- Since everyone liked the Android 13 video I thought this would be a good time to upload the highlights of Androids 14 and 15 from the Super Android 13 movie. My favorite Lines are "Who blasted my blast?" and "Little boys shouldn't play with knives." But there's plenty of other great lines.
The fact all this dialog wasn't in the original Japanese dub is what is funny since toei or who ever does the dubbing actually got voice actors for them
The English dub is done by Funimation. There are the established English dub actors for all of Dragon Ball. There used to be an older version of the English dub, called the Ocean Dub. It was a lot rougher around the edges, although many die hards still consider Brian Drummond's Vegeta as the OG English Vegeta voice.
@rayzermaniac5218 I always knew Ocean Dub as "Next Dimension Dub" 😂 also in the case of Brian Drummond I'm of the common mindset of definitely better as earlier more evil Vegeta (especially the "MY WRATH" scene) while Sabat is much better late Frieza saga onwards.
@@rayzermaniac5218 A lot of that steams from people not liking Sabat much after what he contributed in the ousting of Vic Mignogna. Reason most likely being a leadership position that was gonna go to Vic, but due to the drama Sabat took the spot.
Super Android 13 is a completely boring film without the dub additions, 14 and 15 have zero personality and 13 isn't much better.

the perfect example liberties taken with an english dub that add more to the material,in this case taking 14 and 15 and giving them a little more personality and lines when the original native audio had none, esp when compared to their trucker hat southern accented leader. i mean really,someone just saw that get up and thought "give him a redneck accent" and it worked
Yeah. A lot of 14 and 15s lines in the dub are original where in the sub they didn’t say anything. I just think they have way more personality.
@@ByronTheDragonKing exactly,besides just goku's name of course because ya know they're soulless machines focusing on their directive. somedays i'm surprised there isn't any fan artists and fic writers taking liberties with making up their own takes on androids 9 to 12 given they used 13,14 and 15

@jjrj8568 he's not a real fan of dragonball. The only time it was mentioned that 16 is based on geros son is in dbz abridged made by team fourstar, which of course should never be considered canon.

@@cellwantstobattle0788 it made characters who otherwise had little to no characteristics fun and more fleshed out. It’s a win my book. And a lot of movies do that sort of thing. Even live action ones.

I thought it was epic how trunks & Vegeta were ready to help goku jump 13 after they were done with 14 & 15 but 13 had his ace in his sleeve
On me, that sound it made when he exploded was badass
First they try to show off Android 14's hair animation and it ends up with Trunks' hair animation. I can tell that the animators are having fun with this movie.

I’ve been rewatching the original 13 dbz movies and just watched android 13 and so far it’s on top. Just got to watch the other 6 to see what’s the best. But I don’t see how it can’t be Atleast too 3. It’s just too fire
It's the most underrated DBZ movie by a mile. Dunno if it's Top 3 but it's real good.

this reminds me of Team Four Star's brilliant dub: "Oh, right, Super Saiyan" because for some reason in just about every situation, the characters forget that they can transform and become hundreds of times stronger.
And it's not even a case of starting slow with a warm up, then powering up along the fight like it happened in the DBS Broly movie. NO.
Look at this scene right here 1:22! Goku is just getting pummeled, plain and simple!

And you think Trunks of all people would recognize the threat ANY android would pose and go all in from the beginning.
Something that makes it even worse is that the androids had a surprise attack. Supposedly they were made strong enough to "kill" goku, but couldn't even hurt him with a surprise attack. Androids have no ki to sense and they attacked from the floor below.

Super Android 13 is of my favorite DBZ movies of all time. I love Android 14 and 15 as well.
Same. I love how they made Android 13 self-aware about how petty and meaningless his creator's grudge is, but devoted to his intended purpose anyway. Makes me wish he'd gotten a proper saga where he kills Goku and then is left to wonder what he should do now. When you think about it, these Androids only became interested in other targets if said targets tried to stop them from killing Goku. The people in the restaurant were just acceptable collateral damage.

3:51 the drip & style here is superb
This movie felt like it couldn't job out the henchmen like in other movies because they were androids, and I believe the Android saga was still going on, at a point where the androids were still considered unbeatable.

I've seen it get shit on, but I kinda dig the funkiness to the dubs soundtrack as well. For as "eh" as this film could be they did try to add some personality to it.
I like how half of this has nothing to do with the dub itself.
its also crazy to think that this movie got a Burger King endorsement in America and we got action figures from it.

One of my favourite DBZ movies. Master Roshi the dirty old man always cracks me up!
In the 90’s and early 2000’s, dubs didn’t even do proper translations half of the time.
They literally made shit up. For better of for worse.
This allowed for some very interesting dialogue a lot of you are familiar with .

That’s why they redubbed the entire series with Kai, and made the dialogue closer to the original.
Kai wasn't just a redub. They edited the animation to create faster pacing. Sometimes it worked, especially in the dragged-out final boss fights, but other times it felt rushed. Goku vs. 19 was a fight I really enjoyed in Z, for instance, but Kai made it too fast-paced.

Some of the stuff, especially in the Buu saga, was definitely better in the old dub.
Contrast "I'm going to crush you... And throw you into the wind!" with "The way to beat you is to obliterate you so completely, that you can't regenerate!"

Although there were some strange translation choices and (and even personality changes) that I didn’t really mind too much.
Dang I forgot how much ass 14 and 15 kicked even before 13 got involved, I'm surprised the Alcoholic one did so well too I forgot about that, and man the added dialog is the kind we need more of today

I mean this is before they mastered super saiyan in the HTC. So it did drain energy and they didn’t have senzu in this movie.
