NYC Subway: The New Fulton Street Station

- Today's film explores the brand new Fulton Street station complex in Lower Manhattan. It opened in November 2014 and provides access to four subway lines: The IRT Lexington Avenue Line (4 and 5 trains), the IRT Seventh Avenue Line (2 and 3 trains), the BMT Nassau Street Line (J and Z trains), and the IND Eighth Avenue Line (A and C trains). Moreover, there is a beautiful new building at the intersection of Fulton Street and Broadway with a spectacular glass roof.
This film shows the new station in detail, including the building, some of the passageways that connect the different platforms, and of course some train action.
Rolling stock that can be seen in the film: R142, R62, R46, and R32.
Note: Since this was filmed on a Saturday there was no service on the BMT Nassau Street Line platform-all (J) trains terminated one station north at Chambers Street.
Enjoy!
Filmed on 21 March, 2015.
i really love all ur vids ,the quality is great both video and audio and one can really feel like hes there right now
R32. . . . Serving New York since 1964.
Well now their gone, they have been retired.
The new station looks awesome.
"stand clear of the closing doors please ting ding"
Yeah, I love that too :-)
Luftschlange Why don't Americans say "Mind the gap"?
Hungry Guy Because our gaps aren't as big.
DarPower1 LoL :-)
Hungry Guy I rarely hear an American say to "mind" something. :-)
the light bar on the left side in minute 3:28 looks like the light bar from our City Tunnel Leipzig (germany) on the Station "Bayerischer Bahnhof". If i remember correctly some people of MTA or New Yorker Government were here 2 years ago
The building looks so good but the platform stations are MEH
At least they better than chambers Street on the J Z line
When politicians make the NY subway spend penis on what actually matters...
JustRant penis? Or pennies?
Gol. D Rodger Penis; its from a Gordon Ramsay episode
I agree
I worked on this station for Skanska for 5 years it was a great job GO LOCAL 731 GOD BLESS
How was it like?
LOL, building looks great, platforms mostly unchanged since the 70s when I transferred from 2 or 3 train to A or CC to go to Rockaway and back every day. Lexington Av line platform looked newer, maybe the J line, too. IND and 7th Av IRT look like nothing changed in 40 years. wow.
Actually the IND station was renamed Fulton St. it was previously called Broadway-Nassau. All the platform signage was changed.
Thanks to you! I would like to go to New York. Nice station and nice video.
Can you make a video on taking the N train from Whitehall street to 36th avenue and taking the 7 train from the first stop to the last stop. By stations with water checker
Sehr gute Aufnahmen dieser abwechslungsreichen Station und der verschiedenen Zugtypen!
Horst Honig Thank you! :-)
Why didn't you walk down the concourse to the R train? That's connected too.
Fulton Center, as it's been redone, is EXACTLY what (Lower) Manhattan needs.
Forget the WTC 2.0 monstrosity; Fulton Center is the new hub of the Financial District.
Good old days when crappy r179s didn’t exist 😃
When the trains travel on the track, it makes that loud screeching sound. I had to turn down my volume because the screeching was burning my eardrums...
i put down my volume because of the loud announcements
Where's video of her worst video ever
If you hate that baby you let New York City you know that that video was the worst video evers🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕
@@tahamid9687 but I like them
I thought the screeching sound was only for trains using overhead wires
Nice film which gives a good view of the station.
i love this video so much
at Fulton Street, the 4 and 5 should be considered Express and the 2 and 3 should be considered Local.
If that was the case then 2 and 3 trains would just run local the whole route
I though the ice cream truck gag at the end was kinda cute!
This is a Bronx bound 5 express train the next stop is Brooklyn bridge city hall stand clear of the closing doors please ding do
I don't get it why is the (J) and (Z) Platform on Fultion street station closed on the Weekends
For J trains to terminate at Chambers street which you can get to by taking a 4/5 Train to Brooklyn Bridge and transferring there
Beautiful Station =P
Super Aufnahmen! Klasse!
Thank you. Glad you like it! :-)
Fun Fact : Chambers Street(A)(C)/World Trade Center (E)/Park Place (2)(3),Cortlandt Street (R)(W),& Cortlandt Street (1)
The station's listed for good reason because they'll all nearby
1:25 nah man an R142 without the hvac noise
you are so lucky up until 3:19 because ypu didnt hear
any of that loud noise that the r142 usually make
There like EEEEKKK OOOOOOOLKKKK OOOOOOOOMK
None of those were R142s or R142As. They were R188s.
2021 Update: 2 years ago when i wrote this, i was unaware of the fact that they actually are R142s and R142As
@@iceboxcv they weren't, r188s have different propulsion and only run on the 7 😝
LMAO AT 3:37 LIONS!!
over one billion on $ for just 1 station, just so the politicians can show off and cut ribbons. sure its very shiny, but don't ya think buying new trains or improving bus services or installing elevators at multiple different stations or doing an extension to LGA or improving signage or cleaning the actual dam stations ... anything ... would be a better use of money!?
Is the station wheelchair wheelchair (elevator) between all platforms? I need to transfer from a Manhattan Bound J train to an Uptown 1/2/3
Unfortunately I don't know that. The platforms are the usual old and grim, but they may have added some elevators.
yes. all of the platforms r now completely handicapped accessible. they added new elevators 2 each platform.
I don't like R62 sides but I love the front and back
nice video though and that linos graffiti thing is funny. lol
But this year in 2019, I only saw 4 trains go to New Lots Avenue.
Why is the Nassau line closed on weekends ???
It isn't closed on weekends any more. J trains now go to Broad St. 24/7.
And what about the (R) train
Well, technically the (R) runs in a different station, though there is an underground passage connecting them.
Ah ok thanks, you're my favourite subway recorder haha ;)
Luftschlange
The stopping ground of the late "Christopher Wallace AKA BIGGIE SMALLS i.e. THE Notorious B.I.G! Looking nice!
The c train did not stop in the stop
Stand clear of the closing doors please din doon
Its so loud it moved my phone
So the Fulton Street transit hub is this sleek and modern new building, but the platform looks old and dirty???
I would think the MTA would have modernized the platform(s) as well. In my opinion, it makes absolutely no sense to walk into a sleek & modern transit hub and to later go to an old, smelly and dirty platform(s). Just saying......

In Europe, the politicians that wasted so much money to build that station in their own district(the definition of privilege, did not invest the money in the entire structure, for everybody), would be in jail for corruption...
This project was mostly paid for with 9/11 recovery funds as part of a revitalization of Lower Manhattan. I don't think there's any corruption about it. The complex was originally 4 separate stations. Fulton Street on the 2/3, Fulton Street on the 4/5, Fulton Street on the J/Z, and Broadway Nassau on the A/C. They were haphazardly connected before, but it was a complete mess and resulted in frequent overcrowding. The Fulton Center project provided better connections between then platforms, improved access from the street, and revenue generating retail facilities.
Fulton station is important. It connects alot of lines. It's not just some random station. Why do Europeans always wanna judge Americans.
You do know that this station connects 10+ train lines, and is basically the major hub of the Financial District, right? Doesn’t seems like “privilege” I kinda hate the Oculus too tbh, but it isn’t bad that they wanted to connect the lines
Edit: it’s actually 9 lines, sorry, but STILL
omg
Who’s watching in 2021
ok what up with that
