I can see why alot of people would be confused in different ways about both but I think in a good way. They are not just something many people do. It's your own creations and that is what's so very cool about them. Doing a great job man 👍 keep up the awesome work.
It is possible to move the arch in the fender if you do a little more tweaking, if you really wanted that wheel to line up in there. Wish I could help you! I love this thing! :)
Greetings from Southwest Texas you are the modern day home garage Barris you got some good metal skills with a good eye to make everything line up. Great content keep it coming.
I love what you are doing, not following the herd and building what everybody else does. The oddity of the bug and the Miata build is why im here, cant decide how i want to build my Opel ratnest rod
Been a while since I've seen this thing. Always funny listening to people at car shows. The wings don't look overly big to me, all seems to match up well.
Yes hell it all looks kick ass e cept the front finders look smashed . But thts my opion its your ride Ride it sideways ifvyu like. Hell put a rolls royal front cap on it and see watt they say then
Ballanced crank and csm roller rocker 5 speed ina ford mustang 2 hatch back with sun roof and 2.5 in exhaust str8 out the back just tht close to street legal
Theres a monster miaota somewhere out there its got s 454 4barrel boRed 40 over with a 5 speed and a custom t- bird rear end but i have no idea where it is and my cuz' put a 350 bored 30 over witb growler beast cam ballanced r
I think you have a winner with the wide fenders, it gives it a Porsche kinda stance. You will need some "WIDE LOAD" stickers in the back. 😂 Tail lights from the last gen of original bugs are nice and have a modern look. Take care.
LOVE IT! So SIIIIICK to see you finally add fenders to this incredible machine! Also, I wore your shirt to the VW meet, and my Grandfather was there and recognized the bug on the shirt! He said he watches too! 86 years of age and is a fan.
It really looks cool with fenders on really even if super wide but do understand if slicks are taller or u went a thicker hoosier or something! However the arch can be trimmed from the back and have the wheel center aligning with the arch center since you already hacked up fender into 4 pieces, Deleting the taillights is easy with a patch panel, hammered and tacked till being one with the curve... May need some massaging with an English wheel but nothing u cant do! Great work, brother
Nice to see it progressing! The reactions were priceless. It really shows the value of your work, just that it made people think that hard. Stuff like those are always the best at shows, the tame perfect restorations are pretty cool, the ones that are something else are the ones you remember.
Haha the car show reactions were great! Except for the dweeb fondling your turbo. The widened fenders look real good, I like where you're going with the Bug Preston!
omg.. how LONG have i been suggesting swoopy fenders? i get that actual running boards won't work.. but DIGGING the rake and taper!! love this project, mr bug
Fenders look rad. It’s going to look great once you are finished with it. Always fun to see people react to crazy builds, and both the Bug and the Cart qualify for crazy category.
Hey Preston, how about putting wider tyres on the back? Hosier slicks maybe? They would fill out the cavity very nicely 😁 Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺
Hello from Dorchester Ontario , really love the show and all the exciting content , like the direction you are going with the fenders going to look SICK . Keep up the greatest work !!!
i like the idea of smoothing out the fenders, my grandfather did the same to his and then he found some matching old school Harley Davidson tail lights that he had off of a couple of his old bikes and mounted them on his bug. i think something like that would absolutely set your bug off!
I personally would keep the rear bug lights.. I think they would make it look amazing.. yes it would be a lot more metal work but I think would be worth it in the end.. my 2 cents
What will be cool is right where the slits where the bumper mounts to fab up some LEDs for brakelights there and the 70 Super beetle fenders are wider than its previous predecessors my friend built the track bug out of a super beetle and he’s running to 45/50/15s on 10 inch wide wheels square zero backspace 🔥🤔👍🏽🤙🏽😊
I was going to say you need some wider wheels with a big dish That will look good. You no instead of trying to weld the entire fender, get it down to bate metal and fiberglass it. Drape a full sheet over it and glass it. Something to think about
I love the way the widebody is coming out! I can see the rear fenders finalized, are you going to match the front fender flares? It is looking good and your videos are getting better! Keep them coming!
Your track width in the rear is about the same as my modified Beetle, but with those fenders, you're a few inches wider than mine on each side! LoL! I have seen wider though.... but yours looks more proportional.
Banana yellow and visible patchwork look actually quite okay towards the finish on the body. would be almost a shame to hide under fiberglass putty. (not meant as sarcasm) maybe something similar can be done to the front, so it will be a complete flip front?
Growing up we had a green 73 super beetle parked in the mid 80s on the lawn next to a hedge. I was about 10 when a tow truck driver boosting a neighbours car offered my dad 100$ for it. The guy wanted something to build with his kid and my dad just gave it too him. I have never hated a random stranger I’ve never met more than that man…
Ha! Cut the wheel arch lip off the rear edge and move it back to recentre the wheel! Only another 2 days work but you'll save a bit of extra weight you added. :)
If you tighten up the forward half radius of the rear finder and give it a vent to mold to the rear side body / you can cheat the off center look on the rear of the [ BONZI BUG ]
Looks like a good build, I’ve only just stumbled across. I’m sure you’re aware that you can get fibre glass fenders ranging from 2-6cm wider off the shelf
Griding, cutting, welding next to an open free air Turbine! Great, that thing gonna suck some good stuff at first crank up. What next? Replacing turbine and engine because did not work out as expected?
Looks sweet, I think you could modify the arch a little bit, to make it look more centered... 🤔well maybe if you really put your mind to it, lol I think you need to think about taillight and since it's all chopped up and not even close to factory I think a thin oval LED tail light would look perfect for them especially if you we're somehow able to inset or French them into the fender. Something like... "Diamond Group 52448 8" Oval 52 Diode LED Tail Light", or "Partsam 2Pcs 8.5" Oval Led Tail Lights "... that's a couple different ones similar style that I Googled, and looked up anyway so you understand what I'm talkin about.
I can't believe how many people so close to you have never seen either of these cars. They need to step outside car shows and hit the lanes. Hopefully new subs too.🤞👍
I think its looking good youll be able to run some insanely wide tires on it will you make a custom diffuser for back? Think itd be a neat way to tie it all in imagine if ya had f1 tires on it
I personally like what you were going with first! Full open wheel looked great ! Semi open wheel looks really good tho, like the front!!! Covering all of the rear wheels looks off, to me!
Truth at 10:08. ...Also a racecar layout similar to F1, Indy, most Le Mans.... Louvered fenders would be wicked! ...You know, for brake cooling purposes 😉😉
It's looking good although I feel the wheel placement is further back than stock. It would look cool if you made the front of the fenders contour tighter in the front to have it look centered and have it mount to flat steel that relocates the curved mounting surface back 3 inches.
Waited for this to long. Your doing awesome.. I think it would look good with big round darkend taillights. If it could Get mounted on the fender where the big hole is. Just and idea. Keep up the good work. Your doing f'n good. Did I say u rock.
Hey I know you're not going to probably ever do this again but next time you should cut the Center but go around the tail light unless you're going to run some other tail lights
I like where you're heading with the fenders, but I think it would be better if you moved the back edge of the wheel opening back to center it on the wheel better.
I think the fenders are looking great!
I can see where you're going.
Great reaction clips!
Thanks for sharing!

I was going to suggest the same thing.

The bug looks Great with the fenders

You got that front end sooo RIGHT !!! Can't wait for the finished product.
Love the way the fenders are coming out
Red led halo tail lights ! And leave the hole for smoke exit..
I think the Bug is fantastic and looks awesome with the wide fenders. The car is your best build buy a long way and its evolving into a beast!
I think you have a winner with the wide fenders, it gives it a Porsche kinda stance. You will need some "WIDE LOAD" stickers in the back. 😂
Tail lights from the last gen of original bugs are nice and have a modern look. Take care.
The older gentleman who pointed out your "Spinny boi" was my favorite. I'd like to have a beer with that guy.
LOVE IT! So SIIIIICK to see you finally add fenders to this incredible machine!

AWESOME!!! Thank you!!!
I think you should leave the gap for sure. Looks awesome. Super unique. Throw some thin LED lights in the back to plug that hole
I love the way the backend is coming out.
Just when I thought that bug can't look any cooler you come up with something that makes me all giddy like a teenager before prom
12:01 “twirly boys” I love it.

Put some wider tires on the back to fill the fenders when you not racing. Keep up the good work, love the videos.
I have been missing in action for awhile.... great vw build so dope.....
They're both looking sweet Dude!
I personally would keep the rear bug lights.. I think they would make it look amazing.. yes it would be a lot more metal work but I think would be worth it in the end.. my 2 cents
Older 50's beetles had tail lights that would sit right on a smooth fender.. no bucket holes required.
Awesome job on the wide fenders. I see the way this awesome build is transforming into pure killer style
It's gonna be rad Dude! LOL but really man the bug just gets sweeter and sweeter as you go keep up the good work!
Love this video and the fenders look cool
I'm already loving the narration 😮
I was going to say you need some wider wheels with a big dish

Ditching those elephant feet tail lights definitely a good idea. There is a euro lense that helps but still better without
The back fenders of the bug needs some Cadillac fins to fill the gap.
I really like the finds on the bug gives it a retro look.
Man that bug is looking really good. I like the wide rear. If only it could be centered but it's really different
Ha! Cut the wheel arch lip off the rear edge and move it back to recentre the wheel!
Only another 2 days work but you'll save a bit of extra weight you added. :)
wow so much work. I have 3 inch wider fenders from CCC Creative Car Craft. Keep up the good work!
Dude, the car show comments are epic!! LOL

Love it! Seeing people reactions was brilliant too!
Griding, cutting, welding next to an open free air Turbine! Great, that thing gonna suck some good stuff at first crank up. What next? Replacing turbine and engine because did not work out as expected?
Great as always, nice work on that wing and those fenders look amazing. You can also if you want to, the bubble style lights for your directional..✌👍
Looks sweet, I think you could modify the arch a little bit, to make it look more centered... 🤔well maybe if you really put your mind to it, lol

Tha car show reactions were awesome. 😂👍
I could see louvered vents on top and back of fenders with tail lights behind shining through.
I like it even though I wished it was a big turbo 1.8 VW engine and transaxle
but this looks pretty cool its come a long way
Tail light holes looks like it would fit the late 90s Beatle tail lights
Looks great be cool if you could do something like that in the front as well
That bug is so sick. Probably the coolest bug I've seen
Love the fenders, gives it the classic motorcycle look with the tire set back rather than centered.
Hey Preston , the fenders look great but I think you should loose the wing ? great job as always !!
You guys build some pretty rad stuff.
Thanks!
lovin the wider back fenders... I think you should do the same with the front
I can't believe how many people so close to you have never seen either of these cars. They need to step outside car shows and hit the lanes. Hopefully new subs too.🤞👍
It’s looking freakin amazing dude!! Keep up the good work!! Btw I like how it’s looking kinda stitched hahaha.
I think its looking good youll be able to run some insanely wide tires on it will you make a custom diffuser for back? Think itd be a neat way to tie it all in imagine if ya had f1 tires on it
That car show must have been a blast. The reactions were all over the place
You could fit the newer style bug rear light lenses would fill that gap pretty spot on 👌🧙
I personally like what you were going with first! Full open wheel looked great ! Semi open wheel looks really good tho, like the front!!! Covering all of the rear wheels looks off, to me!
Yes, definitely worth the wait.
C'mon guy... got to do the bug rear lights!!! (love the "is that a table?" comment)
Lol love the Morgan Freeman impression 😝
Awesome bug m8 ,newbie beetle rear tail lights would shirt the wide wings . Cheers vwcoco-U.K. (I own over 30 vws)
Is it weird I like it how it sits? Stitched together and different colors?
I'm really digging the bug with the rear fenders!
Lovin' the rear of the bug. It's looking very cool.
That drag wing came out soooo sick 🤘🏻🤘🏻
isn't it an unwritten law that all bugs have to have one yellow fender?
I like where you're heading with the rear fenders!
and
I like soup
People think is easyer to tell other what to do, than to do it themselvs….👍👏👏🌷🇸🇪
I thought I loved the bug without fender until a saw the fenders, it's gonna be too damn good
We now need "Significantly Modified" stickers haha
Truth at 10:08. ...Also a racecar layout similar to F1, Indy, most Le Mans....
Louvered fenders would be wicked! ...You know, for brake cooling purposes 😉😉
Ohhhhh. What are fluids? Epic
It's looking good although I feel the wheel placement is further back than stock. It would look cool if you made the front of the fenders contour tighter in the front to have it look centered and have it mount to flat steel that relocates the curved mounting surface back 3 inches.
Awesome build!
im liking those rear fenders
Hell ya....make it wide I love the look
Waited for this to long. Your doing awesome.. I think it would look good with big round darkend taillights. If it could Get mounted on the fender where the big hole is. Just and idea. Keep up the good work. Your doing f'n good. Did I say u rock.
Hey I know you're not going to probably ever do this again but next time you should cut the Center but go around the tail light unless you're going to run some other tail lights
Should’ve tried your hand at fiberglass they make wider fenders smooth.
Lolol there's some daf ppl out there .the guy who moved the pipes Would have had broken fingers😄 the rear wings look cool .
I like where you're heading with the fenders, but I think it would be better if you moved the back edge of the wheel opening back to center it on the wheel better.
I’d pull the rear fenders in at the front and rear bottoms.
Why was everyone hating on the bugs custom catch can? Any real Honda Boi runs the Gatorade bottle🤘
Might need some wider wheels! Surprised you didn’t use fiberglass rear fenders n modify them
I kinda think the front would look good with wide finders like the back.
bug looks sweet !! great job !!!
Keep it up! Loving the content!
