    Magnus must be worried that his nemesis could defeat him again, as unlikely as that may be it is a distinct possibility. What then would his excuse be? It would reflect negatively on his prior claims about fair play and produce an even greater blow to his character and ego. His ego is starting to get in his way professionally, as it does with most of the greatest players eventually.

      Hans cheated in over 100 games in online tournaments and otb when he was younger. Why play a cheater that stands EVERYTHING to gain and nothing to lose?? Magnus has soooo much more to lose to a known and self admitted cheater. Bobby fischer would've had a field day with hans. It's smart for players with careers to not risk their livelihood playing against a known and self admitted cheater. Again Magnus has nothing to gain but hans stands to gain everything. It's only logical. Hans can be upsetty spaghetti and destroy more hotel rooms like he did.

    Clearly Magnus is sending a message to tour organizers: I will not play Hans Niemann.
    This forces tournament organizers to choose between Magnus and Hans. All tournament organizers will choose Magnus as he’s a bigger draw. So Magnus is indirectly blacklisting Hans.
    Why? It’s pretty obvious, but you can decide for yourselves.

    No, good Robert, you do not present understanding og Magnus, because the problem is the the demonstration of lack of good sportsmanship, fairness, from Magnus Carlson. He had the chance to show some good carater but decided not to - of course he might have been ill, but then he should have said that.

    Magnus was a bit off his game so he might have simply felt that he wasn't the best player for his team on the day.

    I really don't know why can't You understand WHY Magnus doesn't play agains the cheater? Because Magnus despises him! And niemann is not in the same league as Magnus. Nobody is.
    And the future Champion is probably coming from India, at least 3 top young players are en pair with niemann.

    • @scottekoontz
      @scottekoontz Месяц назад +1

      So any player who despises Magnus can refuse to play him? NEAT! There are a couple of IMs who beat Magnus recently, so maybe they are in his league?
      Hilarious when Magnus cried and cried when Hans beat him OTB. Sure, Hans must have cheated with his incredible engineering skills. So easy to do that all players, I mean some... OK only one player is capable of cheating OTB.

      @@scottekoontz You haven't read my commetc carefully. It's not other player that despise Magnus, It's Magnus that despised them (not too many opponents though).
      You probably don't understand chess beyond the superficial amateur level, that's probably why You don't appreciate Magnus's greatness.He lost some funny games against many different opponents online in rapid and blitz (not really important tournaments, not harming his reputation as the GOAT in any regard), but not many in classical chess over the board especially when it mattered the most (big tournaments, championships..).
      And for a Young player it's an honour and an apportunity to play against the GOAT.
      And let me add one more small remark: Niemann will never be a world champion, so many young Indians are coming, younger, hungrier, psychologically more stable than poor Hans. If he is the best that the USA can offer, You are in trouble chesswise as a nation.

    I personally understand and support Magnus' position on Niemann. He has played enough against him to know his true strength and then, all of a sudden, either on line or over the board, Hans plays like a computer, beating the world's elite (e.g. Carlsen, Aronian, MVL) like it was child's play. And then, at other times, he blunders horrifically or plays extremely badly. There is something very fishy about this player who has admitted cheating online and therefore should have been banned from all events anyway. It's an insult for top players to be paired against him or even to be invited to an event where Hans is playing.

    • @scottekoontz
      @scottekoontz Месяц назад

      Absolutely nothing fishy or odd about Hans games. If you were to track players and not know the player names, you would never be able to pick out Hans. I can say the exact same thing about any other GM, especially lately as a few super GMs lose to IMs. No possible way you could pick out the players.
      Player A has played like a computer, beating the world's elite, then lost to a much lower rated player and even some IMs. But oops, it isn;t Hans I am writing about. Very fishy according to you, and you think they cheated... except you do NOT think these other players are cheating.
      Darn facts and statistics, getting in the way of gut feelings.

      @@scottekoontzhans cheated in over 100 online money tournaments. Stop with your glazing and riding your boy. Gonna get chaffed riding that hard. And the kid is absolutely fishy. Can't even explain the ideas behind his OWN MOVES...why?? Bc they weren't his..it was clear he didn't know or understand the idea behind it bc a computer thought of it..not him. It's absolutely suspicious when you can't even tell the world why you played a move, the idea and strategy behind it, and what the intention of said move was. A computer played it..not him. Keep defending your boy lmaooo. I'm going to safely assume you like to cheat at stuff too.

    Why it seems he knows it is still possible to cheat over the board despite safety measures. Maybe he knows something we don't know about cheating. So who are the real cheaters among grandmasters especially those who have doubts on his fellow players? It seems they know what we don't know about cheating.

    Thanks for covering the Teams Tournament, Robert, but the title is some kind of a clickbait,
    nothing special about Magnus not playing at 1st board, maybe he wanted to avoid a confrontation, but it is no "DRAMA"...
    I remember Hans was playing Magnus blitz online and Magnus avoided confrontation, by choosing a boring draw
    and Hans said "someone is afraid"... 🙂

Hans cheated in over 100 online cash prize tournaments in 2020, and admitted to cheating over the board when he was younger. Magnus and other players stand to lose their careers and reputation for playing and losing to a known cheater. What does magnus or ANYONE for that matter get for beating hans?? NOTHING. Hans stands to gain everything from winning, meanwhile anyone who faces him stands to lose EVERYTHING. It's a no brainer, why play a cheater??
