    I was wondering if you can do a "How to Get Started Reading" for each individual JL member. So like,
    How to Get Started Reading Flash comics
    How to Get Started Reading Batman comics
    How to Get Started Reading Superman comics
    It doesn't have to be the New 52 versions of these characters, though

    For anyone that wants a pre-Flashpoint Darkseid story, you could probably do Final Crisis. Its not super accessible to new readers, but it’ll match up with the continuity right continuity of other stories on this list.

    I really like “Tower of Babel” and “Divided We Fall”! 😄

    My first recommendation would be Crisis on Multiple Earths. Before Crisis on Infinite Earths--the Marv Wolvman/George Perez event in the 80s, which itself isn't very great storytelling, just a baseline to post-crisis continuity--Crisis on Multiple Earths was an annual event in the Silver Age. In it, the characters from Earth One, the Justice League, would cross over with their Golden Age counterparts, the Justice Society of America. Although that universe has been rebooted than restored a seemingly endless amount of times, it serves as both an easy introduction to both teams, and to the multiverse--a concept they never shut up about since Infinite Crisis.
    If I were to name the greatest storytelling it would be Keith Giffen's run on JLI/JLA/JLE and about ten issues after the Breakdowns storyline for both comics, but I could see how they would be confusing intros--even if they were the first JL books I read--because the characters live in the shadow of the SuperGroup version of the JLA, but I think it would be fun with as little as Crisis on Multiple Earths for reference.

      I miss Martian Manhunter too, and i was so dissapointed with the last run. It needs a good horror writer.

      TacoCheetah I guess Scott Snyder should write MM comics (if he already hasn't) he is great horror writer

    • @TheNerdBuster
      @TheNerdBuster 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah American Vampire and Swamp Thing were great titles. I love to see him and capullo take on the character. That would be really nice!

    • @andros1005
      @andros1005 7 лет назад +1

      Nerd-Busters Wytches is the scariest horror comic as i've heard and he was writing it, so MM would be a perfect fit for him, if he understands the character and his rogues gallery ofc.

    That's a really good creative list to go by. I didn't like JLA Earth 2 because Morrision is 50/50 for me, but I loved Forever Evil, even the tie ins were good. I think DC has been making better tie ins that Marvel for their events. I loved the God series for Darkseid War and even the Metal tie ins are pretty good.

    Idk if this question will get answered but... if Year One has Barry Allen, that has to mean it takes place after he comes back in Final Crisis? But you could also interpret it as a PRE-Crisis on Infinite Earths Origin story, then Barry dies in Crisis and Wally takes over for JLA. Since all of the characters origins were retconned and reinagined after Crisis, JLA Year One is the retcon/retelling/flashback to their origin I assume. Tell me if I got it wrong or not because I really want to get into JLA.a

      Yes, JLA Year One is a retelling of their origin after Crisis on Infinite Earths.

    I tried really hard man. Really hard to like Grant Morrison’s JLA, but I couldn’t. His writing style is too all over the place for me. Just my opinion. I’ll have to try Tower of Babel and Year One.

    i might be a year late to ask this question LOL but
    by reading these 5 book you suggested,
    would i still have to read the complete story arc of jla Morrison run in paperback and new 52 story arc to get to darkseid or can i just get these 5 books + the 2 part darkseid in new52 to complete it or is this enough?

    Rock of Ages > Darkseid War. I don’t think Johns is very good at writing Darkseid/New Gods stuff. He’s also not a good Batman/Wonder Woman writer. Besides that, Johns is a fantastic Flash writer and GL writer. His Wally run is one of my favorite runs ever
