maybe you could make a drop down organizer for the ceiling ,it would take some effort but over all be worth it. Iade one using some hydraulic replacements for a car trunk and some hinges from Lowes, size shape and style is all customizable to preference and I'm sure you would do a good job of making it look nice
Woah buddy, looks like you were close to getting your finger on the router on that second pass! Not sure I'd ever put my dirty shoes on display. This reminds me of some display cases you might see in a museum. Could be a good idea for showing off some art work for kids (or adults I guess).

Great work ! In UK we have great idea of Men’s Shed where you can meet and exchange ideas/expertise on wide range of DIY topics and the Shed has a range of Power tools etc that members can use to build projects such as this. I am sure other countries have similar workshops,co-operatives,Repair shops for people who don’t have room or don’t want to invest in expensive tools that may only get very occasional use.

excellent build very well done since the sticky back on LEDs does not like to stay stuck I would suggest hot glue to help it stay stuck or maybe even aluminum defuse strips they really even out the light and prevent led spots and droop

Great video. I think I would have assembled three sides of each frame, apply my finish, and THEN attach the plexiglas. Considering you said this was a prototype, I'm sure you will do that on the next one. Keep up the great work!

This turned out great, I love it! Also, it's funny how people collect just about anything. lol, not that I'm one to talk, as I collect lots of things. Just never realized guys were so into things like shoes, or flashlights, etc...
Are you able to make this and sell it on etsy. i want this i would be your first customer. my grandpa died last month and i have his shoes which i specifically asked to keep. he always wore it all the time and i bought it for him when i was 10. im in my mid 20s now and ive been looking for a shoebox but nothing i looked up was good and i found your video very inspiring but i dont have any of the tools to make it :/

Pick up an Outwater catalog. You can get plenty of inspiration from there. Plus, I prefer using aluminum extrusions for my display case work now anyway. So do my clients. But if you do it right, you can make something to sell to clients and end up with some cool left over materials to make personal projects.
Waiting on the upgraded version...thinking about using your idea to make a display for some signed sports items...
