that TTArtisan discontinued the Fuji-X variant.
Thanks for the informative review. I have been a pro photographer for over 35 years and although I own the Fuji 35mm f/1.4, I was curious to purchase the TTArtisan 35mm, as my experience with their AF 27 was very positive. Mine arrives next week. One point, I thought their firmware only worked on PCs. If it does now on Mac, I will be so pleased!
It worked for me on Mac.
Hey Mark, I just got the Brightinstar 35mm f/0.95 and the Canon EF-M 55-200mm
I'm so excited to get those in the mail as those are definitely going to be lenses that expand my capabilities as a videographer/photographer. I've basically built a career in photography with the Canon M50 and the kit 15-45mm lens over the past 2 years (which I purchased after watching your videos), everything but the Brightinstar I've gotten refurbished and I don't regret it. I do almost everything in manual mode while using manual focus, even sports photography, so all manual lenses are no issue for me.
Thank you for suggesting these things, I never would have been able to get such a versatile kit if it weren’t for you looking out for our budgets
I love that Brightin star lens, you can’t go wrong, possibly my favourite lens right now.
If only I didn't get a 30mm Sigma used for a great price, then I would absolutely consider this lens. Because yeah, these chinese lenses (that seem to come from the same manufacterer anyway) look pretty good, good optics, very compact size, but the lack of AF is offputting for me
The worst thing about this lens is the slow roll out for the rest of the mounts. it launched in november last year and still no word on Z mount.
Also can you cover the Viltrox 56mm F1.7 next ? it just launched yesterday and is just 140 dollars.
Thanks for the review, might grab one if the sony mount version comes out. BTW, the quality of the blurred background is called bokeh, while the amount of it is called "toneh" (invented by Kasey of Camera Conspiracies). Toneh! Everyone should adopt this term, it is great.
The "Toneh" joke cracks me up every time. 😄
Seriously though I think this might be my new travel lens.
Great channel and content. Blessings, Mark. 🙏😎
Great videos Mark!! Thank you so much for what you do!!
Thanks Mark. I may well add this lens to the 27mm f2.8 TTArtisan lens on Sony E mount. Looks good value for money.
Mark, well done. Even though I have a mild distaste of your channel built around recommending cheaply built budget lenses, your soothing delivery and persuasive yet natural script writing still keeps me coming back for more. Thank you for being consistently great. I wish you success when you branch out for other types of content.
Mark, you are doing a great job!
A lot if us appreciate your style 🙏
Thanks.
When I saw the announcement for this on their page I was so hyped especially when I saw the price. Hopefully they'll be doing a line of primes like this
A great replacement for the DX 35mm 1.8 from Nikon F. So you can mount it directly without the adapter. Sad that it's not a full frame lens
@@ReinoldFZ you are missing a lot. Both 35mm 1.8 are APSC. So, it is a perfect replacement for the Nikon F one adapted on my Z50.
Mark! Which is a better step up from a kit lens.. 7artisans 25mm f1.8 or 35mm f1.4 for just £10 more???
It's amazing how all these 3rd party manufacturers have been improving over and over their tech. This is GREAT VALUE for money!
while i can relate 35mm APSC is cool, i'd love to see your pick and thoughts on best budget APS-C 23mm~ish or wide ones! you review "value" lenses so good, i'd LOVE to see your pick on wider lenses ones and your thoughts too
35mm slr film cameras used to come with a 50mm f1.8 as its “standard” lens. Often, that was the only “native” lens amateur photographers could afford, and any additional lenses purchased would be from third parties.
Mine came today! Love it so much and i paid 139.00 tax and shipping included! This really is an awesome lens!
Great content and great detailed explanation as usual. Thank you!
I have the TT Artisans 27mm F2.8 autofocus and am very happy with it. However, I cant really see the sense in this 35mm offering. You can get the Fujifilm XC 35mm f2 for around the same price. This is an official Fujifilm lens and is optically identical to the highly regarded 35mm f2 XF variant. I think TT Artisans would be better to build a decent alternative to the Fujifilm 18mm f2.
Hey Mark, neat review! I just want to ask if there is an update on your acquisition of the Sigma 18-50mm? I was waiting for a comparison between it and the Tamron 17-70. You said you purchased one on the Tamron video when someone was asking.
Yes, I have it, need to make the video.
@@markwiemelsWill wait for this one 😇
@@markwiemels Sweet! Thanks for the update!
One of the ...Artisans needs to start making AF versions of their .95 lenses. Or someone needs to make a better knockoff of Metabones's speed booster.
I wish they made all of these lenses for L mount, they only make Sonys but S5iiX is so good it needs more lens options
Thanks Mark, This TT offering is exciting at the price/performance level.
Dilemma- I have the Sigma trio and the slightly wider 30mm f1.4 is still a powerful lens at 7yo.
Do you want to compare the two? I'd love to see the result.
I plan to do a comparison, but I think if you have the Sigma 30, you don’t need the 35, unless it really brings something new to the table, like the Brightin Star 35mm f0.95.
@@markwiemels a comparison is what i immediately thought of because i dont own anything in the range, you could even add in the sony 35 f1.8 oss as an even more expensive option
@@markwiemels Okay thanks Mark, I'd forgotten the f0,95 was out there but I can't cope the the crazy D of F at f .95. My adapted Canon 50mm f1.2 is tough enough to nail focus as it is.
This lens is a BEAST
nice lens but I prefer the sony 35mm 1.8 because of OSS
I would buy this lens just for the rainbow flares
I was expecting to be the 24mm, 35mm or 56mm F1.2 AF from Sirui. Please make that review!! Those lenses are actually a game changer and each one is only 299 USD!
They really aren't, saw a technical review and they are pretty bad. Terrible color difference from the 24 and the others, the 56 is really soft in general
Too bad it's autofocus
Now I get it 😂
Appreciate your channel. You always provide a lot of great insight.
I’m curious how do you think this lens compares to the XC version of the 35mm f2?
I think the XC is probably better. More relatable autofocus and wouldn’t have the flare issues this one does.
But I haven’t tested, so that’s an educated guess.
Rocks...
Trying to decide my first prime - if you could only have either this lens, the TTA 27mm 2.8 or the manual 35mm 1.4, which one would it be?
i would choose this or maybe the 50mm 1.8 from sony
Hello. Which one you will suggest for zve10 m3 or Hohem iSteady MT2 ?
I hope you are keeping well Mark!
But also... as if this lens doesn't support Canon!! >: (
Mark, can you share which 23 or 35mm manual focus lens for a Fuji mount you would recommend? I would like to try a manual focus lens for Fujifilm but there are so many alternatives it’s hard to decide which to try. Thanks for any help you can provide and for your informative videos.
This is your lens, 100% - ruclips.net/video/T2Qx2pdphFk/видео.html
How would you compare the optical quality of this lens to the Brightin Star 35mm f0.95?
This is probably something I should have covered in the video. Personally, I think the images out of the Brightin Star are some of the best I have seen out of any lens. This lens is like the Brightin Star lite, it has many similar image quality features, but at f1.8 it doesn't have the same level (amount) of bokeh or low light performance. The Brightin Star also doesn't have the flare issues this lens has, which can be problematic in some situations.
The title couldn't be more true :)
Does it have a Mf switch as well?
manual focus lenses are to photography what manual transmission are to automobiles... im old school..."manual" anything is right at home for me.
Interesting, I disagree. I drive a manual and agree on that part but not for cameras. I think it depends on what you are shooting. When I'm shooting moving cars and have to quickly switch between subjects at varying distances, an autofocus lens combined with back button focus is wonderful.
@@RobVI i had to go back to the video to remind myself why i commented...i was referring to some people being manual focus challenged. i was NOT commenting on how manual focus is better... i love my Sony and Olympus auto focus...however i do have manual focus skills i can rely upon when i choose/need... that being said there is at least 1 entire generation that has no idea how to drive a stick shift automobile... that was my true comparison.
@squidskunk okay, I see what you what you mean. I wonder what generation that is since I'm gen Z which is the youngest generation that can get a license 🤔 but I get your point.
why lenses have firmware?
The price is not great, XC 35mm F2 from Fuji cost only $30 more
i feel like this lens is better then the 27mm f2.8.
nothing for canon dslr?
its available for Canon but too bad its only a manual focus lens due to Canon threatening to sue any lens maker who makes an autofocus for their R-series lenses.
So, will this be for the Nikon DX F mount for a DSLR, or only the Z mount?
For Nikon DX, grab a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G. I used that lens almost exclusively on DX Nikon DSLRs for about 10 years. Great lens.
@@jasonnewton885 I have it. You're right, great lens.
Is this available for the Canon EF-M mount?
I doubt it will be made for it as canon discontinued the ef-m line
Well thanks to Canon enforcing it's autofocus patent on the design of the physical connection and it's autofocus protocol subsequent litigation, resulting in freezing out third party lens makers for autofocus lenses on its new mirrorless camera it's too bad its forced to be a manual focus lens for this series of cameras by Canon
Frankly, I find the ubiquitous 50mm (on full frame) BORING... and stopped carrying them years ago. Never bothered with the APS-C version (30 to 35mm) either. Never owned a Micro 4/3 camera, but wouldn't have wanted a 25mm on one, if I did.
Instead I opt for a m oderately wide 35mm lens (on full frame, so 22 or 24mm on APS-C)... along with a 75, 80, 85 or 90mm (50 to 60mm) short tele.
But, hey, to each his own. Maybe the reason I dislike 50mm was because waaay back when I started doing photography most 35mm film cameras came with one (or 45, 48, 52, 55, 57mm). In fact, the forst interchangeable lens camera I ever bought came with a 57mm f/1.2 lens. Today most ILCs come with a zoom, if any kit lens at all.
It was only when I started shooting with APS-C cameras that I found use for 50mm lenses that had been gathring dust in a closet. On the smaller sensor format they act as a short, fast " portrait" tele... much like my 75 and 85mm lenses did on my "full frame" film cameras.
No Canon versions? WTH?
FINALLY
I have the same sigma lens and it tocks
man i just got the 7Artisans 35mm f1.2 MF lens.......FOR THE SAME PRICE (! >
You should have checked the 33mm F1.2 AF from Sirui! it's just 299 USD!
too bad its not wide angle 😆
So not good, cool.
Garbage lens. The Viltrox 33mm is optically better, autofocus, brighter at f1.4, and has been on the market so long you can find lots of them used at a lower price too.
I have used both. This lens is sharper, lighter, cheaper and has less aberration. Viltrox has better autofocus, at this stage (firmware may improve the TT), much better flare resistance, and is f1.4.
it is unbelievable that so many people said bad things about this lens before even trying it.
on paper the specs is okay but the minimum focusing distance is disappointing. At a little extra, XC35 is probably a better choice
