Indicator are quickly becoming one of my favourite labels, specifically because their sales are excellent. I tend to buy some of the box sets on release, but then wait for the standard releases in the 3 for £15 sales!

Because their releases are the best quality ever, I've given Indicator thousands of my dollars over the years. I practically own everything they've put out. I blame you for getting me to place two orders in this sale. I'm most excited about ordering Geronimo, and I decided to pick up A Soldier's Story, among others😊.
Massively depleted my bank balance with an 18 title Hammer haul. Got all the standards from the first 4 sets plus the Creatures & Robin Hood boxes. As usual, I blame you, Spencer! 😂

You can’t go wrong with any of their Hammer releases. Absolutely disc for disc the finest treatment of a single studio’s output. And that’s even with them having to use a mix of studio masters and new scans.
Wanted to mention that the standard release of FORCE 10 does NOT include the longer cut. That is only in the Limited Edition set. I have both
Oh I didn’t realize that. I guess it makes sense then that they would have to drop the extended version for the standard release.
@@DamnFoolIdealisticCrusader Yeah, I found out when I bought the standard version to put in the empty LE box with the book (purchased from the accessories tab on the Indicator site). I was going to cobble together my own LE box that way.

A great defence of Indicator, who, as far as I'm concerned, are streets ahead of the competition.
I picked up the Sternberg/Dietrich films in standard format in this sale. I have the OOP box and booklet so I can cobble together the box set now
As it seems with many others here, your recommendations convinced me to go back for a second order and grab those Mae West and Robin Hood box sets. I can’t pass those up! Thank you for the fantastic overview and recommendations as always!
Well. I went with The Swimmer, even though I have the UK DVD Sony disc. The Swimmer was going for the crazy price of £10.99 on the site. My guess is that many people bailed out buying the film via Indicator because a certain documentary was not forthcoming, but The Grindhouse release in the States had the lorded documentary. No wonder the set was going for near to nothing, but I bagged a copy. I also went with Bartleby LE. I like actor Paul Scofield, so that made sense to me. I haven't seen the film in years. I also bagged a copy of Pemini Organisation box set.
I have the Pemini Organisation set. It is absolutely superb and I think a very much underrated and overlooked title. The book is brilliant and as for the films, they are all good but Assassin is just remarkable. If you read the book and watch the extras you will wonder how on Earth the film was even completed. Verna Harvey is in this and would also star alongside Marlon Brando and Thora Hird (yes THE Thora Hird!) in X Rated (yes, an X Rated Thora Hird film) dairyfiesta The Nightcomers!
@Bonnet de Douche The Pemini Organisation has two films which I've seen, Moments and Hunted. I liked both Moments and Hunted, but I've never seen Assassin, so it's time to delve into the world of Pemini again. Indicator do incredible work on these sets, even on films I cannot stand. Sometimes the supplemental material far outweighs the average film that's being discussed in the booklets and extras. Scum was a brilliant release, but I've been shocked at how long it took for Scum:LE to sell out. The films controversial tone and subtext don't sit pretty with the younger generations of today. I do like The Nightcomers as a film. Seen it a few times, and have it on Network DVD.
I decided to try the Pemini set too in my order. I’ve never seen the films but it looks like an incredible amount of effort put in.
I had forgotten about the documentary but other than that the Indicator release is better put together as a disc release and I’m a big fan of the LE boxes anyway. Not to mention how incredibly cheap it is!

@@DamnFoolIdealisticCrusader nice one. I think you'll enjoy the Pemini set. Especially as you learn more about what went in to the restorations. It's a shame that Hunted has missing moments that are filled in with SD footage, and that the Hunted intro they filmed in Scotland is lost forever but nicely recreated just for this release. June Ritchie is excellent in it, you may spot her in a well-known TV series called Tales Of The Unexpected too as she stars in a safecracker episode. That's on Network DVD.
Assassin is the highlight for me. Great turns by the cast, especially as aforementioned when you learn about what the cast and crew went through just to get the thing finished (alas thanks to some demons one of the cast was battling with that would ultimately claim his life not long after). Looking forward to your review of this set to see what your thoughts are on the films!

I do want to point out that The Last Detail was recently released on 4KUHD by Shout Select. I do believe it's the same master, and there is certainly some debate as to whether or not the Shout UHD is actually worth upgrading to, but I felt people should know. If I didn't already own the excellent Indicator Standard Blu, I'd probably go for the shout as the transfer and audio/video are always priority for me. Based on looking at caps for myself.. I do think the Shout takes the lead for a more natural color space.

I'm really banking on being able to grab a lot of the recently announced blu-ray box sets and 4K limited editions in the (hopeful) Fall sale! I really want some of those titles, but I can't afford them at full price...

I also got the Robin Hood LE after seeing your review. Mainly for Robin Hood Junior which I didn't know was on that disc.
Almost got the John Ford box but the EU shipping was too much. Maybe another day. Indicator and Network are two of my favourite labels.

Thank you for the in-depth recommendations. You keep refering to a £200 free shipping threshold but even with that amount in my cart I am still getting charged shipping. Is this for the U.S. only or has the threshold changed? I'm based in Australia.
Edit: the limit appears to be £250. That's a lot of blurays @ £4 per title.

Other than Force 10 and Varrick, are there other examples of other labels getting the better prints?
Those are the two main ones I can think of but I know there’s a few others.

I was thinking of getting Creatures the World Forgot as well. Never seen it but its super cheap and looks like a solid release!

Well, I was right - completely blew past a reasonable number (hope my wife just rolls her eyes as opposed to ripping out my spine...). Don't have any Indivator titles and your enthusiasm certainly swayed me. Huge Criterion collector since the LD days, but their more recent output has been (generally) less enticing to me, so this might get interesting. Not that I need label monogomy, I guess.
Greetings from Santiago de Chile. May I ask you a question? A dear friend of my is going for some weeks to the UK -London to be precise- and asked me if I want some movies. Here in Chile we are Region A so I have no problems in watching movies in 4K. I even have some european titles, but unfortunately in my country they too expensive. I check the HMV page and found many titles I want in 4K and I discovered that they have some copies of "Robin Hood at Hammer". My doubt is... I have 2 sony players, one is 4K and the other one blu-ray. I heard that if you press number 2 at the keyboard you could turn it to Region B? Do you know if that is true or just an urban legend? I would really love to know you're opinion about it. Adiós amigo.
Surprisingly a lot of UHD players are region free with button codes. I’ve heard some Sony players are supposed to be able to do it. I’ve had success with my Panasonic UHD player on every Indicator disc so far.
@@DamnFoolIdealisticCrusader Thank you for the advise. I have some Blu-ray Region B in my humble collection. Fingers cross that my equipment could read them. I recently bought the "Ennio Morricone" documentary directed by Guissepe Tornatore, and I haven't had the time to check the extras that come in Blu-ray, the main feature comes in 4K and trust me. It sounds and looks AWESOME.
You're making me think I should go to the well for a third time, my wallet is hurting already. It would have been quicker to just mention the titles you wouldn't pick up! lol Speaking of Hammer pirate movies, I have a spare copy of Network's The Devil-Ship Pirates blu-ray if that is of any interest to you?
