Wall wrestling, one of the most underrated aspects of MMA, yet one of the biggest reasons why wrestlers dominate the UFC and every other organization with cages.
Hello Shane. Could you please do a video on how to train with a reflex bag? Magbe show us some diy on the reflex bag for other exercises. I'd really appreciate it. You're awesome!
Hi Shane. I dunno if you'll read this but how about doing a video on how to bounce on your toes while hitting the speedbag like Pacquiao. I want to make the most out of my speedbag training.
Hi Shane, long time viewer, appreciate your regular videos and actually started MT myself about a year ago. Just wondering are you planning on doing anymore real life scenarios/self defence type vids? seems alot of training/ring/cage stuff (which is good dont get me wrong), just had a thought and reminice of older videos. Cheers ! Thanks again
Shane, your videos are awesome man, I spend hours a day watching them. This isn’t related to the video, but what kind of punching bag type/weight would you prefer for Kickboxing/Muay Thai? Anyways keep up the great work dude
Do you train at the Millennia in Rancho? I saw just saw you did a vid with Georgi Karakhanyan, he was actually the first person I ever took a class with. Just thought it was kinda cool
Do you have a video on what to do against a striker who is simply better at octagon control and gets you up against the cage and strikes you like Conor McGregor?
Hey this is julien I really get beat up a lot by bullies so I wanted to let. U know that u help me a lot thx and i hope i get a reply from u because I have a couple of questions thx
Always control head arm(wrist) or balance by getting between their legs combat sports 101 so many ways to do it learn as many as possible CROSS TRAIN EVERY ART
Hey Shane! So I fought someone who kind of fought from their side. A side stance, I guess? Anyways, it prooved difficult to know where or how to hit him. He is a taekwondo master. So I mostly used kicks. Any tips?
So I have a question for anyone who has practiced martial arts for a while. I'm looking to pick up a martial art while in college, and I really don't know what I should train. I'm a big guy ( 6'1 and pretty muscular ) and I have a background in wrestling, so I don't know if I should study a striking martial art and become a more well-rounded fighter, or just become really good at grappling and submissions. Anyone with some experience have an opinion?
matthew farmer hey, dude.it all depends on yer preference or what u think looks more enticing to you .i did Muay Thai for a couple years.which has the striking aspect, along with clinch work and some grappling to an extent.i also do kenpo karate, and have done some jiujitsu. but go with what u think u'd like more both striking and grappling are great arts and one or the other is better than none, hope that helps.good luck
So does a situation. alter against bigger opponents?????

Pull their legs out towards you so it lowers their height, then you can do the same things and you'll destroy their strong base. In that situation you probably want to take them down asap anyway, a longer fighter is always harder to deal with when they can hit you. Height is almost fully negated on the ground.
Hey Shane, I've been practicing MMA for les than 4 months and I haven't done much sparring. I am nervous because I'm hot headed and sometimes I let anger get the best of me. I know I have to keep a cool head but it's a bit difficult. Do you have any advice for me? BTW I really enjoy watching your videos, I learn a lot from them. Congrats for your channel!
Go with someone who's good and when you get hard headed the guy will cut you down to size, then you'll know not to let anger get the better of you. I can only assume you get angry when you make mistakes so if you're not a dick you shouldn't be venting out frustration on guys you're better than. Also in Sparring it may get competitive but never to the point of genuine anger. That's to say, if you hurt someone you lay off them to recover, vs sucker punching someone after the bell due to sheer anger. You may (hopefully) be mistaking competitiveness with bad beef anger. If you do let sheer anger get the better of you, you're a dick, simple as that. But I think you're mistaking competitive drive to "win" with anger. However, it's still something you should work on controlling.
So I got punched in the ear pretty hard, and now my hearing is super muffled and quiet and just sounds kinda weird. Has anyone else ever experience this ?
Yes, I've experienced this recently, it almost feels like water in your ear but it's not the same exact feeling only similar, I don't know if it's permanent or temporary, but neither way I'm getting used and accustomed to the way I hear everything.
Wrestling is the important aspect of MMA, yet the least understood by the casual fans.
Great breakdown of wrestling basics guys. 👍
muay thai clinch,
wrestling head grinding,
face washing, crossface,
standing neck crank.
I had been thinking about fighting aginst the wall/cage alot lately! so this makes it even more interesting to work on later.
Can't forget the toe stomps dude!
Underutilised haha
that profile name lmao..
Haha not a go-to move for me but I have used them in a fight before
Vince Cachero 👍🏻thanks for the knowledge Vince.
Usman hear you
Needed this video. I started mma after training muay thai and bjj, so the mma clinch is definitely my weakest part of mma. Great vid!
This is a great video - the cage wall is a major part of MMA fighting, good to see it treated as such here.

Awesome breakdown. Added to the game plan
You're almost at 2M subscribers, keep it going you got this !
Yeah, Vince and Shane!

Cool vid dudes!
Vince! Great to see you on this channel! Are you still at System in Hawthorne?

Automatically when I saw this, and I thought of Khabib. Khabib is a God against the cage, and in the clinch.

Jack 96 heavy bag twice your ow weight
EggsGalore Gaming thanks for the reply, what about any decent brands?
Jack 96 doesn’t really matter if you’re a beginner I can’t see you ripping it up
another good thing to do for defence is frame with the free hand and create space then switch the overhook to a under hook and turn around
Hey Shane, you Should have Eric Bugenhagen in the next "Wanna Workout My Garage?" Episode. He has THE MINDSET!!!!!
Shane, question: do you have any combos that begin/end with a push kick?
Who is expelling more energy? The dom or the sub?
Nice one !
Can you guys show us how to sweep with the cage
Do you train at the Millennia in Rancho? I saw just saw you did a vid with Georgi Karakhanyan, he was actually the first person I ever took a class with. Just thought it was kinda cool

Leg kick the forward leg and move sideways a lot

The nine dislikes are from the people who lost on the cage

Alot of amateur fighters or even new pro don't know the importance of cage work
