They’ve known for over a year where this trial was going to take place. If the venue was such a problem for them, why would they wait for the last second to ask for a change of venue? They clearly can’t be THAT concerned if they chose to use it as an eleventh-hour attempt to delay the trial instead of bringing it up months and months ago.

I was a jury contender for a rape trial a few years ago. We were all warned not to research the trial or post anything on social media. The next day, we were all called in for further questioning. One juror was called to the judge and told off for posting on Facebook. That was 9 years ago, St. Louis City.

5:20 the reason why you get jurors from the local area is because they are part of the community who was potentially harmed. If you don't want a jury from a certain area then don't commit a crime in that area.
Investigating potential jurors is just crazy. People are already reluctant to participate in jury duty being subjected to invasive investigation will only add to the fact the issues.

From my experience as a juror - the only question that matters is “Do you think that you can be fair and impartial?” Yes or no? All the other questions are just trying to game the jurors in the hope that you will be able to feel that you have more leaning in favour of one or the other side - which is obviously not an “fair and impartial” situation. Once empaneled and given an explanation of the case, the legal question or questions that need to be decided, the evidentially facts as presented by each side and their witnesses, the summaries and the judges instructions on the legal questions and the laws applicable to them, juries take it all very seriously and truly do just weigh the evidence against the question and the law without reference to anything about the defendant personally. Juries make their decisions that way and no matter who the defendant is or what their attributes - what the jury decides will then apply. In that sense justice truly is Lind. It comes down to evidence and the law with no consideration the person when determining guilt. Those factors may come into play if the jury is asked for any recommendations for sentencing but not at all for the determination of guilt or innocence.
In this case, to get a fair and impartial jury they may need to travel as far as outer Mongolia, or Iceland. Icelanders are pretty smart and fair.
A group of jurors are a unique group of people. What is hard to flush out during jury selection are individuals with dominating personalities, and during deliberation it becomes their way, or no way. Such individuals will bully, intimidate, and ignore any jurors they personally dislike, or simply refuse to have a rational discussion of the evidence. Another example are individuals that are good at politics, debating, and\or selling their ideas, even when the evidence does not support their argument; they love convincing others to their way of thinking. Results becomes a hung jury for that group of jurors.
If Trump was innocent, he would let this trial run.

I think it's fair to the citizens of the area that the crime was committed in should be able to comprise the jury. It is their right as citizens of that area to see justice done. If he did not want to be tried by a jury of his peers in Manhattan, he should not have commited crimes with a company that was based there.
