Took it out on the course, this morning and shot my best round of the summer. 12/3 worked great with my driver. 6/1.5 worked with my hybrid off the tee. Need to experiment a bit more with my 3-wood. Very excited about this address!

Just came back from a practice session using this tip. Took a little bit of time getting us to not having the club butted up to the ball however after a dozen shots, started to Absolutely nail my 3 wood using a shortened "back and in" technique. This also works wonders for long irons eg, 1 iron which also had a laser guided flight. DID NOT hit one single hook which is a bonus , just need to work on the occasional slice which crept in. Again thanks again Steve you are the man!!!

Since seeing the original video I implemented that and have never driven the ball better. I've dropped more than 5 strokes because now my second shot is in play and not hitting putt putt the woods or dropping from a lost ball. Secondary benefit is I've saved at least a dozen+ balls.

F me but I barely understood what I was actually supposed to do but for fun at the range I tried this. All kinds of terrible thoughts went through my mind before I swung. Never did I think I’d launch straight down the middle-over and over. Decided to play 18 using driver for every par 4 and 5. Never lost a ball, no penalties off the tee, hit fairways or light ruff all day. I got paired with a young guy playing his 7th round who couldn’t get off the tee. Showed him on 17 this tip, he hit a low runner but was in play. On 18 he ripped it high, down the middle, 240. Makes no sense but it works.

Yes, woods, hybrids and down to S/W , just incremental reductions in distance behind the ball ie sand wedge only 3 or 4 inches. I think the principle is that many swing faults are initiated very early in the backswing - this eliminates some and ensures you go back on plane. As Steve says though it must be shoulders that make this adjustment, not just moving the arms.

To take this out on the golf course. Simply wrap some tape on your driver shaft 12 inchs (30cm) back from where the shaft joins the ferrule. To measure 3 inches back most modern drives it is about 3 inches from centre of driver to toe.
