When he runs short of money, a newspaper reporter pawns a police revolver he was given after he helped the police solve a case. Later on the gun is used in a murder, and the reporter is suspected of committing the crime!
Love that Monagram logo opening sequence.
Love the movie, so much better than the crap on tv today in June 2022.
You said it all!
Good movie! Here's another good'n: Robert Armstrong - Oh, Yeah? - 1929
very intesting story line. very fun to watch
Art Deco, a penchant of mine that is especially gratifying when seeing it introducing this film, the Art Director being E.R.Hickson, who was a very talented man with a very interesting film life-history. I am hoping to find the film "Murder in the Stratosphere" or "Lost in the Stratosphere" to see what Hickson does with that film
Thankyou for making this film available.
What a sweet film. ❤️
Another winner pizza man. Just enough suspense to keep the plot moving and a good old fashioned happy ending.
Vey entertaining!
That was a really cute movie! I love all of the witty lines. Thank you for posting.
Always great to see Robert Armstrong in anything. This is more of a rom-com than a detective movie, but still very fun to watch, with great chemistry between the two leads. My sole complaint is that the plot hinges on the police publishing the serial number of the gun in the papers, otherwise the pawnbroker would have no way of knowing that the gun Doyle sold him was the one used in the robbery. I can't imagine why they would do that.
May I suggest that they did that to move the plot along.
@@MissFortune-mk6gn They could have come up with a less contrived way of doing it. Maybe the police published a picture of the gun in the paper, or a description of it, and it had some distinctive feature, like pearl handles or something, and the pawnbroker recognized it. I could buy that.
Excellent quality, great volume...
Just here at the beginning inspired to comment: Funny tease with the way they are handling that gun around.
🎬The art deco intro to this movie fascinates me for its creative and imaginative display.🎥
Indeed, that art deco was very bold and unique.
Wasn't Maxine Doyle(who played Anne ) a sweet girl?
She acted as vivid as her own story.
She was singing on radio station KYA in San Francisco, California around 1928. A contemporary newspaper article described her as "the sweetheart of KYA".
She died young at her age of 58.
Very interesting.
Very Good Move, kept my head interest! I've always liked Mr.Armstrong, especially in"King Kong"w Fay Wray!! This Was first time I saw Ms.Doyle in a movie.Thanks,PizzaFlix4 Sharing such an entertaining film!!
Thank you for watching. We are now also on Roku!
Second time watching and I enjoyed it again.
simple .. lots of angles.. not dark for such an old flick..good job..and stole the money with no mask on or makeup.. neato..
The average pay rate in 1935 was 50 cents an hour.
Fifty bucks must have seemed like a small fortune.
Great print! I liked the two leads (Robert Armstrong of KING KONG fame, and Maxine Doyle).

Who is the manager of the hotel? I have seen him in a lot of movies but don't know his name.
Dell Henderson played Mr. Clark, the Hotel Manager ( www.imdb.com/name/nm0376396/ ).
고전찬미 감사합니다
Females only should shake hands wearing gloves...No hate, just sayin'.
I always thought Pat O'Brien and Robert Armstrong looked and sounded alike.
