- In this tutorial, we'll recreate the floating cloth scene from the X-Particles reel.
Techniques we'll work through include:
Using the xpCloth solver to create a dynamic cloth simulation.
Creating multiple cloth objects using only one cloth deformer.
Art directing our scene objects using X-Particles modifiers.
Creating dust particles with custom colour values.
This video was recorded on a computer with the following specs: Processor: i7-7820X CPU @ 3.60GHz, 8 Core Graphics Card: 2 x Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080Ti RAM: 64.0 GB

Every company should make tutorials like this, can't wait for part 2
For the People that tried to cache this technique with the connector, if you put the xpClothDeformer as a child of the connector, you will be able to cache it and everything works fine! ;)
Have a good day! I love this amazing plugin!
Jesus Christ, that's why I sucked so hard today. THANKS!
aaaaaaaa, you saved me from the burnout! I have spent quite some time to figure out how to cache it! Thank you for this comment!
I love it when Bob says a punctuated "...good"
Great tutorials. Loving these guys, please keep it up.
Good!
Srsly the way you explain your move is so good!
You explain why, you anticipate issues, it's so clear. I love it.
i love INSYDIUM
respectable company
Can't thank you enough for tutorials! Project based learning is the best!
The shortcut at 14'04 is ctrl+alt and click on the connect object ;).
Great - thanks!
this one of the best paced, easy to follow along tutorial on youtube. thanks!
Very cool, thanks! Especially about Mograph Weight Paint Brush >.
An other amazing tutorial, thank you Bob and Mario!
Amazing as always
love the technical expressions haha
Awesome tutorial! Thanks!
Awesome!
great tut! thanks!
Hello and thank you =) Great tutorial. But i don't understand the point of the converting planes to the mesh and the using connect after. You can just use connect object on your cloner object instead, and result will be the same =)) even better because you are staying procedural and undestructive.
amazing bob
Love this tutorials. Could you please advise me when I use multiple cloths they are intersecting each other. How to avoid intersecting, thank you.

awesome ;) Thanks for that!
Very interesting. If we want the cloth follow a spline, shall we use the xpfollowspline modifier ? (I tried it without success)

Thanks for the amazing tutorial! Where can we learn more about X-Particles cloth simulation? :)
Bob, you are awesome
Also, if i turn off the connect object my viewport becomes crowded with a countless amounts of cloth with a different texture map.
Hi Bob, my cloth is always floating away. There is no gravity and no wind. What can I do? I want it to have like in the tutorial.
Love it! But I wonder how to render it.
dear Insydium, i have hart time to figure out how xPin should work. i am new to x particles, but dont find any easy tutorial for this, expect the lester banks 2 seconds one... maybe you can help! thanks
Having problems with xpin as well. How do you pin more than one cloth?
Thanks for the tutorial! Quick question here. I've noticed that when enabling an strange attractor the turbulence modifier stops working, is that right? I noticed this same issue with some others modifiers as well.
Anyone had a problem with rendering? Everything is displayed in the viewport, takes time to calculate position and so on, but when rendering just have planes.
So, what worked for me is creating the clones first, then connecting them, and only then adding the xp clothFX to the connect obj. Not sure of why the order confuses c4d, but before it didnt render anything.
Good luck!
Is this also possible within Blender?
thanks bob~ ღ( ´・ᴗ・` )
Anyone got any ideas how to avoid intersections between the planes when using this technique?? Can't for the life of me figure this one out. Bob sort of skips over it a little bit when he zooms in.
Hi Mark, we can't answer these sorts of questions on social media.
However, we have a Discord Channel & Community Forum which are both perfect for these types of questions.
