Keep the car indoors or in the shade if u can. This will stop most of the dry rotting. Wash the car more often during winter because of salt on the road. If u drive regularly u will need new tires in 2 3 years anyway so dry rotting wont be a problem
I agree. Just to put my $.02.......... NEVER use Mavis or previously known as STS tires. They told me they could take my appointment for 4 replacement tires over the phone. Even took all my info over the phone and said everything would be ready when I arrived at 4pm. Then when I showed up 15 minutes early the manager told me they couldn't take my appointment and that my job would take 2 hours and that they closed at 5pm. I was furious. So I crossed the street to Goodyear and they installed all 4 of my tires in 45 minutes. Problem solved. Also unrelated, Pep Boys is the WORST place to have ANYTHING done to your vehicle. BEWARE. They have teenagers making major adjustments to your $50,000 car and they don't care. I went there to get a battery replacement and saw 3 "technicians" stare at my car for an hour wondering what to do.
'Age of the tyre'.... maybe, but surely not the case with my 3 year old 95% plus motorway driven tyres, cracks there too. I live in a place where it rains a lot, sun is quite an exception here, so no dried rubber because of UV. Trying to contact the manufacturer, but they're not replying.
