I was recently diagnosed with lgmd. I am 56. I can walk 3 miles. I have weakness in upper legs, hips, upper arms, ankles and hands. I also have pain in my legs. Especially if I overdo. Maybe I need to stretch more. What age did you get diagnosed and how old are you now.? I take supplements for my muscles and refused the prednisone my dr was pushing. I said “ no way”.
Good for you declining prednisone as that tends to break down muscles more. Did they give you an exact diagnosis? I was 17 when diagnosed. I started seeing signs 5 years prior. I’m 44 and still moving around albeit not as good as years past. Stretching does make a difference in my opinion. So if you’re not doing them I highly recommend starting. I think Vit D3 is a good one as your vit D level may be low. I think it’s important to stay active but definitely don’t overdo it. This can be hard to follow but it’s necessary to not do further damage.
@@JohnGraybill thank you for your reply I have had symptoms for years but Drs would not listen. I had a muscle biopsy and tests by a neurologist that finally listened. I will have to make myself take time to stretch more. I knew I had to, your video” kicked me in my butt” to do it! Thank you. I WAS an occupational therapist but struggled due to my weaknesses. We have 7 kids, 3 still at home ( adopted 4) They actually keep me going and moving. I feel very blessed in many ways. I am glad I finally got answers. I eat organic and only do holistic treatments 😊
Hello. Do you have any instagram account? I shared your channel with my friends who have muscular dystrophy as well. But RUclips is filtered in Iran. So some people can't access to your channel.
Hello. I do not have an Instagram account. The only social media platform I use is RUclips. Thank you however for sharing these videos. I greatly appreciate that!
hey john sir i really want to... do u also feel difficulty while lifting ur hands or ur hand muscles are perfectly finee thnks for posting ur stretches exercise video
Hello. I do have difficulty lifting my hands up especially to feed myself. I use the other arm to help me lift things. With both arms working together I’m able to do more than if only one arm was doing it.
@@bhawnajindal3717 there are no medications to take for lgmd unless you’re talking about supplements. I did but currently don’t take supplements. I’m trying to see how my body responds without having the supplements. If in the future there is a drug that helps us, I’ll consider it.
Sir plz.show me arm exersises which you do
I'm sorry but the stretches you see in the video are the only ones I do. I don't have any for arms.
@@JohnGraybill ok sir but why you not use thyra band for exersises it is very useful for arms I also use, it relaxes my arm muscles
