- We are delighted to announce that Nightwish are now official World Land Trust Ambassadors, joining fellow high-profile supporters like conservationist Lee Durrell, zoologist Mark Carwardine, and Emmy-nominated composer and singer-songwriter Sarah Class.
Two years on from the release of HUMAN. :||: NATURE. and the creation of the Nightwish Reserve, WLT CEO Catherine Barnard met up with band members Tuomas Holopainen, Troy Donockley and Floor Jansen on the UK leg of their ongoing world tour. In the following conversation with Catherine, our new Ambassadors speak about why they support WLT, the influence of nature on their work, and how music can inspire us to protect the natural world.

World Land Trust (WLT) pioneered the Buy an Acre concept of buying land for conservation, starting in 1989, and has, since then, funded ground-breaking habitat protection for more than 30 years, with an impressive track record of achievements.
World Land Trust and its overseas project partners have been instrumental in the purchase and protection of more than 881,000 acres of tropical forest and other threatened habitats, and together ensure that more than four million acres of land is managed under active protection worldwide. Here is a summary of just a few of the Trust’s major activities and achievements.
Great Musicians .....Better People
I love the mutual respect between Nightwish and the 'science world', which includes nature of course.
Bravo to WLT for what you are endeavoring to preserve and have flourish and also for a group like Nightwish to share those ideals and create music about them.
Tuomas has always been a savior on my opinion. And love that they found a transparent program to join in. NW army Finnish Jaeger battalion approves. Lol.
....what an AWESOME People...😍
Thank you for joining forces, a force that we all must join!
”I love not Nature the less, but Nightwish more”
Because, are there better
Ambassadors of Nature than the members of Nightwish Band.
I have a lot of respect for the work they do for Nature. 🤘🫶
Ha! I see what you did there.
Thank you for working for our planet. If there is even the smallest thing to do for our planet it’s still worth to take the act.
The first minute in you had my vote.
😊🇫🇮💙🪄🎼✨💯👍

Awesome - well done everyone involved in NW and WLT. And David Attenborough, for being an inspiration!
Amazing band… amazing trust!❤
Aside from the amazing compositions, musicians, and floors windmills--this support and passion for the natural world is what keeps this band in my head and my heart.
So amazing to have a band with your power and scope using that platform for good. Keep going, we’re with you!
THANK YOU
This is why it's an honor to follow you guys. You are a wonderful band, with powerful messages, but above all, you're kind and compassionate. Kudos to WLT for your work in keeping this Earth healthy and thriving.

for me its hard to hear what someone says when there is music mixed over the audio. I kindly request this World Land Trust RUclips team not to have text and music together. An expert told me it was probably around 15% of all people that couldnt filter the sound. If you dont believe me your YT team can just ask some random people to listen to your channel and ask what they think; apparently 15% will immediately stop after half a minute saying 'sorry i cant hear with that mixed sound'. Its a neuroligocal thing. Or if people listen to this on their phone with old earplugs it might be a technical thing. Or another reason common among musicians: is they could neuroligically filter it but only after extra straining their focus because the music for them is never background it is always perceived in the front and as a background noise in the distance you hear the band talk. So i have one ear not able to filter (also not in a bar dont talk into that ear) and one ear if i put the earphone only in that ear i can after a few times listening with a lot of strain sort of hear what they say. But the music doesnt add anything to the sphere it only ruins the interview for at least 15% of us or more.
