I just made this recipe, and it is one of the best I've ever tried! The people making comments about it spoiling and just being rude to this wonderful creator, she is just teaching a simple butter. If you think you can do better, go do it!!!
Hi there. Can you tell me if you used all the exact same ingredients she did in her recipe? I tried making a small batch just to test out (not to be shelf stable or anything like that) so I did not add the preservative to her homemade aloe vera gel since I don't have any preservatives, but I used the same other ingredients. After adding the aloe and whisking it into the butter it became very stiff and hard. Do you know what I might have done wrong? I was really hoping to be able to use home made aloe gel and my block of shea butter.
How come I used all your exact ingredients and measurements and itself of it coming out as a lotion it came out like a body butter, what could have gone wrong. This is why I don't make lotions
I do fresh aloe. Blend it. Boil it with jojoba oil. Strain it. Double boil Shea and cocoa. Combine. Whip for a Half hour. In the freezer for a little bit and that’s it
Hi new subscriber here. Wow such simple ingredients, I love THIS! I'm going to do this as a face cream of course I gotta do a couple of batch tests first. But I absolutely love shea butter and aloe vera gel for the face. 😍Also guys, the ones concerned about the product spoiling or whatever, the natural vitamin E is an anti-oxidant that prevents products from going rancid or spoiling. Also store bought aloe vera gel already has a preservative in it, or at least it should, check for ingredient on the container such as phenoxyethanol or any other preservative name. The product lasts as long as your shortest raw ingredient shelf life does. Me personally I would label 6 mos from use.
Preservatives usage is calculated to the formula and weight, with different PH coverage and temperature limitations. so store bought Aloe Vera gel contains preservatives designed only to that particular product, not to any new formulas you plan to use with the gel. The particular vitamin E used in skincare to extend shelf life is vitamin E T-50, INCI name Tocopherol. There are different types of vitamin E, better check the ingredients or inci labels.
Just LOVE IT! Cecil you rock!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly you have the gift to combine simple things and make them gorgeous natural cosmetics! Thank you very much!
I learned that whipping shea butter lightens the color which I did not know before. I did not use this recipe but experimented and used my own version. I added a small amount of oil after whipping the butter. I used kokum butter and shea.
I'll take take the shea butter from Ghana everytime. thats the TRUE enriched butter for MY type of skin. if the other works better for you thats great. to each HIS/HER OWN!!!
LOVELY presentation, thank you for NO TALKING, nice music and just print to read onscreen, very pleasant. For me, these two items do not moisture enough, even if put on hot wet skin, some oil needs to b added, but not much.
Beautiful video. My concern is that the use of aloe gel necessitates a preservative for safety; unless the batch will be all used up in a few days, microbe growth definitely will occur.
@@prettybrwneyez7757 Microbe growth still happens in the refrigerator and in the freezer. Ever seen mold in a forgotten item on a back fridge shelf? Yep.
This looks like an amazing recipe. I’ve been looking for an excuse to use some of my aloe plant which has grown quite a bit since I started growing it.
I'm a Ghanaian and I sell Shea Butter. My Shea Butter is so smooth and soft like the Uganda one. Not all Ghanaian Shea Butter is hard, in fact the hard one is not original. I just had to clarify. Thanks
I found a whole new channel...I admire everything you put out. Your content is rich and inspiring . I love the simplicity and straightforwardness of it all. You truly rock girl.
I used aloe in one of my batches but found it holds a lot of water. Worried it would create bacteria, so I didn’t use again. I infuse my with glycerin.
Hi Cecil thank you . The funniest thing I was just abot to make some body body butter for myself and I saw this tutorial, I am going to try it this way
@Claire Edwards, thank you for watching the video.. I am been using the blend with my family for quite sometime now, and we love it.. Will appreciate if I get feedback from you😊
Beautiful recipe! thank you. This is a no-melt recipe. my question is what is the maximum outside temperature that it can tolerate during shipping? 27 or above?
Cecil, I keep telling you, it's time to team up with Rhianna :-) All jokes aside, you and the content you share here are outstanding. I am not saying this just to give a review. I am saying it because I have used and benefited from several of your recipes. Your products are of great quality and I will continue to purchase them. Some things I do make the attempt to try and create but there are so many, I would rather save for you the expert to create and sell. Thank you for all your exceptional work. Blessings always to you and your family.
I’m concerned that with Aloe being 99% water the product can become moldy, so I will add vitamin e oil to extend the shelf like and protect the product from becoming rancid.
Heey! One question, all the aloe gels i have been researching contain other ingredients, like, preservatives and other stuff. Is it okay that the gel is not just pure Aloe? Or it's better to just buy the plant and take the gel from it? :)) Thank You !
Cecil, your page is a blessing. Thank you for all this 🙏🏽 May you please recommend something for chronically dehydrated/dry skin. I would apply moisturiser on my skin then 2hrs later I’m dry again Please.
I wish I would have found this video when I tried my first batch though it’s moisturizing it’s so oily and thick I’m like lord I know I messed up 😂 but imma use it up my kids enjoy it I know you stated this was good for the summer I live in Illinois and right now it’s dry and cold on top of my health issues my skin is going through it can this be used during the winter months as well or should I add something to it
Hello, your bodybutter with aloe vera gel looks great. How long does this body butter last because of the aloe vera gel? Do I have to keep it in the fridge because of the aloe vera? And how do you DIY the aloe vera gel? Thank you very much in advance for your reply.
Could you add vegetable glycerin to this.? I’ve made a butter with aloe and noticed it started to sweat in the container. Could glycerin or a preservative help?

If you do not use a preservative, your recipe will spoil it will not be shelfstable. Any formulator knows that!

Boil the gel inside or boil the whole plant?
Try not to melt the shea butter which is already soft and add only the oils and mix it will be amazing nice consistency and smooth as well FYI

Glad to learn that about Ugandan Shea butter with no smell! I never use products with Shea butter because I can’t stand the smell!
Ugandan shea butter has a strong nutty smell. Am Ugandan and I use it.

Kokum butter is fantastic. I can’t say enough about it. I also use fresh aloe vera and cactus.

Is the Kokum butter another name for Ugandan Shea or are they 2 separate things?

Hi,
I have a few questions. Does the butter stay that smooth/creamy consistency? If so, for how long?
what about shipping will it melt then or is the aloe vera a factor that will help it from not melting during transit?
What’s the highest temperature that this butter will not melt
Would you keep it in the fridge?
Or is it more like a lotion?
