Recently got into photography (astrophotography primarily) and now I want to experiment in filming. A tripod has been the best purchase I ever bought. I use it way more than I thought. Even tried using a monopod which can be useful. And lately I finally buckled and got a selfie stick, lol. It was actually very useful since I am a solo photographer. But I ended up just using my tripod and camera delay function. I don't have enough practice in using a selfie stick though they are useful for taking close up shots. Or perhaps if you are vlogging.

This is really great! So many good tips. Definitely inspires me to better storytelling in my videos. Here’s my challenge: Most of the “how to film yourself” tutorials like this are set in areas where there are no other people. I live in a big city, where there are always other people not too far. I feel so uneasy about setting up my camera on a tripod and filming myself walking away. I’m so afraid that someone’s going to see me doing that and snatch my gear at the first opportunity! Any tips on getting shots like this in a city? Or is it simply a matter of being more creative in the shots. Maybe they need to mostly be mid and close shots, and then the wider shots don’t include me? Any ideas?

I set it in full manual :) so no auto white balance, iso or shutter speed.

@@lilafromyoutube You've said: it's in the intro. You're making us rewind, which on RUclips is a no-no. Repeating the edited video at the end would have made your video many times better.

Wow I loved this! So helpful and I love that you show all the struggle and mistakes one could have!
May I ask, if you could do a video on your workflow? I always wonder, if people usually import and save all the materials (forever?) or after editing they delete the unnecessary files at some point? Or do you have some kind of end date for it to delete it all. I gather SO MANY files after years and I usually dont look back at them.
Also, when you start editing - do you choose the files you wanna work with and put it in an extra folder etc. Like this whole organisation I'm so overwhelmed and I need organisation xD Esp. nowadays tho when I rather shoot with my phone for social media shots. My phone is SO CLUTTERED. In the past with an SD Card it was a lot easier because I actually sit down at my PC but now I just edit on my phone directly.
