Unusual Submission Finish If Your Guillotine Choke Fails in BJJ

  • Inside the gym recently I've been using the Guillotine Choke. Well, as you can imagine my partners have gotten better at defending it which then has forced me to figure out more options. This is the natural evolution of most of our moves in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
So in today's BJJ technique video I show a sneaky submission you can use if the Guillotine Choke fails and the person rolls out of the choke. This is a common counter to the move so if you use the Guillotine Choke already you're probably familiar with it.
Pay close attention to the hand grips as well as the way the head blocks the grip from being used.
I hope this helps you with your Brazilian Jiujitsu rolling or competitions in the future.

Hey Chewy, I had my first competition last weekend and your videos on mentally preparing really helped me stay calm. I went 5-0 and took gold! Thanks so much!

Thank you for your great videos! I am wondering if you have suggestions of how to modify guard or closed guard if you have a sensitive knee? (Old horseback riding injury left my knee weak) I can't keep my guard closed because the pressure placed on my leg by my partner trying to escape causes extreme pain in my knee. Thank you.

Never seen it. So call it whatever works for you. Bjj practitioners have a tendency of getting to the same place.

How do I stop my opponent from standing up while I got him in a triangle choke? And I don't mean stacking and passing the guard, I mean literally standing up and walking away.
