Why You’re Struggling With Motivation And How To Fix It With John Amaechi OBE

- It is an understatement to say that John Amaechi has had a career that has taken him places.
Not only is he an Organisational Psychologist, an OBE, a New York Times Bestselling Author, a Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology, a Professor of Leadership, a non-executive director of an FTSE 250 company and the founder of organisational psychology consultancy APS.
He was also, more surprisingly, the first Briton to play professional basketball in the NBA league, a move which saw him leave his hometown of Stockport for the world of professional basketball aged just 18. And whilst playing, he was the first NBA player to come out as gay. Never afraid to stand up and speak out, his book made me question a lot of things I thought I knew about myself and the way I live and work.
Amaechi has spent years studying the world’s highest performers, in both the sporting and corporate world, and I’m so looking forward to everyone hearing his amazing techniques. I learnt so much in this chat and I’m sure you will too. I'd be so grateful if you could subscribe to my channel if you do enjoy it!

John Amaechi's insights on high performers are spot on. A key takeaway for entrepreneurs is the "mundanity of brilliance" concept, which suggests that consistent, daily efforts, rather than occasional bursts of genius, lead to success. It's a game-changer for those building their businesses.
Agreed!
