Enjoying your trip through Indiana, my home state. My mom would make a lot of those jarred goodies you showed. Amish peanut butter has always been my favorite and I make it sometimes still. I live in Florida now so I appreciate you showing your trip through Indiana. Safe travels to you both
I sometimes wonder, if anyone can possibly have a bigger heart than Abby. The world could use a lot more Abby's. Such a child like spirit and that's a good thing. Abom Adventures may be taking over Abom 79, in the favorite department. :-)
well darn you two, If I knew you guys were that close I would have pointed you to Galesburg, Michigan that is the only "antique" shop that I know of on that side of the state. HOWEVER!!! when you do make a trip with the RV into Michigan I will point you to the "Gilmore Car Museum" not to far away from Galesburg which is a stones throw from Kalamazoo, MI. The once home of Gibson Guitars and Checker Cab Manufacturing.
You reminded me of snickerdoodles my Grandmother used to make back in the day in our old New England farm house on the dairy farm. Those snickerdoodles were delicious, and I remember trying to sneak more than my share out of the tin where she kept them without getting caught.
Swap meets are the only events to find everything. Just a pain trying to get all the times for them all. Wish there was a nationwide swap meet sight online. There is the Swap Meet Magazine for 2021.
I hope you tried Nelsons chicken and their pitatoes, they are delicious. Also those fried pies are amazing too, its worth the wait in line. My wife and I will drive 40 minutes just to pick some of those up. We usually go to Shipshe for the food.
I love about 45 min away from there. The flea market used to great about 10+ years ago but now a lot of the places seem to sell China made crap. I hope you enjoyed your time in Indiana!
Been there and Loved it. Check out the lighting of the Christmas tree sometime. The nighttime horse and buggy carriage rides is a experience you would enjoy.
I hope you stopped at the Auburn Duesenberg and Cord museum in Auburn Indiana. Small museum in the old Auburn design building. Cool place with a huge granite dead flat stone in the floor. Those doughnuts reminded me of the chocolate covered ones in Naxos Greece. Mmmm
thank you for letting me follow yall on your trips. breakfast tip if you every are near a cattle sale barn that has a reasturant hit that in the morning most big sale barns have them best food sometimes it is a diffrent place to eat most people would not think about and so places seat watch the auction to sell the live stock i like that fast pace omg . just a thougt.
Go to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan when you come here. Adam you will Love it. Lots of cool things to see there. Its about 3 miles from my home.
Rogers flea market in Rogers Ohio. It is really big and you will find the cast iron and machinists tools. I have been there many times and can tell you that you would be a happy camper if you go. A lot of the Amish goods there also. Look it up!
Over on US 6 in Nappanee in the 80's and 90's back before it closed there was an Amish restaurant that had a mini steam train and a track going around the property, you could get your meal and go for a little ride. In downtown Goshen you can still see guard shacks from the days of the mobsters that would protect banks and the court house in the city from people like Dillinger. I lived around that area all my life up until 2017 when we headed south for warmer weather.
My Mom and my aunts have been trying to drag me to that place for years. Glad I had the hunch it wasn't my scene. However, the Nelson's chicken isn't to be missed. Hoped you grabbed you a half a bird at least.
Live within 30 minutes of Shipshe (that's when traffic isn't backed up for 5+miles) and have yet to visit the flea thang. If you missed Rise N Roll Bakery on US 20, you missed out on some fine caramel rolls.
ever think about canton tx worlds largest flea market was nice in the 80's and 90's maybe full of china junk now. been 20yrs i move away from there what to go visit again
I hope you didn't buy any runny Amish maple syrup! Stop into "Das Essen Has" in Middlebury on Hwy 20! It's a big white building with GREAT FOOD BTW, the locals call it Ship-She
Been there, seen it before, and was a little disappointed too in the whole no antique part. Over priced quilts, a small art museum, a caboose you could step into etc. Not something I'd go back to. But good vid guys!
Love the sped up walking with fiddles playing!

Its about the quality of life .. not the quantity .. right guys?
that's right!
Thanks. Enjoyed looking over your shoulders. No old machine tools or cast iron. That said, there was indeed kettle corn. Yum.

YUM YUM!
you two look like you're in shock a little. been to the Shipshee a few times
Looks yummy... :-)
I was afraid you would be disappointed in the antique selection at the shipshewana flea market.
Did you film any of the antique stores in town or Michigan?
By going into Michigan, you can add that sticker to the map.
Nice! I’m about 20 min from shipshe

Dutch country store? As we say in Dutch ‘de boerenpummel winkel’? 😅.
hey, Dutch can cook and bake - big time!
The problem with this Flea Market it repeats itself every 4 rows!

yeah what was a unique place has become a sad tourist trap. And their on the road events are not all that either.
Looks like tourist trap.
DOWN TOWN SHIPSHEWANA HAS BETTER STUFF
