  • We live in the far Eastern portion of Portugal's Algarve. We fly direct from Faro airport to Europe locations that we want to visit in Europe whenever we can because Faro airport is close to home. Flights leaving from Lisbon take us an extra 6 hours train time to get there and sometimes it requires an overnight stay at a hotel.
We have a bucket list of cities that we want to visit. High on that list were both Budapest Hungary and Vienna Austria. Since they are only 250 km from each other, we decided to combine both cities in one trip and take a train back and forth.
This visit to Budapest began with a direct flight on RyanAir from Faro, Portugal to Vienna, Austria. After landing at Vienna airport, we took a taxi to Hauptbahnhof train station to board a high-speed train to Keleti station in Budapest. Upon arrival, we purchased 72 hour Metro passes in Budapest for unlimited public transport throughout the city.
This video focuses primarily on the sites and activities that we experienced in Budapest. A separate video on our channel covers the Vienna portion of our visit. We hope you enjoy our presentation style and our experiences in these cities.

There are direct buses from Vienna airport to Budapest every 30 minutes costs around 20 Euros riding time is less than 3 hours. You lost money and time for taxi and train.
