  • Coach Vince 'The Anomaly' breaks down some of the brutal tactics that undisputed UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov uses to ground and pound his victims... err, opponents. You'll learn how to scoop and tie up the legs, apply pressure against the cage, and keep your opponent in a compromised position, as well as a partner drill to master this fight strategy.

Wall wrestling is one of the most important aspects of MMA, yet one of the most underappreciated. It's one of the main reasons wrestlers dominate UFC, and pretty much every other MMA organizations that uses cages/walls.

Shane, one important aspect that coach vince didn't mention was the locking of the right arm underneath when you have the position. This keeps the opponent from escaping the triangle. The fight against johnson is a prime example

@@muss2055 Lol i know what the crucifix is. Im talking about how Khabib pulls the right hand down when he gets his opponent in this specific position making it impossible to have position. His opponent will most likely be on his right side (or left) while at the same time trapping the legs with his own. Watch the fight against johnson and you'll see.

call that move as "dagestani legs wrap"
and the other 3:46 move as "side ride wrist control" because khabib grab his opponent hand with his right hand and control it so his opponent can't block his bunches.
khabib use that move perfectly against michael johnson.

In the middle of watching this I got this idea : If your opponent "collects your legs" like shown here, just knee them in the face when the opportunity presents itself. Then I looked up the rules and nope, no knees or kicks to head of a grounded opponent. Then I thought : Well, the opponent is pushing his head to elbow range, use those. I looked up the rules, and nope, no downwards elbows. So basically, what Khabib is doing is being really clever with the rules, this move would be almost impossible to pull off if the defender was allowed to use elbows. I cant wait to see the defense video to this. Thanks Shane and Vince!
