The main reason I really like to look at old and classic pictures of people is because it has its own story and most of all, the picture depicts the way of life of that person at that time (1700, 1800) ....to many sweet memories.....

INLIKE today when digital photography is a time pass casual thi g, even 45 years back , there were no studio labs to process color films, in most cities.A roll of films for 36 exposures cost a months lunch expenses on a premium restaurant, and proceeding and printing double such cost of film. The.Black and white photography itself was beyond common man's budget and cameras were like scanning machines in todays hospitals. At least we should appreciate the people who protected them till digitalization came in 1990s, in western countries.
Yes, and most photos to a long time to be taken (maybe over 3-4mins) and they couldn't smile for such a long time. Besides, photos were a luxury and only for important use back then, and maybe smiling didn't seems necessary for it, I guess.

@@ramaraksha01 Yes, I fully agree with you. I don't think we'll ever be truly free, never truly back to our lost culture. We're not even living half of the culture of mediaeval period. Little to none of the ancient period. The Mughals, the Europeans, have chipped away so much of our rich heritage and culture over the years, the comparison is astounding. But when I said that we overcame it, I meant that particular phase when India was struggling to feed it's people, to give them somewhat close to a normal life. But India is still not completely freed. I was speaking of a particular sense only.

You see NONE of them are smiling - well photography was new and so they did not know what to do but life also was not easy - very harsh times
